The chocolate is outstanding. If you go to the storefront however, be prepared for an unhappy staff. Top down- this surely reflects owner/management style as these folks were certainly working hard- just seemed unhappy. Better to order online. read more

Oh, gosh, I really love Bridgewater. I'd long been a fan of the peanut butter pucks, and their caramels - creamy caramel and frost bites are my faves. I also enjoyed the pretzels and mixed toffees. However, last time I visited, I tried one of their marshmallows. HEAVEN. Unbelievable, and I'm not even a huge marshmallow fan. The packaging is excellent (and quite sturdy, if you're thinking of shipping--which is expensive, so if you can pick them up at the store, it's better!). Highly, highly recommended! NB: This location is the factory store. There is another location on the same road a few miles down that is the official store. Both sell the same items, but there's a bit of a discount here. read more

I used to send all of my clients chocolates from another company. A friend of mine manufactured all the boxes for Bridgewater chocolates so I decided I will give them a try and sent about 50 boxes to all of my clients, which was a great move on my part, I was shocked at the number of, wonderful comments I got for my customers. I have been buying Bridgewater chocolates for over two decades now, and I have never once been disappointed. They are very rich in flavor and you will be smiling every time you try one. my four daughters, give me hints, every holiday about getting them more Bridgewater chocolates, they also tell me they want the big cans of the chocolate pretzels which are absolutely delicious. I'll start with the one good chocolate from our boxes -- the chocolate covered toffee-- very, very good. The other chocolates were below average. The caramel and nut ones so hard that you couldn't bite into one without possibly breaking a tooth. This place was written up as best chocolates in CT? Maybe their presentation but as for quality - wery let down after spending $78 for one 9 piece box and one slightly larger. read more

The customer service is one of the worst I have ever encountered. I received multiple emails for mother's day chocolates from them, so I decided to order a box for my mother. I ordered them on April 29th. The message in the box says "Happy Mother's Day Grandma." Yet, these idiots can't even manage to get them out on time. I am furious. They won't even refund shipping costs. I spent $70 for my mother not to have a present for mother's day. read more

This is indeed very good chocolate, probably the best you can find in the area. I particularly like their 72% dark chocolate (it is said that around 70% is the best percentage for dark chocolate). As much as I enjoyed it, it isn't my favorite chocolate in the Northeast, and I do have several places at which I can buy equally good chocolate at more competitive rates. So Bridgewater Chocolate remains an occasional decadent treat. read more

Exquisite chocolates - especially the chocolate covered toffee. Geez. Could easily become an addiction. The packaging is absolutely beautiful - perfect for a gift. (We originally received as a July 4 gift that came with a beautiful, wired ribbon with stars and stripes. So lovely we immediately ordered for a family member.) And because the chocolates arrive packaged in dry ice, there is no worry about spoilage. This company has it together. Class act. Bridgewater Chocolate is exquisite - it's rich, silky, and melts in your mouth like you wouldn't believe. I'm an incorrigible chocoholic and it's always been one of my favorite indulgences. Don't miss the toffee - it's out of this world. I just wish they would back down on the prices a little bit. I was more than willing to hand over a few extra dollars for their chocolate bars - I mean, how can you resist the milk chocolate with cranberries, or the white chocolate with lime and coconut? - but it's starting to get a little ridiculous. I'll buy it on rare occasions or as a gift, but I find that there are cheaper alternatives that still taste pretty good. A tip I recently figured out: if you want a pound of assorted chocolates, you can forfeit the fancy blue box and fill a less decorative box with your own assortment for $10 less (bringing the total down to $30 or so). Of course, the nice packaging is good for a gift, but if you're just planning on scarfing it down in the peace and quiet of your own home, opt for the simple box and actually choose what kinds of chocolate you want. I believe it works for the half-pound box as well. read more

Hands down, best chocolates I've ever had. The first time you try it you can taste the quality of ingredients (doesn't even compare to Ghirardelli or Godiva). There is a variety to choose from or you can make custom boxes of whatever you'd like. These chocolates make the perfect gift for any occasion and it's all prepared, packaged, and bowed beautifully in gold-hinged boxes and matching bags. If you are shipping the chocolates, they are packaged with dry-ice so they always arrive perfectly. Not only do they make their own chocolate they make their toffee (huge seller-what they're "known for"), caramel, peanut butter, marzipan and marshmallow! They have different percentages of dark chocolate for anyone's preference. Everything is hand made and packaged by actual people, not machines. In all, phenomenal product and the best part for gifts-they do all the work for you (including nice gift note cards). Personal side note: I've never had anything like their toffee, I was never a fan of toffee but this stuff melts in your mouth (literally) and not difficult to bite or chew at all. 100% recommend. read more

FABULOUS. GO! The quality of the Bridgewater Chocolate products is unparalleled, and they are truly delicious. The caramel is silky smooth, with a rich, deep flavor. The chocolate is mouthwatering, and just sweet enough. Favorites include the milk and dark chocolate covered toffee, milk chocolate covered macadamia nuts, chocolate covered cherries (very different from what you are accustomed to), and I even buy milk and dark chocolate "pallets" to use in baking (you have to ask for them). Packaging is gorgeous, and will make you look like a genius. Very well-priced for the quality and will spoil you for just about anything else. read more

extra fancy packaging.......................................... . milk chocolates can be in large pieces and i dont find that fancy. flavor and textures are good, --some-- more delicate compared to See's, and maybe less sweet also... but if you need to send good chocolates with extra fancy packaging ... well... thats not for me. edit: the box of truffles is damn boring, everything looks the same, plus there's no little booklet to know what the f i'm eating. edit2: quite unsatisfactory overall, ate half the boxes and no further appeal to finish... read more
