We are making Lobster Fra Diavlo for din and we already got fresh Maine Lobstahs lol from a local fish monger but we needed to get all of the rest of the ingredients for the dish as well as making a pan bagnat for lunch (Niçoise tuna sandwich). We found all the beautiful and fresh ingredients we needed as this store is not lacking for want. I also got a couple of bouquets of fresh flowers and the single genius flower bunches were beautiful but I wanted a premade bouquet and the selections of premades were all starting to look a bit wilty sadly; maybe time for a sale to clear them out. This grocery store is very clean and nicely stocked. There were some ladies promotion vegan meat and they were offering samples but all the different departments had their own fair share of nice tempting goodies. It was packed and parking was tough but they are calling for some decent snow tomorrow (up to 18") so that didn't help the weekend rush. A nice grocery store that our family that lives here are regular and we frequents when we visit.

I love the pre-made chicken cutlets but all of it is very good. The meats are usually good, ground beef is very good. We were hoping to hit up a farmer's market on our trip to Bethel on Memorial Day weekend but could…read morenot find one in the area on Sunday, so we looked up some "farm stands" and Holbrook Farm popped up on our search. I originally pooh-poohed the place going solely by the Googly pics but OMG so glad Steve chose this place! Many plants and beautiful irises outside. BUT...I stepped INSIDE the store and the first thing I noticed was the bakery section. Okay, so only one item was gluten free (local bakery offerings) but they were lavender meringues and they were only $1 each! A super unique treat for me! Steve found the freezer with the meat. YOU MUST BUY THE MEAT! Buy ALL the BACONS! We fried up the Irish bacon today (had to find out how to cook it just right) and it was soooo good. Very different and much much much better than any store bought bacon. We also purchased Canadian bacon to try later this week. The tomatos were the first of the season. I cut one up for a tomato, spinach and brie omelette and the tomato flavor stood out. Very very good flavor! I would love (and hope to) return for produce this summer...and for eggs. Some of the items were a bit pricey for us (bacon was a steal for the quality, though) like the bourbon maple syrup and the duck pastrami however these are top notch products I have not seen anywhere else and honestly, the syrup is on my shopping list now if I do ever get back to Holbrook Farm. The parking lot was decently cleared and the store was fairly empty but the employees were very happily there at work and I am not joking. Rick in particular heard us looking over some granola - a necessity when you're snowed in haha- and he noticed that we were reading ingredients to find the healthiest choice and he went out of his way to bring us two kinds from two other isles that were on totally point with our ingredient wish list! Like WOW such hospitality and service and he had such a big, friendly smile the entire time he was assisting us. Then, at checkout, Rob, who is possibly the manager, was also very friendly and helpful and went out of his way to ensure that we found everything we needed. They were fully stocked and it is a nice, large grocery store with everything you could possibly need. I'll have to go back because my first time I was overwhelmed by all there was to see and do. First, there were a lot of sample stations so I loved that. Next, there are so many interactive displays with chickens singing and flowers playing instruments...also someone dressed as a cow was schmoozing with toddlers. I got some great food there and the prices also seemed reasonable. Their bakery section stood out to me as well as their dairy. Will definitely check it out again if I'm on the east side of town.

They have everything, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Korean, Jamaican seasonings and Filipino groceries. Owners are so nice here and there were times they'd give you free stuff like a can of coconut milk etc. Just 6 years ago the banh mi was $4.50 now it's $8.50 and roast duck was $10 now it's $20. Whoah! How times have changed. I used to get 4 banh mi under $20. Wow. How I took all that for granted. Now gotta spend almost 50% more. Thanks inflation and horrible economic times. But..... I can't survive without my Asian food. Place is clean, organized and they're still working on restocking the shelves.

I've bought their fresh pizza dough many times and it is better than everywhere else - including Stew's and Costco. The food court people are friendly as is the lady at the fish counter. Friday's fried shrimp special is 40 pieces and made fresh to order while you shop. The baked goods are fresh, the special sales on things like Carbone sauce are a real bargain and the reward points add up to real dollar savings.
