Once Dad moved in we had peace of mind that there was help available if he needed it, whether he was sick, or any need he had. It was a good move because we knew Dad didn't have to live alone and he could be around others. It took a while for him to get adjusted to the change in his life after leaving the family home of 55 years. Dad came to appreciate that he could get cooked meals served to him in the dining room. He likes the food and loves all the wait staff and enjoys chatting with them. My father is very friendly with anyone that works at Ashland even though he's not one to engage in the activities. He has made friends in the dining room and in the hallways. Monica, the current executive director, as well as Heather, the current sales director, have been very helpful in trying to help Dad size down as his money is being spent down. They have been very gracious and have not complained about all my father's questions, research, and the many apartment tours Heather has given him. My dad feels confident talking to the staff or the nursing team if he feels he has a need. The community is clean and well kept. They do offer rides and trips out of the building. Ashland has been very conscientious during the past 2 years with Covid-19, keeping our seniors safe. They are starting to renovate the rooms, so that's a plus. Ashland is conveniently located to 495 and 114, so it makes it easy to visit from CT, PA, and the North Shore. All in all we are happy that my father is living at Ashland Farm.

They bring in musicians which is really fun. I love Yoga with Nancy - she is fantastic and the ice cream socials are great for meeting people and hearing their stories. The food is really good and Chef Darrell encourages all of us to tell him how he can make our dining experience even better. I love the scenic rides on Fridays and the trips to North Andover mall for groceries. I love going out to lunch and being taken to my Dr. appointments.

So giving and a love of what they do and for the people they care for is unparalleled. The gatherings and events that are held for the residents at Atria make it a Home. They strive to bring together the residents and see that no one is left out. The first time I walked through the door, I was met by welcoming staff and given full access to tour the facility. The management staff went above and beyond to see that all of my questions were answered and any concerns were discussed and alleviated. I discovered that they care for their residents as they would a member of their own family. There are too many names to mention, and if I had them all I would write every one of them down. I don't know that I can say enough about the staff at Atria Marland Place. And especially now. The caretakers, nurses, kitchen staff, housekeepers, maintenance workers, and managers are keeping your loved ones safe, working many hours to keep everyone healthy and safe. Just know this, these people aren't working your average 40 hour a week job, this isn't just a job for them, it's their life, and after a very long day keeping your loved ones safe they have their own families to go home to. I've read the reviews that people have put here, I don't know about their personal situation, but I've come to know several people on that staff very well, and they deserve the utmost respect. They are professional, trained, and dedicated people. And in just a few years I might be a resident at Atria Marland Place, and I can't wait!

Not only did they hold her to a 60day notice they increased her rent $1200.00 for the 2nd month. I was supposed to get refunded for 2 day and they would not give me back what I paid for the 2 days. I would have given zero stars if it let me. Stay clear

This review is for the dementia ward in the nursing home only. If I could give zero stars I would…read more We put my relative in here from the hospital because it wasn't safe for him to go home. He has now been at Blaire House for months and the situation just keeps getting worse. First off, the unit is very rundown and outdated. The color on the walls is vomit green. The unit smells like pee and poo more times then not. The furniture looks very worn. The walls are nasty. No new paint or repairs. Second, the staff are very inattentive and barely like to leave the nurses station. They don't like to be questioned on anything. They don't response to voice mails or emails. They only want to sedate all the patients so they are not bothered to do their jobs. They don't pay attention to patients who need special diets. They leave the snack cart unattended (huge issue for patients who are diabetic). Third, we've had meeting after meeting after meeting with the social worker, dietitians, activities person, head nurse. It doesn't do any good. Our offsite doctor specialist had requested numerous times for staff to be documenting certain things and they never do. The doctor wanted blood work done but Blaire House refuses. We can't even do follow up appointments because Blaire House refuses to give us paperwork to take to the doctor. The doctor can't manage his patient without these simple things. Fourth, the Dir of Nursing is now refusing to speak to any family members regarding our loved one, which includes the Health Care Proxy. That seems illegal. We tried to get the Ombudsman involved but she was of no use only saying that what the facility is doing is wrong. Fifth, our loved one fell and no one in our family was notified. Sixth, we've personally witnessed patients who are yelling for help to be told to shut up. Seventh, the facilities Dec 2024 audit was 61 pages of write-ups of abuse and neglect, half of which was still going on and never corrected. Many instances the Dir of Nursings response is "that should never happen"... yet it does! Blaire House has NO desire to do better. They just take your money and run. ($555/day or $16k/mo). There is a reason Blaire House pays out half a million dollars in fines every year. And they know full well there are no other beds anywhere so you can't move your loved one.

They were more concerned with protecting their "business" finances than the rehabilitation of my father. The only means that I had to save my Dad was to call 911 and get him to a hospital.
