The food was served very hot. We ordered the smoked turkey platter with two sides--collard greens and fried okra. Also the pulled chicken sandwich and the brisket sandwich. All were very flavorful. The turkey was juicy and a generous portion. The collards had some large fatty chunks a bit off-putting, but the flavor was true southern style. The fried okra was greasy, probably due to an over-used fryer. But the cleanliness and friendliness made the place a real find. We would come back if we lived here. The place was filled with locals--always a good sign. I didn't like that the bathrooms were right next to dining tables, but there was no way to fix that. They are large enough for handicap access--always a plus.

Bar bbq in Lexington by far! Prices are great and selection is extensive. I've been multiple times and gotten 4 different dishes and they have all been solid every time. Will continue to visit!

I attended Bridgett's kitchen one afternoon after attending a wine festival. We were starving, and needed food quickly and that's what we got! The green beans were so well seasoned with a kick to them. The meatloaf was nice and juicy with a nice smoky flavor. Bridgett was so kind and she came outside to talk to us and when one of our friends caught a cramp she went and got pickle juice etc to help him out. They were some of the kindest individuals and the staff was exceptional

Food and service were impeccable, prices were unbeatable, taste was unbelievable. Sweet potato casserole is worth the drive for me. 10/10 recommend.

I am not mad about this BBQ. It feels like one of those places where everyone that works there, albeit server, chef or owner, actually has a passion for what they are involved with. The demographic was in line with the general census population for the area. Sweet potato side was more of a sweet pudding but not complaining. The meats made sense.

Lexington Barbecue was a fun stop with friends and exactly the kind of place where it is all about…read morethe food. The dining room is nothing fancy. There is a counter area when you first walk in and booths and tables in a dining room. Our servers were friendly and it seemed like all of the servers were checking in with us to see if we needed any refills. I had the chopped pork with slaw, served simply on a cardboard plate. There is nothing polished or pretentious about this place, but the BBQ was great. Even better were the hush puppies. Honestly, I could have made a meal out of those alone. I did not try the desserts, but others at the table said they were very good. Overall, this was a casual, enjoyable stop with great BBQ and hush puppies worth remembering.

This was my second time to Lexington Barbecue, the first time years ago with a local buddy I had…read moreplayed golf with. I was underwhelmed that time but thought maybe it was because they were out of something I had wanted...a normal circumstance at bbq places. So when driving through recently, I decided to give it another go. What I realized this time is that the only barbecue product they have is pork shoulder...no ribs, no chicken, no brisket. (They do have fried fish) It is very lightly smoked and the sauce is a very thin watery substance. I understand that this is Carolina bbq....the place was packed, everyone looked happy, and someone looked over the divider and asked me if this was the best food I had ever had?? I was polite, but realize now that I am more of a Texas bbq guy....meat being really smoked....perhaps a little bit charred with a thick sauce, sometimes sweet or spicy but always with a decidedly hickory flavor. The place is very friendly and clean, we were seated promptly and the food came out quickly. Great fries and hush puppies!!

I admit this is not the style of BBQ I'm used to. Growing up in the north, I am more used to…read moreheavier sauces and having more meats available than just pulled pork. But I will start with this: the service was as friendly as it gets. People talk about Southern hospitality and that's what customers find in this restaurant. Smiles, charm, asking if you have any questions, the whole she-bang. I ordered the coarse chopped BBQ plate, since I am not a fan at all of super fine cut up pork to where it resembles cole slaw. Hey, I want to know it's meat when I see it! The pork tasted delightful. Super tender, a thin, light tomato/vinegar sauce. I never expected to have leftovers, but I wound up taking half the pork home! The meal came with two sides, and I opted for baked beans and potato salad. The beans were pretty standard, but the potato salad was quite good since it was a mustard based salad instead of mayo based. I went with rolls over hush puppies and I basically got two hamburger buns, so that may not have been my best decision. And I ordered an Arnold Palmer to drink, and they not only gave me a foam cup of it, they also brought me a mini-pitcher on the side so I could pour my own refills! Very over the top and very impressive! And my bill was only $19 before tip! Good value, good food, good service.
