Had vehicle work done. After picking up noticed AC was squeaking. Called to schedule them to look at it and was told they would do a courtesy inspection. When picking vehicle back up (also had other work done) they charged me for an inspection. They then accused me of lying. Terrible way to treat someone who has just spent $1,000 on other services. Will never be back to another Midas location again if this is how they treat their paying customers. read more

I took my truck in for a free brake inspection and they brought it out leaking brake fluid and completely inoperable. I had to have it towed from the Toyota dealership adjacent to Midas to a shop in Junction City (The Station / 10/10 would recommend. They fixed the damage done to my truck for roughly a quarter of what Midas tried to charge me) to have it fixed. I had noticed some of the sounds and feelings of thinning brake pads a few days prior and when they brought the truck out they effectively held me hostage with a quote well over 1k dollars. When I attempted to express my confusion and frustration with the turn of events the tech and supervisor both became very difficult, condescending and accusatory. I eventually moved my truck off their lot because I did not trust anyone there and I'm glad I did. The tow truck operator called me and said that when he was hooking up the truck some Midas employees attempted to stop him by saying I had an unpaid bill. None of this was true and that kind of behavior is beyond unprofessional and very suspect. My parting advice to anyone thinking of using their "services" is to GO ELSEWHERE. There are so many other options where you can go and be assured that you won't be taken advantage of. I am a 41 year old man who had my 8 year old daughter with me and they tried to take advantage of me. I can only imagine if you are a young student, spouse of a deployed Soldier or anyone with minimal automotive knowledge how they could attempt to fleece you. Hope this was helpful! read more

Beware! ! absolute worst customer service. Our college age daughter emergently had to have her car towed there. Her dad spoke with them on the phone after the problem had been diagnosed and was quoted a price. When our daughter went to pay, they charged her twice what we were quoted on the phone. When asked what happened they stated that our daughter okayed the amount. I'm not sure what you would expect from a college student when they get their car back. We trusted them to be honest and truthful, but I guess they are in the business of screwing over college aged girls. read more

Vehicle was taken to a separate repair shop after being at Midas. Midas charged $400 for "repair" of a wheelhouse pulley and serpentine belt. The car broke down a couple days later from the same problem and the new mechanic reported the issues were plain as day - stripped bolts in wheelhouse and wheelhouse (pulley) holes wallowed out. Midas committed fraud charging for a repair they obviously (other mechanics words) knew was not repaired. read more

The staff always goes out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. They provide the facts and never try to do unnecessary work which saves you money. Amazing service, and they brought me under the car to show me the issue of a bolt break that caused it to make the sound that I couldn't find when I investigated it myself the day prior. Although, when I walked in initially, the man at the counter stated "it sounds like a twig being run over" which I think it is obvious that I wouldn't be that stupid to not know what it sounds like with a twig. And I reiterated what I thought the problem was, and they test drove it and agreed they heard the sound. I would just say don't assume your customers are stupid enough to not understand what it sounds like for a twig being run over, when I have knowledge of car maintenance myself. The midas representative stated they were expecting a handicap client using a wheelchair and asked if I was handicap, offended, I asked would have parked in the handicap stall if I weren't? I will not recommend Midas at Manhattan, KS. These people have horrible customer service. They will not pay attention and listen to you on phone and even in person. I got an appointment with them about 4-5 days in advance and specifically told then that I do not need oil change but need a regular servicing of my car (tire rotation, and check breaks, tire alignment and car fluids). When I got to the shop at my appointed time (August 10, 2018), I was told that I have an appointment for oil change, and they do not have anyone else to look at my car for any other service. I noticed that the guy at reception treated another customer in the same way. He did not even listen to the problem of the customer and said we gona fix it and walked away. I guess they are just good at sending coupons and offers, but horrible at their job and service. Go some where else where people will atleast listen to your problem nicely. read more

Jason and staff at Midas are great! My car had terrible alignment issues and I had it looked at by two other places in town. After having a flat tire, and getting that repaired somewhere else due to it being after 6pm -- Midas mechanics discovered the tow truck driver bent a part on the driver side wheel. They took pictures for of the proof and helped me with an estimate so I could submit a claim. I found them to be knowledgeable reasonably priced and honest because they did not try and up sell me based on some general dealer recommendation they found on a computer. So, I highly recommend them and will be back. The only reason it's 4 stars is due to not having access to their courtesy vehicle, would've been helpful on a 90 degree day. read more

This place is the new standard!! Professional, polite and helpful. I will not take our vehicles to another shop in Manhattan. I went in yesterday for a brake inspection and got some not so good news, but I was shown and walked through everything my vehicle was needing, out the floor with the technician and the store manager. They made me feel comfortable with any work they thought was needed, and did not push our insist I buy any service I didn't want. They are professional to one another, and they treat ALL their customers with dignity and respect. They take time to listen to the customers instead of pushing for upsales like so many other shops. They were very flexible as far as payment options, and they always give us a military discount (so many places do not). This is what my daughter posted this morning about her experience with this company. It seems they tried to take advantage of her since she is a woman!!! This morning I took my car to Midas in Manhattan to get the squeak in my front breaks fixed. Midas came back with this quote not only saying I needed the front rotors completely replaced and the back as well, a serpentine belt and spark plugs. I Declined their services and took my vehicle to Autoskills to find that my rotors are perfectly fine, break pads are fine, serpentine belt is BRAND NEW, and Midas didn't even open the spark plug caps! So overall the autoskills team and I fixed my squeaky breaks for $20.00. When I do go to buy new breaks and rotors it'll be less than $100. ............ read more

Took a vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. After getting home there was an oil leaking under the vehicle. They either spilled oil during the process or did not tighten the filter. Took it back in the next day and THREE DIFFERENT TIMES they said the work is done, and the oil still was not cleaned up. To add to that, tires were not rotated upon request either. After the fourth time my vehicle was on the lift- they called up the manager. He finally cleaned the vehicle up himself. However, the manager would not accept fault and continued to state that everyone makes mistakes. Unacceptable to make excuses when things are continually not done well or correctly. Will not be coming back to Midas... ever. Ironically, there was another customer there that had gotten work done the day prior and they were back for problems. Ended up being refunded for the oil change, but that doesn't change the fact that they were not willing to accept fault face to face. read more

I've been to other Midas locations and my experience was not great, so I was a little skeptical going to this place. I've been here 4 times with 2 different vehicles and always received great customer service every time. The #1 reason that I keep coming back is they seem to be honest. They let me know things that were an immediate concern as well as things that might be an issue in the future. They were not pushy and communicated well. I had a dealership take a look and nothing was wrong with my car. Complete scam at this location. I bring my car here for oil changes. The waiting room is clean and the employees are very friendly. They explain everything they checked in a way that is easy to understand. They're usually pretty quick but I always make an appointment. They also fixed my rear windshield wiper. When I noticed that it had broken again while on my way out of town I stopped in and they were very concerned and offered to fix it again as soon as they could get the part that day. Overall, these are very nice people and I would definitely take my car here again. read more

I went to their shop this morning and got a really expensive quote to replace a window reg with motor ($312 for labor - that is insane for service that can be done in 1-1.5 h). In addition, the window can go up and down, it doesnt go all the way up (it stays 1 in of closing completely) - so the motor is working. (guess what? just fixed my window using a silicone spray). Another thing they wanted to charge me $137.99 for a multifunction switch that you can buy online for $30. read more

When I went to turn on my A/C in my pick up, it blew warm, So I Called Jason at Midas for advice. He said to bring it in and have it checked. While in the waiting room, Jason came in and told me compressor was not working. He gave me cost and said they could have a new comp. on and done by 6pm. I told him to go for it. Got a call from Jason at 5:30,,,Tommy, your trucks ready. I picked it up and drove to the dam and back. blows 48 degrees now. The team at Midas know their job,s and they do them well. As I was driving to California, my air conditioning stopped working on a day of 98 degrees. Since the nearest auto mechanic was Midas, I called to see if they would help me and the told me they would squeeze me in. They did a diagnostic and could not find anything wrong with my air conditioning. It was working again. The mechanic checked my oil and tire pressure to make sure all was well for me to get back on the road. I offered to pay for the diagnostic but they refused to charge me even when I insisted to compensate them for their time. They showed me such kindness. I recommend them. read more

I went in to purchase a battery for my car the employees were honest and said I could save money by going to the dealership since my car was under warranty. I had no idea I even had a warranty! My son took his truck in for an oil change before leaving for spring break. During his drive down to the beach his truck developed engine trouble. Turned out the oil was 4 quarts low. Now we get to buy a new engine and Midas says it couldn't have been them that was responsible for the oil being low. The dealership we took the truck to said there is no oil leak. Typical he said she said and since we don't have proof we are stuck. I suggest you think before taking your vehicle to these guys. My experience will cost me an additional $5,000 and they could care less. read more

Finally, an auto service shop in Kansas that has great customer service. I just took my car in today, and hurried back home to write this review, because they definitely deserve it. I've tried at least three different places before Midas, and they all didn't quite measure up. Each one either had terrible customer service, insisted upon sending my business elsewhere because a VW is apparently too complicated to work on, or was only open M-F from 9am to 5pm. The Midas on Seth Child is completely the opposite. I worked with Ryan for the most part, and he is a model employee. From the minute I walked into the door to the time I left, he was courteous, helpful, informative and communicative. He greeted me as soon as I walked in and expressed a willingness to expedite it if I were on a schedule. Seeing as it was a Saturday, and these guys are actually open on Saturday's, I was in a position where I had some time to spare. But, nevertheless, the consideration is much appreciated. He kept me posted throughout the process, bringing me in at one point to explain what the issue was and helping me to avoid a costly labor charge. Upon the conclusion of servicing, they pulled the car up front for me, and Ryan helped show me how to check for similar issues myself. Midas even had a $10 off special going on that he could've easily not given me if he didn't want to. But he brought it to my attention and topped it off by mentioning that I'd save less money had he given me the alternative military discount. I really can't see things getting much better. To offer Midas some constructive criticism, if they need it, I'd mention two issues that are hardly deal breakers: 1) The oil change took two hours even though I had an appointment, but I've been other places where it took three. 2) The online appointment booking option states they will contact you within one business hour, but I never heard back from anyone until I called them myself. But besides those, I will definitely be coming back if I ever have additional issues, and would strongly recommend them to anyone. read more

Horrible Communication. Horrible Customer Service. Will not be returning, do NOT recommend. I made an appointment for an oil change a week before and was told that the service should only take an hour. I came to my scheduled appointment on time at 10am and was told again my oil change should only take around an hour. Two hours after I had dropped of my car and I receive no call.I had to call to receive an update on my car. Come to find out they hadn't even started on it but they promised to "prioritize" my car. Two more hours go by and I have to call again to receive yet another update that my car hadn't even been touched yet. I went in to pick up my car at 2PM without my scheduled service started or completed. BERNARD gave me the excuse that they prioritize customers that wait for their vehicles and while I can understand that, I am so frustrated that no one informed me of that "policy". Your employees should be practicing transparency and if they can't work on something just say it instead of wasting my entire day and then showing no remorse or responsibility for their actions. I will not be returning to Midas after this terrible display of what they consider to be "customer service". read more

Midas has been caring for my vehicle for the past couple of years. Their staff is always friendly and helpful. Recently I took in my 2008 Ford Escape to have them check out an odd noise coming from the front left wheel. After a quick check they found it was originating from a front strut that they had replaced about a year before. They had to have me re-schedule the appointment, but corrected the problem by replacing the new strut - no questions asked, no charge to my account. Well done! Customer service is what scores points. I would give them 1 star but I got a $10 discount. I had an appointment and got here 10 mins early. I was checked in and waited 40 mins before someone said anything about my car. The attendant explained that my car "was good" and I paid the money, and i was told my car will be brought around. At this point I've been sitting here for 1 hour and still no car. My guess is that they have you pay then they start working. I don't have an issue with the price but I don't think I should have to wait over 1 hour for an oil change. read more

I took my car to get my tires aligned. They called me back in the garage my car was in. Showed my how my tie rods were "broken", my wheel bearings needed replaced, and my emergency brake was "sticking". To fix everything (not the emergency brake) they wanted just over $1,600 in parts and labor. The parts were literally at least 5 times the price for what Autozone was selling them at. On top of this the parts they showed me that were "broken" were in good shape, just dirty and used, but not broken. Don't go here if your life depended on it. Pick some where else! read more
