It is very likely that this is the worst bagel place in New Jersey. The bagels here taste like they were taken out of yesterday's trash at Dunkin Donuts and, for some reason, the prices are way off base ($20 for one bagel with butter, one bagel with lox and cream cheese, 2 small coffees, and 2 gatorades... yikes!). We were the only people in the store and our bagels took 15 minutes to make; literally seemed like the the person behind the counter had never toasted a bagel in her entire life (which, based on the turnover mentioned in some of these reviews on here, could be entirely likely). read more

While visiting Brigantine, we stopped in this bagel shop for breakfast. My husband and I were pretty starving so we ordered the omelettes, we both commented on how good they were. We got to pick 3 ingredients each to put in our omelettes and you get potatoes and bread with the omelettes. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it was a Sunday morning (11;30 ish)and there was only 1 employee, yep, 1, working. The poor young lady was doing everything from taking the orders, answering the phones and cooking on the grill, all by herself. She commented that her boss was there earlier but had left. Who leaves 1 person to run a place? For safety reasons, this is not smart, and it doesn't make good business sense. If ever in the area again, I will definitely stop in again, and hopefully the place will be staffed properly and the food will still be good. read more

Haven't even tried the bagel yet but have to comment on the employees/owners attitudes. Why are you all so miserable? Haven't you ever heard that you are always on stage in front of the customer? You less than friendly to your customers but pretty cranky to each other too. Why would any kid want to work here being talked to like this? Great bagels... among the best in Brigantine and good egg sandwiches too. This place is not fancy. It is more of a deli-style joint with a few small tables, so perhaps that explains the not so high ratings from others that may have been looking for a fancy Starbucks or DD type place. They have a nice variety of bagels and quick breakfast items that seem to be baked fresh and put out steadily throughout the morning. The bagels are not super doughy, they are a bit lighter with nice texture and flavor. We have compared four other popular bagel options on the island and these are our top choice so far. They also have a really great assortment of cream cheese with good/nice experienced staff. The staff, while typically very hurried by the morning rush(es), seems as friendly and helpful as this "quick order" type of environment enables. Again, this is not a sit down diner, so be prepared to step in line, order your bagels or breakfast sandwich from the big baskets in the display case and be on your way. Happy bageling! read more

I am new to the area so went today for breakfast. I ordered an omelette with ham, cheese, snd tomato and a medium coffee. Woman told me I can pay when finished. When she rung it up I was told it was $17!! Yikes! I guess I should have asked the price before I ordered, but have never had such a pricey meal at a bagel place. Crazy! read more

I ordered bagel sandwiches ahead of time. The wait was very long. They shorted us one sandwich. When we tried calling there was no answer. We called again they hung up and another time and the line was disconnected. We are extremely disappointed in the quality of the sandwiches. It pretty much tasted like a Dunkin' Donuts breakfast sandwich. It is important to be able to handle the volume of the holiday weekend when in the food industry. read more

Went in looking to try something different than my usual plan bagel with cream cheese, the owner recommended strawberry cream cheese on a blueberry bagel. Sounded good and tasted even better! So glad I found this place, looking forward to plenty more blueberry bagels with strawberry cream cheese this summer! read more

The Best bagel place I have ever been to. The service is professional, courteous and prompt. The food is delicious and the bagels are too.

1st visit months ago - so so service. Sandwich nothing special. 2nd - lady was very nice and suggested the sandwich. When my spouse was asked for $12-something for his coffee and sandwich, he was floored. Since moving here in June (we can see this place across the lagoon from our house), we go the extra distance to Pirate's Den. Great prices, creative omelettes ($4 breakfast sandwiches). We're not the type to drive across town to save a buck but this place isn't even on our radar - just nothing exceptional. read more

Understaffed and incompetent. Waited in a line that you would have thought was for a rollercoaster at Six Flags because of how long it was. It was 10am on a Saturday, you should know that's your peak hour and staff accordingly. It's not that hard of a concept. The bagel was good but the service was atrocious. read more

Very odd. Walked in and it was busy. Always seems like they are training a new staff member. Owner/mgr is usually yelling at his staff like they are doing something wrong. You are making bagels (at least we thought you were). The day we went, they ran out of bagels and a staffer was sent to ACME to purchase bagels. It was clear that the two staff ladies were not happy with each other. The younger girl proceeded to wait on me and never smiled never said hello just rang up my bagels and said 631, I gave her $20.31 she gave me $17.30 change which was clearly wrong Amin the She gave me too much change. I told her she gave me the wrong change and she had an attitude and got mad about it I then said you gave me too much money you only owe me $14 and she grabbed it from me and then gave me the correct change and walked away not so much as a thank you for not taking extra money..... really ignorant! We stumbled onto this little spot. Glad we didn't read the reviews first. My family and i had a great experience at Brigantine Bagel. The place was very clean. The food was delicious. ..we ordered pancakes bacon, pastrami and egg bagel, steak and egg bagel and a sausage and fried egg on toast. The bagels were fresh and the service was excellent. We spoke to the owner who happend to be there today and he was quite hospitible. Go here instead of WaWa and check it out for yourselves. read more

Possibly the worst bagel store experience of a lifetime. I had enough time to re download the yelp App, recover my password, and now write this review. My group had a hard time not walking behind the counter and helping them figure out how to make bagel sandwiches. After waiting 25 minutes for the 4 bacon egg and cheese bagels, they really added to the experience by forgetting the egg and cheese on one of the sandwiches. The bagels tasted worse than a 7 hour stale wawa sandwich from next door...I actually went to wawa after this experience and got a smoothie because I was so distraught. read more

No one seemed to know what they were doing, it looked as if new staff was being trained & the owner/mgr was barking orders like a drill sergeant. This place could have had so much potential... Went around 12:15 on a Sunday with only two additional customers in the building-- so not busy. We ordered two meat, egg, and cheese sandwiches on bagels. We waited SO long for these simple sandwiches. And the workers were not being professional during our time waiting. They were just so loud, screaming, and being obnoxious-- not what you want to be witnessing as a customer. The sandwiches were $7 each and ended up being mediocre. I stopped going here 4 years ago bc the service was so horribly and for some reason I decided to give them another shot. Not only did I wait 30 mins for 3 bagels sandwiches, the bagels must have been 2 days old or from the freezer. They were horrible and stale!!! I cannot believe this place is still open! read more

Best bagels in Brigantine. These are New York style bagels made fresh on Premise. Great sandwiches and the coffee is excellent.

we went here out of reccomendation of friends.. we got everything bagel breakfast sandwhiches and they were great! the staff was working fast to get all the orders out due to it being a busy sunday morning! we waited only about 10 minutes with no call ahead! This place is overpriced and their bagels are not great. I've had breakfast sandwiches and they are a little skimpy and sloppily made. I will say the coffee is pretty good but other then that not impressive but really no other bagel shops on the island so gotta take what I can get. read more

Dirty understaffed and unsanitary. An older woman short hair on this past Sunday was so rude to staff not to mention as I watched her make bagel sandwiches she drop food on the floor picked it up and continued to use it. Not to mention how she continually used the same knife sandwich after sandwich with out cleaning if off. Yuck!!! Very unsanitary and crossed contamination. Female employee with the glasses and dark hair was MISERABLE AND RUDE. Shop was out of ingredients one hour after opening. After a ridiculously long wait the "found " some of the ingredients they had "run out of" Year after year this place continues to get worse. Last year I got a bagel with rancid cream cheese. Other guests at my shore house have had issues as well. The one day I got just a dozen bagels there was a blonde haired employee was nice and patient and helpful, but the bagels weren't really anything to shake a stick at. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an onion bagel, at 9:30 am in a Sunday. I guess the staff can't tell the difference between onion and garlic, because to my unhappy surprise, when I got home, they made my sandwich on a garlic bagel.
