Live wires with the plastic nuts just hanging off the bottom of the lights. Missed the lack of window well covers . Failed to identify the basement did not have 2 means of ingress and egress, nor any safety windows in windows even though the basement was identified as living space. Failed to notice the garage door threshold leaked like sieve despite the obvious signs of water damage along the floor. Missed an unvented gas heater. They failed to turn on the HVAC system and notice that no air came out from several vents which led to the discovery of structural issues needing $200,000 of repairs. I could go on but there is no point. They kindly refunded the cost of inspection, which are the limits of their liability under Illinois law. Due to recovery from surgery I was unable to attend inspection. Big Mistake! I'm not sure who else to contact in Springfield area but it's not these people!

Also, the inspector didn't rush us during the inspection, absolutely knew his stuff and explained everything to us clearly ensuring that we understood his findings during his inspection. Lastly, if you are using a VA Home Loan, absolutely give Safe House a call. You want this company on your side in case the VA inspection isn't very thorough. When I spoke my concerns about this, they told me her references are good they will keep her and that my child can be removed if I was not comfortable with her being her teacher. I asked for a compromise because my child has been there for 3 years no issues from me or her. When I told other staff what was wrong when they asked I expressed myself. The admin said I was loud and doing too much, I said I did not agree but sorry if they felt like it. Julie informed me she did not need her staff to know what was going on because some of them will not be able to separate their feelings from what they heard about that teacher. That afternoon I went to apologize to the teachers since Julie said I made staff uncomfortable. They asked what I was talking about and I stated that Julie said that I was loud and doing too much when saying I do not want Taylore to be my child's teacher. Granted B#tch did come out when I was talking about Taylore. They said I did not think you were loud or doing too much. I made a comment saying that when black people are upset white people tend to police their emotions and say they are doing too much. Fallon got upset and I said I am sorry I offended you. Fallon said I can't go around saying all you black people without it being a problem. I told her I can explain the difference if she would like, but she chose to walk away. My child was dismissed from daycare today because the all white admin chose to stick with their implicit biases. The admin staff will talk to you and have the same type of conversations on multiple occasions with others around, but when a white person gets upset they blame you even though teachers and other staff have had conversations like this with me before. When I asked what was different this time, they could not give me an answer and said that the relationship has been broken. They blame parents if they have concerns with a new hire who has been fired for physically punishing students at project scope, and she is in a classroom with younger children. If you are okay with this, then go to Silverleaf South. Julie and Kyle will act like they are down for the cause and to support black people and their struggles until it actually comes time to do so. Keep in mind Julie sleeps with black men and has black grandchildren. Do not send your kids of color here. They are part of the school to prison pipeline. They will not advocate for you as a parent or your children. It is all about business with them.

Northtown Vacuum in Springfield, Illinois is a quaint little shop. As soon as you arrive at the…read moredoorstep, you can see the delightful sense of humor of the owner, Michael, with the funny doorbell sign. Once inside, you are treated to an array of vacuums (older repaired models as well as brand new Riccar vacuums). Michael is an incredible repairman with a wonderful personality. I took my DC07 Dyson vacuum, which is a wonderful machine that had lost suction. He knew right away what it needed. He demonstrated why with a test using a glove that he wore, as he showed how many fingers it took to stop the vacuum's rotating brush. His knowledge of any and all models of vacuums is incredible. He will tell you straight whether or not a given model is repairable, as many of the flashy new models are severely flawed in their design. He will also accept any broken, unfixable vacuums that you don't want and he will recycle them at no charge. He fixed my Dyson as good as new and I could not be happier. This is a great place and you will not find anyone else in the area that can do what Michael can do.

He was very kind and did a great job of calming me down and convincing me that everything would be taken care of. He sent someone out to put tarps over the holes in the roof until the tree could be removed and the roof repaired. He somehow did this in the dark. Then Steve came again to check the tarps over the weekend since rain was predicted. Repair Masters dealt with my insurance company and that went very smoothly. The crew who came to work on the roof were here promptly at 7am and were very professional. They finished what seemed to be a big job in a day and a half and cleaned up when they finished. I would highly recommend Repair Masters and Steve was especially kind and efficient.

I was shocked when the contractor showed up that day and on time. This has never happened with contractors I've hired in the past! I asked him to replace anything he saw that was damaged. He ran into other problems and he took care of them. He was professional, had a great eye for detail, and his work was very neat and sturdy. I was told it would take 1-2 days when I was given the estimate. The job was completed in a day and a half. It looks great! It came in just a little over the estimate due to the extra materials needed to complete the job properly. I believe the price was fair. I am looking forward to hiring this company for more repairs and remodeling on my home in the future. It means a lot to me that they actually showed up when they said they would and the cost was reasonable.

The problem I have with this bill is the cost of the water heater that is listed. It is more than double the amount of what the actual cost of the same exact make and model water heater is (without a contractor's discount). Professional plumber know what water heaters cost and a professional should not charge customers more than double that amount as an "upcharge". I am happy to pay for work well done. I am not at all happy to pay double the cost materials.
