Went in to look at an advertised car. Since I was paying cash and had no trade in, I fully expected to get their "best price" based on many years of experience. Found out that, because I was paying cash and had no trade in, I would have to pay an extra $2000 above their so called best price. Their so called best price is not the price at all but an artificially low number that they then presumably make back through high finance charges and low trade in prices. I want a dealer who is in the business of providing quality cars and selling them at transparent, competitive prices not a dealer who is playing games and trying to make money through back door methods. Once I understood how they were operating, I asked them to simply give me the out the door price so I could make a decision. They wanted me to sign an agreement to buy the car in order to get the out the door price. I, of course, refused and they did eventually provide it to me, the same as their so-called market price (not their best price) plus administrative fees as shown on their website. So why not just tell me that in the first place? I did not buy the vehicle and will not be going back. To their credit, if you look at the information on their website, it is evident how they price their vehicles and that the so-called best price is an artificial low price that they make up through financing and the trade in. So I cannot say they are dishonest but the overall experience was one that gives used car dealership a bad name. In the past couple of years, I have purchased two used vehicles from other dealerships, both small-town dealerships that are not in the financing business. In both cases, I was pleased with the experience. They didn't try to sell me anything, just answered my questions. In both cases I had done my homework and the prices listed were fair and, in both cases, they gave me a better price since I was paying cash and had no trade in. Absolutely disappointed with the Finance department. After two weeks of trading in my vehicle, I didn't receive a single word on Briggs paying off the vehicles loan. It wasn't until I received a call from my banking institution saying I was going to be late on a payment for the traded in vehicle. I called Briggs, after I had the utmost confidence that they took care of that, and I was told that they never sent the check out to the bank. Their excuse?.... "There's really no excuse". I was completely disappointed. I ended up making the payment for the vehicle I NO LONGER had just so it didn't affect my credit score. read more

The Brigg's people who handled the paperwork of the sale of my vehicle get 1 star. Christian Yeager, the guy who worked with me through the process of selling the car, gets 10 stars. Without Christian Brigg's gets 1 star. If you need to sell a car quickly you have come to the wrong place, my friend! If you have time to sell the car, you will get a fair price. If you need money quick because you owe 2 points on the vig and it's time to pay up or get your knees broken, say goodbye to your legs because these guys will lose your paperwork and mail stuff to the wrong address. They improperly installed my new fuel tank (which inexplicably took 3 months to complete. I had to call and remind them multiple times during this period. Fortunately this was not my primary vehicle.) When I picked up my vehicle from this repair, it stopped running less than one mile from the shop (apparently they didn't test drive it or check their work. With 3 months to make the repair, I would have expected they had plenty of opportunity to do so). After being stranded on the highway, at night, Briggs agreed to pay for the tow truck and properly repair the tank with a second attempt. Fortunately there was no cost for this try at fixing the tank but it was a huge inconvenience for me. After repairing the fuel tank (I appreciate they admitted their mistake), they did additional work on my vehicle (which they didn't properly fix and is still an issue - they offered to take a second try at the repair. Apparently getting things right on the first attempt is not part of their service). Briggs called me to pick up my vehicle and to pay my new bill. When I arrived, they had no record of the repair in the system and they asked me to come back "another day." I pointed to the lot and showed them where my vehicle was sitting but they told me I would need to come back and try again. After making multiple trips and wasting too much time on this, Briggs refuses to discount the work or compensate me for lost time, fuel cost and having to set up someone to drive me back and forth for multiple trips all because of their incompetence. I will never bring another vehicle to this establishment. They are unorganized, error prone and don't realize the inconvenience that they create for the customer when multiple fixes and return trips are required to correct the issue. When I spoke with Pat, the service manager, about this he was dismissive and unprofessional about the situation. With so many other choices in Manhattan, I'll will try one of those when a repair is needed. For all the reasons above, I recommend never taking your vehicle to Briggs. read more

very disappointed, bought a brand new vehicle with 9 miles on it. cruise control kept shutting off on me took it back. They said it needed a new bracket by the time the bracket came in someone had bumped the front of my rogue and put a tiny crack about 2 foot down from where the sensor is after they put the bracket on driving home cruise control still shut off same as it had done before it did this daily. They said it was because of the accident, but it was doing that before they they replaced the bracket. wanted me to have my insurance pay for everything and then bring it back , I didn't wanna pay the thousand dollar deductible for a tiny little crack that didn't hardly show. this went on for six months and went off almost everyday on a perfectly sunny straight roadNissan recommended I take it to another dealer which I did. I took it to TOPEKA. They said they did not think it had anything to do with an accident , they ordered the sensor replaced it under warranty and fixed the problem. I don't understand why they wouldn't just try replacing it since it was under warranty when I only had 9 miles on it when I bought it. 3 or 4 trips to Briggs, time off work2 trips to Topeka Nissan which all could of been avoided if they would of just replaced the sensor. read more

I was on a road trip and my car started acting up so I took it to the service department at Briggs to see if they could help.. They did a Diagnostics or so they said. They came back with 4 codes for the transmission and told me that it would be $4,500 for a new transmission or I am at a dealership and I could buy a new car. I decided to cancel my trip and go home. Once I was home I took my car to a repair shop and had them look at it. What they found was a burned up coil and a cracked spark plug at the cost of $430.00. Oddest dealer I've ever seen. They sell used cars that have issues needing to be fixed. Then they ask the customer which one's they want fixed and then the customer has to pay for repairs. Cars on the lot aren't in good shape. Run away. read more

I used their warranty to tow my vehicle way back in June 2020 and I had to pay out of pocket which was supposed to be covered and I still haven't received my refund check...it's December 21st, 2020. O and the vehicle I bought has been in the shop at least 4 or 5 times in 10 months. Worst dealership in the world. read more

Initial encounter with first salesman was poor and rude, he passed us onto another person right away. Didn't feel like anyone wanted our business. Very quiet unwelcome atmosphere. Kept us waiting for hours with multiple price changes on one vehicle. Didn't give back my car registration, upon realizing this on the way home we called and they wouldn't answer the phone so it pushed us to a Briggs in another town. They never called us back but the other Briggs did saying my registration wasn't there. Still haven't located it. Overall very poor experience. I would not recommend this dealership to my enemy. I don't even write reviews and I felt the need to write a poor one because this experience was so upsetting. read more

I can't speak for the rest of the dealership, but their motorcycle guys are on point. I took my vintage Kawasaki in for some maintenance I couldn't handle on my own. They had to get onto eBay and order parts because that's how old this sucker is. After they did that they still apologized that it spent two weeks in the shop and it wasn't even their fault, it was eBay's. Their mechanics were persistent about cramming as much service in for my limited budget is they possibly could. They were nice, friendly and ridiculously helpful. The motorcycle itself had-and still has- tons of issues since it's a hobby fixer-upper. But they did go above and beyond to make sure it was in much better riding condition for me as I am a college student and it's my daily rider. I gave them a strict budget and told them what I wanted to see fixed and they came a dollar short of that budget. So yes, I will definitely return and the Briggs motorcycle department has earned my customer loyalty. read more

The sale process was smooth and their salesmen didn't hassle me at all. The problem was with the paperwork. I've had to borderline harass these guys in order to get my title & paperwork so I can register my car. They didn't even send the paperwork until two weeks had passed from the sale date, and then, they didn't fill it out correctly so I had to send it back. Now I find out that the auction place, where they acquired the car, didn't sign over the title to them properly. So more waiting. I am now sitting at 45 days since the sale date and I still can't register my vehicle. At this rate, they are going to have to issue another 60 day tag. read more

I went to Briggs to purchase a car I'd been viewing online, I set up a test drive for said car, and when I got to the dealership I discovered that not only the first car, the second, and third car I'd been interested in had been sold in the course of a day. Kenzie assured me they'd have something to put me in that I would be interested in. When I told him that I was only interested in something with four wheel drive, he tried to show me a Chrysler compact car. Playing nice, I took it for a test drive and told him I wasn't interested in it. He also informed me that my mother wasn't approved for credit (we were informed they had an "in and out" deal for trade ins, where if you have someone interested in buying the vehicle they could finance it through them so they didn't have to come up with the full amount right away). The thing is, my mother gave him her nick name, not her full name, they had no idea who she was and still insisted that she wasn't approved and when we asked them to tell us how they knew she wasn't approved without knowing her name, they continued to lie to us while asking my mother to tell him her name, claiming his manager told him she wasn't approved. The manager couldn't tell my mother her name either. Her credit application was not linked to mine, and our last names are different. There was no way for them to know who she was or that she couldn't possibly be approved. They completely disregarded my wants in a vehicle and my maximum monthly payment allowance, by showing me cars way out of my price range. All in all we were lied to, and they tried to cover their lies with more lies. I will never bother contacting Briggs Supercenter for my vehicle interests. read more

I was rear ended in the beginning of August. My insurance company directed me to Briggs Collision. My bumper, and hatchback and a twilight had to be replaced, as well as the headrests, which have an anti-whiplash feature and were deployed in the collision. I dropped off the vehicle, and it took an extra 2 days and a weekend. I didn't know this until I showed up to pick up on Friday, though, because nobody called to tell me. This didn't bother me initially because I had a rental provided and I just wanted my van fixed and fixed well. I went and picked up the car on Monday. I inspected the rear end it looked great. I hopped in and went home. As I was helping kids out, I realized they didn't fix my headrests. When I called, they said the parts were all on backorder. Hmmm. They could have MENTIONED that. So they said they would call me when they came in, probably within a month. NO CALL. so I call. It's now been 1.5 months. I'm told they are waiting, they would call me when it came in. Then life happened. I forgot to continue hounding until I realized it's been over three months since I was in the accident. I called, spoke to the receptionist (who is nice) and explained if my car couldn't be fixed I'd seek out someone else as I'm driving cross country and want my safety features good to go. Lo and behold, THE PART WAS THERE. I suspect it has been in for quite some time, I was just not given the courtesy of a phone call. The repair was 5 stars, but the lack of communication and length of time I was forced to wait was 1 star. If I am ever need of collision repair in the future, I will seek out a competitor, even if I need to drive out of my way. read more

The staff at Briggs were all pretty warm and inviting but I would hope so considering you're trying to sell cars. We were greeted by Jonathan and looked at a few cars. We had two criteria that we said must be met. One, 3rd throw seating, Two, Bluetooth system. It was closing time when we found our path finder but we were told it met all of our expectations and we did like the test drive. We left the car overnight to be cleaned and detailed. Picked it up Saturday and it didn't even look washed.( I went home and did a better job than they did) but as we picked the car up my husband ran in to get the keys and asked Jonathan to show him how the Bluetooth worked and his reply was "aww man, you know what this is the only model that doesn't have the Bluetooth. You know what though since it was my mistake I'll buy you one out of my money." I thought ok cool. 6 weeks later when I go to get the title, because we haven't heard from anyone, (having to wait over an hour because there was one manager with the keys and he was gone for a doctors appointment). I had to wait 45 minutes for them to even find Jonathan. When they did he said he would talk to his manager and see what He can do because the Bluetooth he bought was a clip on to the visor(again I appreciate the gesture) but it was his mistake and he did own up to it. So when the manager came back Jonathan called me up and put me in a rental, which was approved for a day only telling me I'd have my car the next day. Well that next day came and to no surprise no phone call! I called the next day and of course Jonathan was off but Cole said it'd be done by 2. Got the call at 1:56. Picked the car up and again to no surprise I was disappointed. It was not the in dash Bluetooth system it was a parrot mki9200. Is it a Bluetooth yes. The one I was told we were getting NOPE! Then I realize they messed up the wiring and it turned my airbags off. Sooooo I called Cole that night and explained what happened yet again. The next day I was having surgery, Cole called and said they were coming to bring us a rental and take ours to fix it and figure out the Bluetooth situation. They picked it up from the surgery center and brought it back. We were told told the in dash can't be done, again being bull crapped saying" well they'd have to rewire everything because of the mirrors and all". Ha we have the most basic stock everything. So now we are stuck with an over $20,000 vehicle that we dislike and a crappy Bluetooth. Thanks Briggs for selling us what we DIDN'T want and making it seem like you were going to fix it. Don't waste your time with this place people. Make the drive somewhere else, with people who may actually care about you and your needs. Would I recommend??? Umm HECK NO!! read more

Buyer Beware......My husband and I had one of the worst experiences car shopping at Briggs in Skyway Dr. Manhattan.....esp. if u get a salesman named Zac.. We were looking for a Ford 150, found one at Briggs. The salesman Zac is a wet behind the ear, wanna be salesman, no kuth or maturity to be a salesman. Went for a test drive, great, got out of truck, let's get started to get this truck for u...Ran numbers,then Zac is like, you want to drive it over nite, we looked at each other and like yeah, well, sign right here and it's yours... OK,.....I mean , the way Zac kept pushing and pushing....Joe and I both said, well, we need to think about this and sleep on it....Zac then said, "well, what's the problem, why do y'all need to sleep on it!!!!!" Are u serious....... Needless, to say, we will never go back to a Briggs dealership......and FYI....went to Jim Clark and the way we were treated compared to the Briggs Auto experience was no pressure, no rushing us and we bought the Ford truck, we wanted and were treated like a "customer" should be treated.....
