To the Administration and Staff of Sherman Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center,…read more I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at Sherman Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center for the care and compassion you showed my sister during her time at your facility. My sister, Sofia Vinokur, was under your care for two and a half years. During that time, the staff treated her with dignity, patience, and kindness. Even in the most difficult moments, I could see that the nurses and caregivers truly cared about her comfort and well-being. Although she has sadly passed away, our family will always remember the warmth, professionalism, and dedication shown by your team. It gave us peace of mind knowing she was in caring hands. Please extend my heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff who supported her every day. Your work makes a real difference in the lives of families like ours. With sincere appreciation, Roman Baranov

My appointment took place at the Sherman Oaks office, where I received a warm welcome from Dr. Conwisar and his staff. Everyone was very supportive, and I couldn't have asked for a more positive experience. Not only did they truly listen when I answered their questions, but Dr. Conwisar went through great length to familiarize himself with my case. After examining my shoulder and testing my limited mobility, he offered me a pain-relieving treatment, which I gladly accepted and that finally allowed me to start moving again without feeling constant pain. Before that treatment, he explained to me what he would be doing and how it would work. After the treatment, he requested that I receive physical therapy to help improve my mobility. I will be seeing him again for a follow-up visit next month, and I look forward to it. Thanks to Dr. Conwisar, the pain relief set in within a day or two and the previously ongoing inflammation seems to have finally been eliminated. As a result, it is making my physical therapy sessions with the awesome PT team at TLC Rehabilitation so much more effective. A sincere THANK YOU to Dr. Conwisar and his caring staff for helping me heal - I am grateful beyond words.

The environment was clean, calm, and structured in a way that invited healing and reflection -- it didn't feel clinical or cold like other places I'd seen. The staff here are compassionate, professional, and genuinely tuned in to your individual needs. Every aspect of the program was personalized -- from group therapy and one-on-one counseling to family support sessions that helped repair relationships back home. Their dual diagnosis approach helped me address underlying mental health challenges alongside addiction, which made all the difference in my lasting progress. The luxury amenities (private suites, great food, fitness areas) were comforting, but what really stood out was the quality of care and the focus on building real life skills for sobriety. I left feeling stronger, clearer, and hopeful -- and I actually feel equipped for life beyond treatment. Highly recommend this center to anyone serious about lasting recovery.

It took a friend convincing me to get help and give Ritz a shot, and honestly, it was the best decision I ever made. The staff really knows what they're doing when it comes to this disease, and they helped me finally get off fentanyl for good. Ritz is clean, cozy, and has this chill vibe that makes it easy to settle in and focus on getting better. What I loved most was how the team treated me , they actually listened, kept it real, and showed real compassion because many of them had been through the same struggles. They didn't just throw a one size fits all plan at me, they made a plan that fit meIt felt like a safe space where I could be open and vulnerable without any judgment. I met people there I never thought I'd even hang out with, but some of them turned out to be the best folks I've met. We even went on weekend outings that showed me how to have fun without drugs. Oh, and huge shoutout to Steve, the chef, seriously, the best food I've ever had.

Not the best experience, I was targeted by certain staff members and treated poorly at times. while…read moresome staff members were exceptionally helpful and supportive(Danielle, nick, Laura, Johanna, and Chantelle as well as the chef). The overall company was trying to get the most money out of my insurance as possible. I started off in the sober living facility and during Christmas time, I had covid over winter and had to take NyQuil and that was the first excuse for forcing me back into a rehab program that was not needed. My reason for being in the program in the first place was that I had 18 back to back surgeries over the past 4 years and was on opioids for a long period of time so this was a way to detox in a safe environment. There was no psychological addiction, just physical dependence to opioids. They lied about multiple addictions to medication(amphetamine addiction) that I was prescribed since childhood and used it to get more money through insurance. They also lied about an alcohol addiction, when I am medically intolerant to alcohol. When I got back to the sober living after this time I was talked about poorly among staff members and called "attention seeking" for asking for a few days off in order to visit 2 dying family members. Eventually someone in the group had consumed alcohol and told the staff which upset another client due to the unfairness and favoritism. This upset client gave me alcohol without my knowledge or consent and afterwards told the staff that I was drunk. This other client had been upset and doing things like this for 2 weeks prior to this incident. I believe he did this in order to prove a point that they will send people they dislike or with good insurance back to rehab in order to get more money. This client later confessed to me he had put alcohol in my drink without my consent and I had a reaction to the alcohol and was placed back into the rehab facility. I was put on addictive barbiturates and unnecessary medications for 2 days before my insurance denied coverage due to fraudulent services. The alcohol level was so low that there was no logical reason I needed to be there. I was then abandoned as a patient had had to find a new place to live in 2 hours or I was out on the street. Remember it's just a business. They don't actually care about you. They left another 2 of my friends on their own where one eventually fell into a coma following her abandonment. Something else they did was contact my pharmacy and told them never to fill any of my prescriptions ever from any doctor. I was no longer under their care at all. I'm a disabled person and this made it very difficult to obtain medication that I needed. This is a HIPPA violation for sure.

After carrying out a lifestyle in addiction for years surrounding by fake friends & nights with nowhere to sleep, these clients want to wince at the tiniest uncomfort all of a sudden while detoxing?! The Giving Tree provided everything that was on the website and was promised, theres no reason to give a 1 star because some didnt get meds for 24 hours, because they always provided something immediate to help sleep and anxiety, but if one is referring to waiting 24hours to take Subutex or Suboxone, YES, that is true! & That is so you don't go into immediate withdrawal & possibly DIE, if you take before 24 hours!? I was never comforted better than when I was at the Giving Tree. Paulina and Daisy were both SO inspiring, and helped give me strength when I was feeling down!! I will forever be grateful to them for my sobriety!! Addiction is difficult, and no matter how amazing a program is, you need to dig down deep and be willing to change. So the next client who's upset they cant fulfill their Family's wishes of a life in sobriety, please don't use this awesome program as a scapegoat ! The time will happen that you are ready, & the Giving Tree will be there to help you detox & grow :)!

I am extremely disappointed with the care my 3-year-old daughter received at Sherman Oaks Hospital…read more I brought her in because she was clearly not feeling well, and at her age she cannot fully explain what hurts, which makes proper evaluation even more important. During our visit, no doctor ever came in to speak with me--only a nurse. No testing was done at all. They simply checked her blood pressure and heart rate, assumed it was constipation based on my concern, and sent us home with a laxative. Two days later, I took her to her pediatrician, where they immediately did a simple throat swab and diagnosed her with Strep throat. This is something that could have and should have been caught during our hospital visit. It is incredibly frustrating and upsetting to feel like my child's symptoms were dismissed and not properly evaluated. When it comes to young children--especially those who cannot clearly communicate their symptoms--more thorough care and attention is critical. I would not recommend this hospital based on our experience.
