One of the most beautiful places we stayed at. So close to town and yet so isolated, peaceful and amazingly beautiful. Dave took care of us so nicely, and made my wife's birthday an absolute joy. Would love to come back

Just stayed at the Bed & Breakfast 3/20-3/22. This home is absolutely beautiful! Upon arrival we were greeted promptly by Dave, one of the inn keepers. My husband and I stayed at the Bed & Breakfast to celebrate our 5th anniversary. When we got to our room the "Good Friends" suite we had a cute little "Happy Anniversary" sign as well as some chocolates. Our room included a private porch and huge jacuzzi tub! We definitely took advantage of both. We also had a mini fridge (stocked with soda and water) and a coffee machine (with teas, coffee, and hot chocolate). The great thing about the "Good Friends" suite was that it is the only room located downstairs, thereby adding some more privacy to your stay. The common areas were nice. There was a porch with rocking chairs to look out over the gorgeous view. Upstairs there was a small common area with a large selection of DVDs and a puzzle to work on if one wanted to. There was also peanut M&Ms, pretzels, and cookies available in the common areas during the day. Breakfast was good. The first day we had baked grapefruit, waffles with fruit, AMAZING bacon, and were offered an ice cream sundae for dessert. The second morning we had fruit with yogurt and homemade granola (which was very good!), and an egg casserole type dish (I can't remember the name). We also liked visiting with their dogs, Deuce and Tucker, and their cat Lilly. The pets all stayed in a separate area, away from guests. The only negatives I found were some of the amenities were lacking (when compared to other bed & breakfasts I've been too) and the decor wasn't my style (a little too early 90s for me). All in all I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing weekend in small town America. Dave and Karen, the inn keepers, are so very accommodating and a very sweet couple. You can definitely tell they are hard working people!

We stayed at this BnB located just outside of the Lexington city limits for our 1 year wedding anniversary. It rained most of our trip, but that did provide us with a double rainbow at sunset on the first night. The view from the veranda is amazing as the house is located atop a hill looking out into the Blue Ridge Mountains. Dave and Karen were very hospitable and we were greeted as we parked. Dave also took the time to give us maps and offer recommendations on places to visit and dining options. I would definitely recommend staying here and visiting the historic town of Lexington.

What a way to close out my birthday weekend, none other with a delicious meal at Local Chop and…read moreGrill House. Located in Downtown Harrisonburg, there menu features fresh, hand selected seasonal foods, organically grown produce Our waitress Abby, was phenomenal. She handled our party of 13 like a pro. When I return, I highly recommend this young lady. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, gave recommendations and had really good customer service. She is excellent with large parties. The ambience here is really nice, Food was delicious, the only dish I was not a fan of was the crab dip. Everyone loved the brussel sprouts, and my steak was cooked perfectly. If your in the Harrisonburg area, highly recommend

Food came out quickly. While here I had the following. Crab dip-not my fave. The flavor reminded me of hamburger helper. There was hardly any crab but, there was tuna. Brussel sprouts-deelish. I love the cook and seasoning of them. Crispy but tender. NY strip steak- juicy, adequately seasoned and cooked to perfection. I ordered medium and that's what I got. The steak itself was a nice serving. The asparagus was deelish as well. The dish could use a few more stalks. To wash it down I had a glass of the montepulciano. A dry red with a sweet bouquet. Not overly sweet though. You should check them out if you're in the area.
