When my doctor wanted me to go to Centinella ER because that's where he would see me for a procedure I was hesitant. I was admitted to the hospital and I must say I have been pleasantly surprised as I have received excellent care. All the staff has been professional and kind.

My mother was brought to Centinela Hospital through the ER and admitted for a blocked artery that…read morerequired surgery. From that point forward, the care and communication were unacceptable. The physician never contacted me--her designated proxy and caregiver--before or after the procedure. After surgery, no one explained how the operation went or what the ongoing plan of care would be. On every visit I had to specifically request that the doctor call me; those calls never happened. After two to three days of visiting, most of the nurses still seemed unaware of her actual condition or that she has dementia. They repeatedly said she was "not communicating," even though I had already told them she is hard of hearing in addition to having dementia. Basic information about her was not being passed on or acted upon. It felt as though nothing would move forward unless I constantly asked questions and pushed. Staff frequently shifted responsibility to someone else. The overall experience was far below any reasonable standard of patient care. I requested a transfer, and that process became its own ordeal. Case manager Cherylle showed zero people skills. She was rude, arrogant, and acted as if she did not want to do her job. Doctors Ayala, Acharya, and Matthew Hasso were equally difficult to reach, uncommunicative, and, in my experience, dishonest and disrespectful toward the family. I cannot recommend this hospital. The combination of poor communication, lack of continuity of information about a dementia patient, and unprofessional behavior from both nursing/case-management staff and the physicians named above made an already stressful situation significantly worse. Families should be prepared to advocate aggressively or seek care elsewhere if possible.

I was treated with respect and an understanding that being an addict does not define me or make me a bad person but rather I'm a victim of the pharmacology of the drug. Dr. Harris likened my sickness to that of oncology patient. Cancer patients get all the sympathy in the world, whereas my disease results in me getting treated like I'm not even human, oftentimes by medical "professionals". So it's refreshing to get treated with compassion for a change.

We would sit with him for long periods of time, and no staff checked on him, repositioned him, or provided basic care like oral hygiene or suctioning. His room was often dark, his mouth extremely dry, and he showed signs of pain when moved, which was very concerning. Staff members like claire and matthew dont care. My family and I had to step in and do things ourselves that should never fall on family members in a medical facility. I would not trust it with anyone I love. Please think carefully before choosing this facility.

My father arrived to the facility in stable condition and no complications at all, two days later he was back in the hospital. This is due to extremely unprofessional and careless care by staff, including individuals identified as Matthew, Claire, and Rogelio, among others. During multiple visits, I spent hours at a time with my father, and no staff member came in to check on him, reposition him, provide tracheostomy suctioning, cleaning, or perform even the most basic monitoring or care. And whenever you'd ask someone a question they either didn't want to do their job or had no clue what's going on. When I would go and ask the staff to do certain things, I'd find them on their phones watching Netflix and they'd respond with an attitude every single time. Not once did someone make me or my family feel welcome in our visit to my father and only god knows how bad they treated my father when we weren't there. Please avoid this place at all costs.

They assured me I could start working and pay later the very second day I woke up they asked for money. When I said I had none the women known as "sis" was mean mad I did not have money. We were starving. There is no food. they made us work for rent moving furniture from old tenants. Telling us she will work is someplace in he business. While working us, she would stand there and point and yelling where she wants items. While we're moving this she's talking about how ungrateful everyone how good for is y'all can't get things right she stated very verbally abusive. when you're coming from a place that we come from going into this was so scary when I asked to go to the Social Security office so I could take care of myself. She bullied me. She presented me with a fight and I only asked if I could go alone because I didn't feel comfortable with her she told me no and if I did go to the Social Security office, I was kicked out. I told her I had to go to this appointment. I went to my appointment came home and all of my belongings were outside. so I thought my $200 chi straightener was broken. Clothing of mine was not returned, and I only went with a few things. From his CNA's to the rehab dept that had him walking again, treatment nurse that cured his wounds, the social worker Juan that was always available to speak with us constantly (sorry if we bugged alot lol) even after hours he was available to answer our questions. This place really has a great team & great communication among eachother and made everything possible for my grandpa to be able to return home happily, in great health & to continue living. (Based on their weight loss and tooth decay, we know dead people are addicted to meth.) When Pride Health Services' one legitimate addiction counselor refused to sign off on Medicaid billings for certain clients, because she thought it was fraudulent, they fired her and told her to blow her self-righteous whistle somewhere else. Now that's client centered service! Pride Health Services should be commended for taking advantage of a Public Health program designed to help people suffering from addiction. I am certain Pride Health Services would have more positive yelp reviews if dead people could write them.
