The physical therapy team is truly top-notch. They were patient, encouraging, and tailored a program that dramatically improved her mobility. The nurses and CNAs are equally wonderful--they were compassionate, responsive to her needs, and treated her with great dignity. The only major drawback during her stay was the quality of the meals. The food was often unappetizing, bland, cold to bad. While the medical care was five-star, the dining experience could use significant improvement. Overall, I highly recommend Sherman Oaks Rehab for its excellent rehabilitation services and dedicated staff. If you have a loved one staying here, I highly recommend bringing in outside food or snacks to supplement the meals.

This facility has 1 star out of a possible 5 stars on medicare.gov which is a "much below average"…read morequality rating by Medicare standards. Of those 38, 13 have 1 star Medicare ratings and another 12 have 2 stars. 66% of their facilities are rated by Medicare as substandard, due primarily to serious health department violations. Longwood Management operates this way intentionally. Poor care improves their profit margins. When the health department heat becomes too much at one facility, they move dangerous staff to another of their properties. That's happening now at this facility. Patients and their families - beware. And add the California Department of Public Health to your contacts, because you'll be opening investigations into this place frequently. My appointment took place at the Sherman Oaks office, where I received a warm welcome from Dr. Conwisar and his staff. Everyone was very supportive, and I couldn't have asked for a more positive experience. Not only did they truly listen when I answered their questions, but Dr. Conwisar went through great length to familiarize himself with my case. After examining my shoulder and testing my limited mobility, he offered me a pain-relieving treatment, which I gladly accepted and that finally allowed me to start moving again without feeling constant pain. Before that treatment, he explained to me what he would be doing and how it would work. After the treatment, he requested that I receive physical therapy to help improve my mobility. I will be seeing him again for a follow-up visit next month, and I look forward to it. Thanks to Dr. Conwisar, the pain relief set in within a day or two and the previously ongoing inflammation seems to have finally been eliminated. As a result, it is making my physical therapy sessions with the awesome PT team at TLC Rehabilitation so much more effective. A sincere THANK YOU to Dr. Conwisar and his caring staff for helping me heal - I am grateful beyond words.

Not the best experience, I was targeted by certain staff members and treated poorly at times. while…read moresome staff members were exceptionally helpful and supportive(Danielle, nick, Laura, Johanna, and Chantelle as well as the chef). The overall company was trying to get the most money out of my insurance as possible. I started off in the sober living facility and during Christmas time, I had covid over winter and had to take NyQuil and that was the first excuse for forcing me back into a rehab program that was not needed. My reason for being in the program in the first place was that I had 18 back to back surgeries over the past 4 years and was on opioids for a long period of time so this was a way to detox in a safe environment. There was no psychological addiction, just physical dependence to opioids. They lied about multiple addictions to medication(amphetamine addiction) that I was prescribed since childhood and used it to get more money through insurance. They also lied about an alcohol addiction, when I am medically intolerant to alcohol. When I got back to the sober living after this time I was talked about poorly among staff members and called "attention seeking" for asking for a few days off in order to visit 2 dying family members. Eventually someone in the group had consumed alcohol and told the staff which upset another client due to the unfairness and favoritism. This upset client gave me alcohol without my knowledge or consent and afterwards told the staff that I was drunk. This other client had been upset and doing things like this for 2 weeks prior to this incident. I believe he did this in order to prove a point that they will send people they dislike or with good insurance back to rehab in order to get more money. This client later confessed to me he had put alcohol in my drink without my consent and I had a reaction to the alcohol and was placed back into the rehab facility. I was put on addictive barbiturates and unnecessary medications for 2 days before my insurance denied coverage due to fraudulent services. The alcohol level was so low that there was no logical reason I needed to be there. I was then abandoned as a patient had had to find a new place to live in 2 hours or I was out on the street. Remember it's just a business. They don't actually care about you. They left another 2 of my friends on their own where one eventually fell into a coma following her abandonment. Something else they did was contact my pharmacy and told them never to fill any of my prescriptions ever from any doctor. I was no longer under their care at all. I'm a disabled person and this made it very difficult to obtain medication that I needed. This is a HIPPA violation for sure.
