Such a surreal experience. Climbing all the way to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and back down was something I will never forget. The climb was tough and a bit of a struggle for me, but I think that's just because I'm not very active. Even though it was hard at times, it was so worth it. The views from the top were beautiful. You can see the whole city and the water, and it just feels so peaceful up there. You can't take your phone with you, but I definitely recommend getting the photo package after. The pictures turned out great and it's such a nice memory to have. The whole experience felt super safe. You are harnessed to the bridge the entire time, and everything is really well organised. We had the most amazing tour guide who made sure everyone was going at a good pace and having fun. They really made the experience even better. If you are visiting Sydney, this is something you have to do. It's challenging but so rewarding.

Duplicate review, also see Sydney Harbor Bridge 5 star review, if it was not for the price... Yelp check-in, see picture; but it was not for the Harbor Bridge... Quality/Quantity - Very organized. It is the same price if you paid in person versus online. Since we have been hanging out in this area almost daily, we decided to go with the online registration. Smooth and easy. Plenty of time slots. Prepay for your pictures, it saves you $5AUD; not that it makes much of a difference out of the $750AUD we spent. The climb itself is NOT scary, even if you are afraid of heights; I am not. Really safe. If you have done the treetop obstacle courses, the safety systems are similar. Super windy today - 40km, but still no problem with the climb. Several options (5), we choose the one that spent the most time on TOP of the bridge. Lots of phone moments, YES they are super strict and will double check that you are NOT bringing anything against their policies. We even took breathalyzer tests, walked through metal detectors, etc. They have free secure lockers for all your belongings and clothes. Atmosphere - Free wifi. As you enter, they have a monitor running all the famous people that have done the climb, what a GREAT sales tool! Upstair waiting area, arrive 5 minutes before your time slot. Small museum/visitor center, history of the bridge. Very small cafe & gift shop. Street parking, we have been using public transportation and Uber. Open 7 days a week, rain or shine from 9am to 8pm. We also chose the day's climb because we felt that although the city lights would have been beautiful, we did not need to see it from a bridge. Service - 5 stars, from the people that checked us in to our wonderfully funny tour guide. Many different promotions & packages, see website. Too bad none of them applied to us. Obviously no bathrooms once the climb starts. There were one or two water breaks during the climb. At the end of the tour, you get an opportunity to buy your pictures. Our tour guide did a better job with our pictures than expected. Approximately 35 pictures for the both of us! Minimum health and safety requirements, see website. Price - $750AU, $502US. Expensive, but just like the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, you just need to DO it. :) LOL. Photo packages from $54.95 to $69.95. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1998. Thank you, glad we did it, even at your prices. Actually, I think it is a genius business idea to generate $$ towards the bridge.

Truly a once in a lifetime type of experience. How often can you say that you climbed on top of a bridge? If you're ever visiting Sydney Australia I would definitely consider allocating some time for this. My fiance and I decided to do the Summit climb which was roughly 3 hours long and varied in price depending on the time you choose. We opted for 11am which was cheaper than the 5-7pm time slot, but not as cold as the 6-8pm time slot. After checking in, the tour guide goes through introductions and breathalyzes everyone to make sure they are sober enough for the physical activity. So don't even think about drinking beforehand haha! During the next hour, you are changing into all of the safety gear and going through all of the safety trainings which include climbing up a set of practice ladders to give you a hand-on feel for what to expect which is really cool. Once all of the training is done, the 1.5 hour climb begins by hooking your safety suit into a guided rail that runs along the entire length of the Sydney Harbour Bridge ensuring your safety. I appreciate how the tour guide explains the history of the bridge as you walk underneath it and climb your way to the top. The Summit package included 2 photo ops with multiple pictures taken at each; one near the top overlooking the Sydney Opera House which was absolutely stunning and another at the very top of the bridge. When you get back and remove your safety gear, you can purchase the pics which is awesome! I totally understand that $344/person is not cheap, but if you have the opportunity, the experience is priceless. I had so much fun and the memories I now have will last a lifetime.

Sydney Bridge Climb The iconic Sydney Bridge is world renowned with each year one of first and memorable places that celebrate New Years with a bang and fireworks coming from a top the bridge. Prior to the BridgeClimb, you will need about 45 minutes to an hour prep time before you actually start the climb. First you will see a short video instruction, then you disrobe to your underwear, put on a cover all jumpsuit, place everything else in a locker. No wallet, phone, keys, watch is allowed, glasses are permitted as long g as they are on a on a strap. From there you get strapped into a harness, then you do a practice climb on very steep ladders similar to what you will face. Once that is done, you walk out hook in and walk on the lower portion of the Sydney Bridge. You start the climb, scale the top of the bridge, go to the center where the flags are, cross over and scale down. Just an unbelievable view and experience, nothing like you will ever experience in your life. For the rest of my life, when I see the Sydney Bridge, New Years or not, I can say I have scaled the top of the Sydney Bridge!!

Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of those bucket list items that you just have to do when you're in the city. You are in for an unforgettable experience if you don't mind splurging (came out to about $200 USD after using a promo code, but expect it to be about $250 USD full price, and we spent an additional $32 USD for the digital photo package). My fiancé and I did the Summit climb during winter (August) which was also on the same day as the Fifa Women's World Cup finals, so they were booked up. Definitely reserve in advance! Make sure to arrive 15-30 min before your time. I'm glad that they enforced starting right at our assigned time because three people from our climb were going to be late, and we did not wait for them. We had 11 people in our group. The first 45 min is for safety briefing, changing into the suit, securing your locker items, getting your equipment set up, and also practicing the ladder segment of the climb. If you're concerned that it will be physically challenging, don't worry. There were people of all ages, sizes, and levels of physical fitness on our climb; nobody had any issues. They have a system of multiple breaks while waiting for groups ahead of you and for photos, and there are water stations on the bridge. The stairs are very short in height and wide apart, so it is not anything like climbing a stair master, but more like a 2% incline on a treadmill. Don't fret if you're afraid of heights. As someone with a mild fear, I felt very secure and didn't feel uneasy at all. The weather during our 2:25 pm climb was perfect; the sun was up, and there was a light breeze. The view from the top was unbeatable. Our guide, Intan, was fantastic. She remembered every climber's names, cracked plenty of fun jokes, and just made sure we were all having a great time. We really enjoyed listening to the history of the bridge and the city as we climbed. The whole experience from beginning to end was 3 hrs. Cross this off your bucket list!

Me and my friend completed the bridge walk and it was scary, fun and exciting. I was shocked my friend who is scared of heights did the climb. This a popular and expensive touristy attraction in Sydney. The tour lasts about three hours but I definitely felt like it could've been shorter. The staff are amazing and are very detailed with what to expect and offer pre- training before your climb. Thankfully we went on a day where the weather was good because our instructor stated they still do climbs in most weather conditions except thunder and lightening. The scariest parts of the climb are the steep steps that only one person can use at a time. I loved that they do have staff at some of those stairs areas for support and/ or security. The views are beautiful and worth the mini cardi workout lol. Our instructor was entertaining and talked about the ongoing renovations occurring on the bridge. I love that they have a variety of options to choose which type of climb you're interested in with different prices. We did the full climb and our instructor took several pictures of us and a small video. You're not allowed to take your own cameras on the walk. At the end they offer you a picture package which wasn't too expensive and you get to pick from a selection of pictures you might be interested in purchasing. Definitely an attraction to check out.

It was an amazing experience. For someone like me who does not like heights, It was equally terrifying and exhilarating. I did it for my 50th birthday and a bucket list item. Our guide , Pete, was informative and entertaining and really made the excursion pleasurable. He even had our little group sing me happy birthday once we made it to the summit. I would definitely recommend it to my friends. read more
This is a must do. It is very pricey but it's worth it because there is a huge chance that you'll only come to Sydney once if you're visiting from far away right? My two friends and I did the Express Climb. I have never seen a more organized establishment. Our tour time was for 5:10PM and they called us in at exactly 5:10PM. The process to get into our suits and onto the bridge was like a military operation. I was incredibly impressed by how efficient the entire process was. The views on top of the bridge are probably the best I've seen in my entire life. It was breathtaking. I would recommend this climb to anyone who is in Sydney and physically able. read more
Awesome attraction. Very expensive, but worth it. If everyone complains maybe there will drop the cost down. Do not stop at the pub on the way, they will breath test you to ensure you're not drunk or have not been drinking, you can't take your own camera up, its a fairly easy climb, make sure you book ahead and pick a day, sunset or night when the weather is clear. read more

The guide that took us up made the climb enjoyable. It doesn't seem that high up there. I wish they had a glass bottom up there so you could feel the sense of how high up you were. that would make it a better experience for me and make it a 5 star. It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. It was a really neat experience. It is CRAZY expensive AND they charge you after the fact for pictures. they "free" picture is the group picture... so because you don't get the sense of how high up you are when you are on top, the extreme high cost and the fact pictures are an extra fee is why it is 3 stars. it is a neat experience though read more

It's nicknamed The Coathanger by locals, owing of course to its distinctive design shape. The locasl, of course, tend to be a bit hard on us Poms, but you can always get your own back by telling them that the iconic Coathanger was designed and built by a Pom Company (Dorman Long). The total cost of the bridge was $10 million (back in the 1920's), which was not paid off in full until 1988. You can cross it by foot, road or rail, and you can climb it if you've got a head for heights. Once you're up at the top, it is about 140 metres to sea level. The sheer 'rush' you get at the top is breathtaking, as are the views across all of Sydney. Allow 4 hours to do the climb! I don't recommend it for anyone who is unfit, afraid of heights, or elderly. Beneath the Bridge on either side of the harbour you will find any amount of diversions. See Luna Park, The Rocks, The Opera House and The Royal Botanic Gardens. If you're lucky enough to visit Sydney on New Year's Eve, then don't miss the Fireworks Display and general knees-up that takes place evrywhere within sight of the Bridge. read more

This was a very fun experience! We did the sunset climb which was wonderful because we got to see everything in daylight then see it all switch to night. It is not an actual "climb" but more of a walk up shallow stairs with breaks every 5 minutes to take pictures and chat. It takes a VERY long time to go through the entire thing, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. It could easily be shortened down just a bit. But if you're traveling to the area or just have never been- it's worth the money to do it once. Pictures are absolutely stunning- recommend getting one to put in your memory book! read more

Sydney Harbour Bridge is an impressive sight, and one of the iconic images of the city itself. Seeing it from a distance doesn't really give you a true feel for the scale of the structure. Driving across it gets you a little bit closer. But, if you're adventurous enough, the best way to appreciate the bridge - and profit from the amazing views it offers of the city, is to do the bridge climb My cousins and I did just that a few years ago. The idea might seem slightly daunting - and it's a fair climb to a decent height, so not for the faint-hearted. But once you got underway it was just thrilling. The team who went up with us were great, reassuring, supportive and patient, as well as friendly. And the views were incredible, even on the grey day that we went. If you fancy an adventure, it's definitely a good place to start! read more

I did my best to try and plan this for a sunny day but Im kind of glad it was cool in the end as you get quite hot from the climb. You have about 1hour of getting dressed in the 'boiler suit' you can't take anything up with you except medicine e.g. inhalers which the guide takes up. You have a headset which the guide talks to you over on the climb. It really is a gentle, slow climb and anyone could do it unless they were severely suffering with their legs. It takes 3.5 hrs in total, 2 of which is spent on the bridge. Next time I do it if I ever get back to Oz I'm going to do the twilight/night climb WIKID!!! read more

BridgeClimb refuses to refund our money for a climb which we cannot do due to the virus. The global pandemic stopped us from being able to enter the country - BridgeClimb cannot deliver the product they sold us, but they feel it is perfectly acceptable of them to keep our money. We live literally on the other side of the world. We had planned the trip of a lifetime to Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, Hawaii, scheduled to kickoff exactly at the time that national borders were closed. We are an older couple, we were coming to the Land Down Under as a part of multiple cruises, the entire trip was to have been three months long. Due to health and family circumstances, this time frame is it for us - we will never be able to plan a trip like this again. We contacted BridgeClimb immediately and they have refused to refund our money - even though WE CANNOT ENTER THE COUNTRY. They said hey, no problem, you can come any time in the next 3 years and do the climb. But, no, that won't work - we were coming when we were coming, that was our chance, and the pandemic cancelled all of our plans. We contracted for an experience on a particular day. It is not our fault that we had to cancel - the virus closed all borders. BridgeClimb could not provide the service, and yet, they are keeping our cash. Despicable business practice. Beware. read more

Fantastic bridge that looks great from all around the city plus when on the water, especially at night when it's all lit up. Offers fantastic views when on the bridge itself, & specifically has a lookout (with LOTS of stairs!) & a few different levels with info of the history of it. You need to buy a ticket to access this. And if you're feeling VERY adventurous, there's always the bridge climb to complete - although this in particulare doesn't appeal to myself - I like to just admire the bridge for what it is! read more

I climbed the bridge and found it an excellent experience in Sydney! Yes, it is a touristy thing to do and yes, it costs money, but darn it how many times will you be in Australia? The view is amazing and you are strapped in safely the whole time. I took a sunset tour on my last night in Sydney and treasure my photos from that experience. If I ever go to Sydney again with a friend I would gladly go again so they could experience this fun excursion too. read more
An absolute must for anyone visiting Sydney - the bridge climb can be a little pricey but definitely worth it. The guide was super knowledgeable on the history of the bridge and the area. The climb itself is not that difficult - there are a couple of exposed stair climbs which will make your heart pound, otherwise it is fairly benign. The views from the bridge are spectacular - consider booking in advance at the twilight hours for best experience. It can at times get windy - but the tour guides will provide a fleece to carry. read more

Remarkable experience!!!! It's a must when in Sydney... gives you a whole new perspective of this vibrant lovely city
This was not exciting. I went at night, which is actually cheaper than during the day even though to me, seeing the buildings lit up against a dark sky and reflections in the water is much more scenic. You wouldn't think it, but it's still rather humid at night, so I could only imagine what it'd be like during the day with the sun beating down on me. As others have mentioned, as long as you can climb ladders, you'll be fine. The climb is not physically demanding and it goes at a very slow pace. You're on the bridge for three hours, but the amount of time spent walking is probably around 30 minutes. The rest of the time, you're standing, but you have plenty of railings to lean against if you're concerned about getting tired. My biggest issue with the climb is that you see pretty much everything you're going to see at the very beginning of the climb. You start underneath the bridge through paths to get to ladders that bring you to the actual bridge climb. Once you start climbing the arch, you can see everything and the short half-bridge distance you travel does little to vary your view. The constant start/stop pace bored me. You spend most of the three hours waiting, under the guise of a "tour", for the group before you to finish taking pictures. We were lucky to have a clear day, but the resulting pictures were rather underwhelming. Any of the pictures you see online where the Sydney Opera House is really large and clear are not the reality. It's small and far in the background; you, a giant obtrusive figure in the foreground. Much like many other tourist attractions in any country you visit, this is one of those things you do to say you did it. For me, it falls into that category with the addendum, "glad I didn't have to pay because $200+ is ridiculous and probably wouldn't do it or recommend it to anyone looking for a thrilling activity". read more

Amazing! Incredible views! Definitely #1 activity on our list while in Sydney. Highly recommend. The staff was professional and safety is a priority. You are harnessed to the bridge at all times. You watch a safety video as well as practice on the training course before your actual climb. You can't take anything with you on the climb except what is provided. The guide takes pictures at the top. You get a complimentary picture and certificate at the end. You can also buy additional photos read more
Had an amazing time with my family. We did the express climb and the experience was great. Wish we could of done one of the other climbs but they were all so expensive! I've been wanting to do the bridge climb for a long time. I was lucky enough to travel to Australia for the first time in Nov 2012 and this was number one priority on my list of things to do. I wasn't dissapointed. My daughter and I did the basic bridge climb and enjoyed every minute! Our guide was Eliza and she is terrific -- knowledgable, experienced, talented and sweet. Our climb began at 4:45 and about 3 hours later at the end of the climb, the sun was setting . . . beautiful! The climb was not scary, but breathtaking and awesome. The ladders were the toughest part for me, not scary, just concentrating to be certain I didn't slip or miss a rung. Near the beginning of the tour, we crossed an area that allowed us to see through the footing to the ground and water below . . . exhilarating! There is a portion walking on wooden planks to cross to/from the main bridge, my daughter and I agreed, this is the scariest as we figured wood was more likely to give way. This point of the climb is close to the beginning/end so it isn't as high as when climbing up the stairway on the arch of the bridge. When we reached the top and walked across to come down the other side, Eliza took our photo. At the top I raised my hands and yelled, totally intoxicated by the experience. The entire climb is not hard. There are many stops along the way. It was easier climbing the bridge than climbing the stairs up the Pylon a few days later!!! read more

Just FYI-- the photos have a large logo added to them, which they will not remove due to the photos being "theirs" and "copyrighted" ... Unnecessary. $50 for a logo and an attitude. stupid. Also most of the tour consists of waiting around on the bridge for other groups, but the view is spectacular. It shouldn't take as long, though, considering that you cannot bring cameras. read more

Hmm, I don't know. My wife and I just climbed the bridge and yes it's nice up there and everything is done really well and it's all very professional. But I just can't see the reason to pay so much money for something like this. I do not like heights so it was definitely nerve wracking at times but I got a bigger adrenaline rush from zip lining in Costa Rica, which was $60 per person. At $235 per person, I find it really hard to recommend that tourists go climb the bridge. The Pylon Lookout is $11 bucks. But whatever floats your boat I guess. What a racket! read more

A MUST while you're in Sydney!! If you're considering doing this, stop considering it and just book it! Seriously, even if you think/know you're scared of heights or think the steps will be too much because you're not a marathon runner (it's an easy climb, I promise!). That being said, before I continue the review, I will mention that I was traveling with my mother who cannot walk fast (normal pace) and cannot climb steps without needing to stop after only a few and she was not able to climb, so if you are concerned for a valid reason, definitely talk to a doctor or I would even recommend reaching out to the people of Sydney BridgeClimb directly. They are really nice and helpful and are the best ones to tell you if you can physically climb. I climbed with my 8-year-old son and we both absolutely loved it. We did the night climb and started the climb at 4PM. Thank you so much to our guide who was extremely knowledgeable and nice, and helped make sure my little man was safe the whole time (she put him between us so that one of us was always behind/in front of him should he need help). The views from the bridge are absolutely gorgeous! We got lucky weather-wise as it was a gorgeous day. The climb itself is easy with frequent stops - at no point did I feel like I was working out if that makes sense. If anything, at each stop, my son was dying to just go haha! And at one stop, some of us at the front (can't speak for the back) even sat down and just looked at the view in front of us. It felt like a leisurely stroll looking at the gorgeous views surrounding us. That being said neither of us are scared of heights and there are definitely some parts that can take your breath away if you are, but don't let that scare you out of this experience. The staff are great and they warn you when things might get a little bit "thrilling" so you can focus and not look down (like when you're walking across the highway at the top of the bridge). Great experience! Highly recommended! Must do for everyone who goes to Sydney! It's worth the money + some. Also, just an FYI because I did wonder this myself before going. I'm sure you already know that you cannot take anything up with you, including a camera, so you will most likely be purchasing the photos they take of you. It's 60$ for all the photos up to 10. My son and I had 7 pictures taken, so I just paid the 60$ for all 7, but if we had 10, we'd get all 10 for the same price. They also include some extra images of the bridge with your photos, and of course you get your certificate. Don't forget to get your hat! We did and I only remembered when I was back in NY that we were supposed to get the caps, so mentioning since it's something to remember. read more

Definitely a must do when visiting Sydney. The bridge climb was so gorgeous. The leader did a wonderful job guiding and took the time to talk with each group personally and remembered everyone's name after only repeating them twice. The bridge climb was way less scary than I had expected. Only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because of having to pay an extra 35$ to get a photo of yourself. The cost of the climb is already pretty pricey so it would have been nice to have a picture included means phones aren't allowed. They do spend a decent amount of time taking photos at the top which is nice. Overall, loved this! read more

Climbing the Sydney Bridge was one of the most unforgettable moments I have ever had on vacation! We were the 6:35p trek on 27Nov15. Our guide was a wonderful lady names Jess. My travel partners made sure to let her know I was more than a little scared of heights...but determined to complete the trek. She could not have been more reassuring and supportive, and truly got me over my fears and allowed me to enjoy the sights of beautiful Sydney at dusk and dark! Sadly, because of those fears I did not appreciate the first hour or so as much as I should have. However, I am determined to return to Sydney at some point in my life (I am from Chicago) and complete a 2nd climb and completely enjoy it this time! Jess, thank you so much for helping me enjoy the amazing experience! read more

I climbed The Bridge with my 50 year lady friend, Linda Faye Hensel on our favorite date, February 16, 2016. We both hold the belief that the the number 16 is our luck number. I asked her to marry me at the top of The Bridge. She gave me a hopeful answer. You see, Linda and I first fell in love in 1965. We consented to marry upon graduating from The University of North Texas in 1968. Fate did not allow this to happen, and 50 years later, her a widow, and me divorced, we had renewed our never failing relationship, and were traveling together through Australia and New Zealand. Today is March 2016 and Linda agreed to our marriage on march 5th. I will always remember asking for her hand at the top of the Sydney Harbor Bridge. read more

I cannot recommend the bridge climb enough. It was one of the highlights of my last visit to Sydney. Yes, it is expensive, but it is a fantastic way to spend four hours. Definitely one of the places you don't wanna miss out on during your stay in Sydney. It's practically visible all across the city (maybe except for if you're in the business district) and makes a majestic impression on its viewer when standing next to it or walking over it. Now if you're more the adventure type of person you should try the bridge climb. Yup, there's actually a company that gets you all the way up there and goes on an two hour walk ON TOP of the bridge with ya (alcohol testing, adequate equipment and a run through their test track included). And it's so worth it. Did it a couple of years ago with my family and had a blast. So go 'n try it, it's totally worth it! read more

Established in 1998.
Since 1998 BridgeClimb has established itself as an integral part of the Sydney scene. We love the Bridge and have celebrated its key milestones with Bridge workers, descendants of chief engineer JJC Bradfield, and Sydneysiders alike. BridgeClimb equips you to scale to the summit of the nationally-adored Sydney Harbour Bridge and operates four different climbs; BridgeClimb, BridgeClimb Express, BridgeClimb Mandarin and the BridgeClimb Sampler. Climbs operate during dawn (limited departures), day, twilight and night. We are proud to have facilitated almost 4 million local and international visitors to climb the Bridge, and honoured to have been voted the #1 Experience in Australia (TripAdvisor: 2018 Travelers' Choice).

BEWARE. We were excited and hoped to do this activity while on vacation, however, COVID 19 had other plans. I was expecting a refund given the circumstances, but no! They offered a transferable credit for 3 years, however, given the fact we live half way around the world I'm not confident we'll ever be able to visit. In my opinion it's not right to profit off of a world crisis. We spent over $500 USD to reserve the climb we wanted. Not even a partial refund was offered given the circumstances. Not ethical. read more

I think the picture I uploaded says it all: AMAZING! I had a grin from ear to ear throughout the entire experience and would definitely do it again if given the opportunity. It is pricey but the view is priceless, I promise. Most people will be discouraged to do something like this because of the height aspect but I can tell you its not as bad as it seems. I have a huge fear of heights and was still able to complete this climb with very little anxiety. read more

The Coathanger (as it is affectionately referred to by locals, due to its resemblance and the fact that Aussies can't stick to naming things by their true name for long) is best viewed on any new years eve, from the water. Fireworks shoot from it, and rain down like falling stars nothing is quite like it. read more
