Such a surreal experience. Climbing all the way to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and back down was something I will never forget. The climb was tough and a bit of a struggle for me, but I think that's just because I'm not very active. Even though it was hard at times, it was so worth it. The views from the top were beautiful. You can see the whole city and the water, and it just feels so peaceful up there. You can't take your phone with you, but I definitely recommend getting the photo package after. The pictures turned out great and it's such a nice memory to have. The whole experience felt super safe. You are harnessed to the bridge the entire time, and everything is really well organised. We had the most amazing tour guide who made sure everyone was going at a good pace and having fun. They really made the experience even better. If you are visiting Sydney, this is something you have to do. It's challenging but so rewarding.

Duplicate review, also see Sydney Harbor Bridge 5 star review, if it was not for the price... Yelp check-in, see picture; but it was not for the Harbor Bridge... Quality/Quantity - Very organized. It is the same price if you paid in person versus online. Since we have been hanging out in this area almost daily, we decided to go with the online registration. Smooth and easy. Plenty of time slots. Prepay for your pictures, it saves you $5AUD; not that it makes much of a difference out of the $750AUD we spent. The climb itself is NOT scary, even if you are afraid of heights; I am not. Really safe. If you have done the treetop obstacle courses, the safety systems are similar. Super windy today - 40km, but still no problem with the climb. Several options (5), we choose the one that spent the most time on TOP of the bridge. Lots of phone moments, YES they are super strict and will double check that you are NOT bringing anything against their policies. We even took breathalyzer tests, walked through metal detectors, etc. They have free secure lockers for all your belongings and clothes. Atmosphere - Free wifi. As you enter, they have a monitor running all the famous people that have done the climb, what a GREAT sales tool! Upstair waiting area, arrive 5 minutes before your time slot. Small museum/visitor center, history of the bridge. Very small cafe & gift shop. Street parking, we have been using public transportation and Uber. Open 7 days a week, rain or shine from 9am to 8pm. We also chose the day's climb because we felt that although the city lights would have been beautiful, we did not need to see it from a bridge. Service - 5 stars, from the people that checked us in to our wonderfully funny tour guide. Many different promotions & packages, see website. Too bad none of them applied to us. Obviously no bathrooms once the climb starts. There were one or two water breaks during the climb. At the end of the tour, you get an opportunity to buy your pictures. Our tour guide did a better job with our pictures than expected. Approximately 35 pictures for the both of us! Minimum health and safety requirements, see website. Price - $750AU, $502US. Expensive, but just like the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, you just need to DO it. :) LOL. Photo packages from $54.95 to $69.95. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1998. Thank you, glad we did it, even at your prices. Actually, I think it is a genius business idea to generate $$ towards the bridge.

Truly a once in a lifetime type of experience. How often can you say that you climbed on top of a bridge? If you're ever visiting Sydney Australia I would definitely consider allocating some time for this. My fiance and I decided to do the Summit climb which was roughly 3 hours long and varied in price depending on the time you choose. We opted for 11am which was cheaper than the 5-7pm time slot, but not as cold as the 6-8pm time slot. After checking in, the tour guide goes through introductions and breathalyzes everyone to make sure they are sober enough for the physical activity. So don't even think about drinking beforehand haha! During the next hour, you are changing into all of the safety gear and going through all of the safety trainings which include climbing up a set of practice ladders to give you a hand-on feel for what to expect which is really cool. Once all of the training is done, the 1.5 hour climb begins by hooking your safety suit into a guided rail that runs along the entire length of the Sydney Harbour Bridge ensuring your safety. I appreciate how the tour guide explains the history of the bridge as you walk underneath it and climb your way to the top. The Summit package included 2 photo ops with multiple pictures taken at each; one near the top overlooking the Sydney Opera House which was absolutely stunning and another at the very top of the bridge. When you get back and remove your safety gear, you can purchase the pics which is awesome! I totally understand that $344/person is not cheap, but if you have the opportunity, the experience is priceless. I had so much fun and the memories I now have will last a lifetime.

Sydney Bridge Climb The iconic Sydney Bridge is world renowned with each year one of first and memorable places that celebrate New Years with a bang and fireworks coming from a top the bridge. Prior to the BridgeClimb, you will need about 45 minutes to an hour prep time before you actually start the climb. First you will see a short video instruction, then you disrobe to your underwear, put on a cover all jumpsuit, place everything else in a locker. No wallet, phone, keys, watch is allowed, glasses are permitted as long g as they are on a on a strap. From there you get strapped into a harness, then you do a practice climb on very steep ladders similar to what you will face. Once that is done, you walk out hook in and walk on the lower portion of the Sydney Bridge. You start the climb, scale the top of the bridge, go to the center where the flags are, cross over and scale down. Just an unbelievable view and experience, nothing like you will ever experience in your life. For the rest of my life, when I see the Sydney Bridge, New Years or not, I can say I have scaled the top of the Sydney Bridge!!

Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of those bucket list items that you just have to do when you're in the city. You are in for an unforgettable experience if you don't mind splurging (came out to about $200 USD after using a promo code, but expect it to be about $250 USD full price, and we spent an additional $32 USD for the digital photo package). My fiancé and I did the Summit climb during winter (August) which was also on the same day as the Fifa Women's World Cup finals, so they were booked up. Definitely reserve in advance! Make sure to arrive 15-30 min before your time. I'm glad that they enforced starting right at our assigned time because three people from our climb were going to be late, and we did not wait for them. We had 11 people in our group. The first 45 min is for safety briefing, changing into the suit, securing your locker items, getting your equipment set up, and also practicing the ladder segment of the climb. If you're concerned that it will be physically challenging, don't worry. There were people of all ages, sizes, and levels of physical fitness on our climb; nobody had any issues. They have a system of multiple breaks while waiting for groups ahead of you and for photos, and there are water stations on the bridge. The stairs are very short in height and wide apart, so it is not anything like climbing a stair master, but more like a 2% incline on a treadmill. Don't fret if you're afraid of heights. As someone with a mild fear, I felt very secure and didn't feel uneasy at all. The weather during our 2:25 pm climb was perfect; the sun was up, and there was a light breeze. The view from the top was unbeatable. Our guide, Intan, was fantastic. She remembered every climber's names, cracked plenty of fun jokes, and just made sure we were all having a great time. We really enjoyed listening to the history of the bridge and the city as we climbed. The whole experience from beginning to end was 3 hrs. Cross this off your bucket list!

Me and my friend completed the bridge walk and it was scary, fun and exciting. I was shocked my friend who is scared of heights did the climb. This a popular and expensive touristy attraction in Sydney. The tour lasts about three hours but I definitely felt like it could've been shorter. The staff are amazing and are very detailed with what to expect and offer pre- training before your climb. Thankfully we went on a day where the weather was good because our instructor stated they still do climbs in most weather conditions except thunder and lightening. The scariest parts of the climb are the steep steps that only one person can use at a time. I loved that they do have staff at some of those stairs areas for support and/ or security. The views are beautiful and worth the mini cardi workout lol. Our instructor was entertaining and talked about the ongoing renovations occurring on the bridge. I love that they have a variety of options to choose which type of climb you're interested in with different prices. We did the full climb and our instructor took several pictures of us and a small video. You're not allowed to take your own cameras on the walk. At the end they offer you a picture package which wasn't too expensive and you get to pick from a selection of pictures you might be interested in purchasing. Definitely an attraction to check out.
The Sydney BridgeClimb was our big splurge for the trip and it was absolutely worth it. I had wanted to book a twilight climb but the climb prices vary by time and twilight was by far the most expensive. We settled on an early night climb (6:35pm) and it was still quite pricey at $263 per person! We arrived about 10 minutes before our climb time and we had to go through a safety briefing, climb suit changing, and detailed instructions for the climb. All of that took about an hour before we finally made it out onto the bridge. Our tour leader was a funny older gentleman who told great stories. Although the sun had gone down, it wasn't yet completely dark when we started climbing the arch. As time went by, the lights all around us came on and we had a great nighttime view of the harbor. It felt peaceful at the top and it was a nice place to do some self reflection. Photos - One group photo is included in the price but they also sell additional photos (on a USB drive) for $20 for one photo or $60 for all of them (up to 10). It is in your best interest to ask your tour leader to take as many photos of you as possible (if you're a couple or a small group, ask for photos together and separately) so that you will have ample options to narrow down to 10. There were 3 separate photos spots. At the last one, you can make a free ~8 second video. Be ready; think in advance about what you want to say. Unfortunately, we were at the front of the group and I couldn't come up with anything in time. There are many proposals on this climb; in fact, we saw one happen right in front of us. If you're interested in proposing, let them know in advance and they have a whole system figured out to help you out (how not to drop the ring!). The whole thing took about 3 hours and it was well worth the time and money. This is an experience I will remember for years to come. read more
The Sydney Bridge Climb is really cool. It's pricey, but a one of a kind experience. Their customer service is outstanding, and I'll tell you my embarrassing experience to back it up. First off, everybody is really friendly. They go over things clearly and you do a little practice before you go out. Right while we were getting ready to go out my stomach started hurting really badly. We had eaten a large lunch before hand and perhaps nerves I didn't know I had, plus all that food just really didn't sit right. The guide was so kind and really helped me through what I think was a fear of heights I didn't know I had. He checked on me often (if you are frightened, be in the front) and was very encouraging. I made it to the top (the view is spectacular AF, by the way) but my stomach decided I needed the bathroom right that minute. He was able to call help and a guide came and helped me down quickly so I could use the bathroom. I was (and am) mortified for not being able to finish, but everybody on the way down was so helpful. They gave me some tea while I waited for the group to finish and I'm so appreciative of all of their help. It was still an outstanding experience, and if you're in Sydney, totally do it! read more
So, when one travels for work, you find yourself always looking for ways to inject some fun into the trip. A trip to Sydney offered me all sorts of opportunities to mix business with pleasure while on the company dime. In full-on tourist mode, I decided to embrace that feeling and do the Sydney Harbor Bridge Climb. The entire operation is pretty slick and very well coordinated from start to finish. I am not sure who designed the little wind breaker jumpsuits they have you wear, but I am sure you locals get a chuckle out of seeing all the tourons climbing the bridge in those god awful outfits! After a quick, but extensive safety briefing, your group is escorted to the beginning of the climb. I am not afraid of adventure and therefore was raring to go, but there were a few in the group who looked "less than enthusiastic" about what they were about to endure. I will say, the professionalism of the guides and safety precautions certainly went a long way to elude the fears of those that perhaps were "conned" into this outing. Of course, what I remember most was the wind! Wow! I mean, it makes sense; you are hundreds of feet above a body of water, so to be expected. The weather was perfect the day we climbed and the views were spectacular. I laugh every time I look at the photo of us all at the top of the bridge because those damn jumpsuits make us look like prison escapees! This is a very unique experience and well worth the few hour investment. Just, don't look down!!! read more
I was SUPER excited about this part of my trip, even though I'm a little afraid of heights. Once we arrived, they breathalyzed us, got us in our suits (Star Trek style, super hot), gave us tons of gear to attach to our suits by little clips and straps and we headed off. It was a beautiful day, clear and slightly breezy. There were two climbs we could choose from, the Original and the Discovery (Disco). We chose the latter. On the Original, you climb up the outer arch, so your ascent is mainly looking at the sky. On the Disco climb, you travel through the inner arch, so we had these beautiful panoramic views the whole time, as well as the architectural views from inside the bridge. We learned about the construction of the bridge and really interesting facts like how many people died and how the bridge was built in 2 halves and then joined together in the center. When we were first ascending, there were parts where the steel underfoot was mesh and we were over the water, so if you walked really quickly and looked down, the mesh blurred and you had a strange feeling of walking on water. The leader took pictures every so often along the way and at the top as well. We weren't allowed to bring our own cameras, so we had to buy the pictures we wanted. There were only 6 people in our group (normal is 12), so we had lots of extra time to look around and enjoy the view before we had to head back down. The other 3 people were from Perth, in Sydney for a holiday like us. I think we climbed something like 1,068 stairs in total, though half of those were downhill. One of the facts that really sticks with me is about the height of the bridge. In one of our pictures, you can see a small brick clocktower with a green copper dome in the middle of the city. Now, it's dwarfed by the buildings around it, but when the bridge was built, it was the 2nd tallest building in Sydney. When we were a third of the way up the bridge, we were already taller than that building. It really gives you an idea of how the bridge changed the city and people's perceptions of it. As you can see from the pictures, contemporary Sydney has plenty of high-rise buildings. When we got back to the office of Bridge Climb, we changed out of our suits, put on sandals and bought souvenirs, postcards and our pictures. We all received certificates of completion and group pictures. I totally recommend you try this if you're in Sydney. I would even do it again! read more

"See that huge Australian icon glistening tall and proud above that beautiful body of water? Yes, that bridge. How about we climb it!" Ahh a typical mistake bright-eyed tourists, so full of hope. Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a gimmick, a genius one at that. So far above the sea, wind blowing in your hair. You would expect a rush that, well, money could buy. Being born and raised in Sydney, I must give you one piece of advice. There are thousands of better things to climb in Australia than this heap of iron and metal. And those things would either be remarkably cheaper, or free. Circa $175, depending on time and day, to climb it. Only to be treated like a child on a school excursion. You are all tied together; no phones or cameras and a nice slow pace to the top. The no camera move is actually rather ingenious. Only the guide is allowed a camera so if you want to capture your glorious moment above the world, you can easily get it for a nominal fee. Does the monopoly ever end?! My recommendations; go climb something fun and just walk across the bridge instead. read more
If you are visiting Sydney, you really need to do the Sydney Bridge Climb. I know it may sound scary to people that are afraid of heights, but believe me, you can do it! The views are unmatched, and the experience of being on such an iconic bridge is something you will take with you forever! I took the Express Climb, which still takes about 2 hours, but doesn't skip an thing when it comes to views, history lessons, and photos opportunities. I definitely recommend doing this at least once! read more

If you can control your fear of heights and if you have good knees, you MUST do the bridge climb! Complain about the prices all you want, but if you're like me (from a place far, far away from Australia) you bite the bullet and spend that cash money here. Ask yourself if you know the next time you're going to be in Sydney. Not sure? Maybe never? THEN DO IT!!! You don't need to be in the best shape of your life to do this climb. It's fairly easy. There were older people in my group and no one had a problem. Again, as long as you have good knees and you can climb up and down ladders, all will be well. There are a few spots that are a bit tight, but if Dwayne Wade can get through them (they showed his picture in the lobby) then I'm pretty sure you can too. As many reviewers mentioned, you are chained to the bridge so you won't fall off and you can't get lost. There's a lot of prep before the climb, but everything they tell you and everything you need to do is for a good reason. People may complain about not being able to take cameras, but I totally get why. You don't want to risk dropping it on the cars below, and do you really want to wait for people who are taking a million selfies of themselves? This rule helps the group to keep moving and do the climb smoothly and safely. Not only did I get one free group photo at the end, but they also gave us baseball caps! It even includes a tiny detail that you'll only understand once you finish the climb. ;) 5 stars all the way- looking forward to doing it again!!! read more
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is the most iconic landmark of the city. Every postcard has an image of this majestic structure, but how cool is it that you can actually CLIMB the bridge? The view at the top is breathtaking, and not just because of the steps you just climbed. The twilight time slot costs a bit more, but the climb is already expensive, so why not get the full experience? You see a change in skyline from daytime to sunset to city lights. The whole process takes almost 4 hours, unless you do an express climb, which, why would you want to shorten your time up there? Use the bathroom before you go up, and make sure you like the people around you. My friend threatened to fart in my face, so I avoided standing behind him. There is no turning back once you're out there. You get suited up and go through a brief training session. You're not allowed to bring anything - no cameras, phones, or GoPros. I couldn't even wear my FitBit; I must've lost thousands of steps! It's a safety precaution. There are cars on the freeway below, and if anything were dropped from that height, it would be lethal. It didn't take long for me to determine that Aussie guys are hot. Our bridge climb instructor? HOT. And he's from Texas, which begs the question- was he always hot, or did he become hot after moving to Australia? Anyway, your instructor leads the group and recounts interesting facts or stories throughout the climb. It's really not very strenuous, as you get to take breaks. I felt totally safe because the steps are well designed, and there are hand rails. There are a few steep ladders to climb, but still pretty low on the scare factor. Since you're not allowed to bring a camera, there are designated spots where they take professional photos for you. The group photo is free, but if you don't want random strangers in your keepsake, you can purchase individual shots. Of all the adventurous things you can do down under, this one tops the list, no pun intended. read more

Five stars for the view and our tour guide Dave from Ireland. On the flip side... For the price $$$ do something else memorable in Sydney. The whole climb was very slow going and always bottlenecked because they take photos of you along the way only to offer for sale at the end for $$$. I personally felt it was extremely boring for what it was. Love Sydney though! read more

110% worth it If you're in Sydney on a weekday, do it then to save money. No idea why night is cheaper, but that's also an option. The instructors make you feel really comfortable. I'm sure everyone has said it, but I wish we could bring phones to take more pictures!! Maybe they'll get some master grip thing so you don't drop it, but I'm sure they also want to charge you for your photo. read more

Alex was our guide and he was awesome. He gave us a lot of Australian history during the tour. Very interesting. He also took time to write down some recommendations based on where we were traveling next. We took his recommendations and had a great time. Everything with the Bridge Climb was well organized and we always felt safe. I highly recommend. read more
BridgeClimb was hands-down the coolest thing I did on my trip to Australia. My climb leader was super friendly and engaging, the views and pictures at the top were amazing, and it was totally just surreal to think that I was half-way around the world doing something so cool. So, you might be asking yourself why I am giving BridgeClimb four stars instead of five stars. Well, it is because I am having a hard time deciding if the price they charge is really worth it. Yes, it was awesome. But they really gauge you for your money because they have a monopoly on climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge and because they know tourists have a higher willingness-to-pay since most tourists probably think "I already came all the way here, I might as well make the most of my time." (Yes, I am a business student, so this is how I think about things...haha.) The climb itself is really expensive and then they charge you extra for pictures. I will let you check out the website yourself for specific prices because they vary based on the time and day you go, but let me warn you, they are high. But overall, I'm glad I did BridgeClimb and I recommend it if you are in Sydney because it is a totally cool, once-in-lifetime experience. I guess I am that typical tourist that they prey on... Also, if you are wondering: BridgeClimb can be done even if you are not super fit. There was an older woman on my climb who was struggling a bit with the ladders, and the climb leader made sure she got through it. The ladders are the only somewhat tricky part of the climb. Once you climb them to actually get on the bridge, there are stairs that are really simple to climb. Also, there is a simulator of the ladder that you have to do before you actually go to climb the bridge, so you can make sure that you can do it before you actually have to commit. Additionally, the climb leader stops a lot to explain the history of the bridge, so the climb is not very difficult cardiovascular-wise. read more

I have a fear of heights so I will say the ladders are scary. But the actual climb along the arch is amazing, looking back on Sydney and the harbour, it's breathtaking. There is nothing to fear, the whole experience is brilliant! You meet people and have a great time. The climb leaders and the staff are very enthusiastic, they are professional but also make your climb a million times funner. Well done to them. You would think that it takes someone who's slightly fit to pull it off but no. You'd be wrong. I was told to arrive 15 min early and had to run 2km in 10 min with no water. I thought I would never make it, I arrived only 5min earlier and as a comparison, the climb was a piece of cake! On my climb, 2.9 million people had climbed the bridge so JOIN THE FAMILY. It isn't hard, you meet new people, it's a hell of a bragging right and you gain a sense of accomplishment that you wouldn't find anywhere else in Sydney. If you have the same fear as me, it really is ALL IN YOUR MIND, do the climb. Not many things look nearly as scary anymore. read more

I had some extra time and money on my hands so while on vacation I decided to take in this sight. There are 3 types of Bridge Climbs. The standard, the quickie and the structural tour. Note: These aren't the actual names, just the ones I remember from my trip. Before your climb you are given a small orientation on how to properly go up and down the ladders. Sure this is a bit tedious but better safe than sorry and if you don't tell people how to do some things they more often than not end up doing them wrong. You're also given a snazzy Ghostbuster like jump suit to wear during the climb. I thought the blue and grey was much more fashionable than the yellow thing they make you wear at the Skytower. For those who have fear of heights this is perfectly safe as you're tethered the entire time by a cable to the bridge. It's a bit of a hike, not because the bridge is that large or long but it takes the guide sometime talking about the history of it and getting a group of 10 or so people to the summit. If you do come looking for a bit of local flavor to savor then take the Standard. A quickie no matter the country would leave you unsatisfied and a little bit disappointed. And if you're on holiday then it's a nice touristy thing to do. read more

On my first visit to Sydney 14 years ago I decided the BridgeClimb was too expensive for my backpacker budget... and then regretted not having done it when I went home! So, when I returned to Sydney earlier this year, conquering 'The Coathanger' was one of the top things I wanted to do this time. I was not disappointed. I chose to do the full three and a half hour tour at night-time - the first night climb of the evening. The tour starts with form filling, various checks, getting suited and kitted up, and being put through your paces on the training ladders and walkways. We began our climb just as the sun had dipped over the horizon, with the city basking in the twilight. I had expected that I might feel a bit exposed to the elements once on the top arc of the bridge but the conditions were comfortable - it was still warm, just a little humid, and not too windy. The 360 degree views are amazing and extend right to the very edges of sprawling Sydney - our guide even pointed out the foothills of the Blue Mountains. The view continued to become more magical as the city and its iconic landmarks lit up and sparkled whilst darkness descended. Our guide was very friendly, easy-going, and full of knowledge and stories about the bridge and the city. The climb itself is not strenuous - it goes at a leisurely pace and there are lots of opportunities to stop and take in the magnificent views whilst listening to some history and having your photo taken. The only challenging bit was a series of ladders that leads you to the top arc of the bridge near the beginning of the climb, but the tour is relaxed and you are given plenty of time to take these at your own pace. When we arrived to check in for the tour we were given complimentary tickets for the Bridge's Pylon Lookout, which was an unexpected bonus - I'm not sure if that's a regular thing or a promotion at the time. I would absolutely recommend doing the full BridgeClimb - especially a twilight or night climb. It was a definite highlight of my trip - well worth the money! read more

We almost didn't book this for our trip to Sydney, but I'm so glad we did! From the first minute to the last everything is extremely well run. The whole operation is a well oiled machine to get as many people on the bridge each day as possible. That being said, I felt like I was given caring, personal attention each step along the way. If I had to do it again I would probably opt for a sunset climb, but the crystal clear views at noon were still stunning. The bridge is a magnificent symbol of Sydney and a feat of engineering. You really feel and understand this when you get to spend some intimate time with it! If you're wondering whether to do it or not, GO FOR IT! You absolutely won't regret it! read more

What's better than sitting on Sydney Harbor with a view of Sydney's two (and some of Australia's) most famous icons? Climbing one of them! I don't know if you are old enough to remember (or have seen re-runs of) Paul Hogan's Australian tourism ads (before the Lara Bingle "where the bloody hell are ya")? Well if you do the bridge climb you can feel like a young Paul Hogan in (ridiculously) short 'stubbies' and a singlet, on the iconic bridge with one of the most magical views (sentimental experiences not guaranteed by the operators and will require some imagination). I'm (a little) scared of heights so there were some sections (particularly near the edge of the bridge) where I felt a little uneasy but you are securely strapped on and in safe hands. The bridge climb experience is a well oiled machine and well worth a go! read more
This is an incredible, must do at least once, will never forget it type of experience. Yes it is expensive, yes you have to do some boring safety training, yes you have to wear an unattractive grey suit, yes they make you exit via the gift shop, yes you have to be a flat zero blood alcohol, but I promise all of those things are worth it when you reach the top. Go do it! Even if you've lived in Sydney your whole life. read more

Yeah - I climbed this thing. Pretty sick views of Sydney and beyond, and the tour guide I was hooked up to had some great commentary to keep us entertained. The suits make you feel like you're about to train for NASA, and the way they connect your group together feels like a chain gang. It's totally overpriced but you have to do it once. Great way to spend my first day in Sydney! read more

Unique experience, great views, good tour. I did this climb in October 2015 and it was a lot of fun! A friend decided she wanted this to be her birthday adventure so we went through the training, donned grey onesies, and enjoyed the views. The climb itself is rather easy with the only strenuous task being the ladder climbs. Our tour guide kept it interesting with historic and funny tales of Sydney and everybody in our (70% Aussie, 30% American) group came away saying how much fun they'd had. Notes: Consider a night climb if you want to avoid the sun baking on you. The nighttime view of the harbour is really nice! But still wear shorts because ... humidity, people, humidity! Don't stress talk yourself out of this; it sounds scarier or more daring than it really is. Just be in good health and you'll be fine. One of my friends has real issues with heights, but she was OK throughout. Included with our package was: a group photo, a BridgeClimb hat, and a certificate of completion. Fun experience! read more
Great experience and wonderful way to view Sydney Harbour. It was very expensive, but worth it for a one-time experience. The views are amazing: the only way to get better views is from the air. It's disappointing that you can't take up your camera, but the staff takes pictures from various vantage points. You get one freebie, and then have to pay for the others (of course). We prepurchased our photos online when we booked, and saved a significant amount. Not scary at all, but exhilarating! read more

A must do in Sydney. You get to see the great views of the city on top of the bridge, hear great commentary from your guide. I would not purchase the USB drive of photos. My husband made the mistake of doing that prior to us climbing the bridge. They give you a picture of the group as part of your admission and if you want to buy photos later you can...if they look good : ) Be sure to bring sunglasses. They have straps that will keep them on, so no fear, you won't lose them. I didn't bring them, but sure enough they had a hat for me to wear to keep the sun out of my eyes. read more
As a tourist, if you don't do the Bridge Climb on the Sydney Bridge, you mind as well not visit! Finding the building where it starts will be as hard as the experience will get and even that is simple enough (hint: it's at the base of the bridge). Everything from the trip up to the tour guide is worth every penny. But if there is anything beyond words to describe that makes the experience worth wild, it is the views while climbing. Truly amazing and something to never forget. Without a doubt, the Bridge Climb is a must do item when visiting Sydney! read more

When we booked this we fully expected to catch a combination of daylight and the sunset over the harbor. Maybe even catch some fireworks. Not!! It rained! And it's rain or shine for this climb so we made the best of it. So our first and foremost recommendation is to check the weather forecast before booking if at all possible. Thankfully the tour company is well prepared and we were outfitted with rain gear (except shoes....ours got soaked) to go over the jumpsuit they provide for you to wear on the climb. Just a heads up if you book through a hotel and do not get a chance to read any advance information as to what not to wear or bring along with you (although they do provide lockers, but to be prepared would be nice). Anyone with long hair might want to bring their own hair tie, although they do offer you one. Take the time to check out their website for what to expect. In short - no cameras, no jewelry as in earrings, watches, bracelets, necklaces etc. They asked that we remove our pants/jeans prior to putting on the jumpsuit. One unexpected thing was the breathalyzer test. Everyone passed, but it would have been interesting to know what would happen if you didn't. We had no idea there would be one. The gear is first class. They have gone to extreme measures to be certain everyone is safe. The climb itself is so much easier than we anticipated. We were given head lamps, so even with the rain and the ladders being a bit slipper it was fine. We moved at a fairly slow pace. As a matter of fact, I thought it could have moved along much faster, and this is probably my only complaint. Too much time is spent stopping and messing around with photos. I felt the photo ops where really a gimmick for them to make more money. The photos should have been included in the price. The only photo included in the price is the group photo, and they gave us the blue hat although we did not wear it on the climb. As you can see from the one photo I will post it's not the greatest. We chose not to purchase the photos at $25 each that were taken by our guide. They simply weren't as good as some that are posted in reviews. I did purchase a visor, as I wanted some sort of memorabilia of the climb. All in all, we can say we did it, but I'm not sure it was worth it. Keep in mind when you reserve your time slot you need to allow for at least an hour of prep time before you actually walk outside the building in your gear to start the walk and climb. read more

Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's mainly done by overseas tourists. No, you can't take your own camera and phone, and yes, you need to wear a funky grey suit. But is it worth it? Yes!! I've lived in Sydney for over 15 years, and during that time I've crossed the bridge countless times, whether in a car, bus or train, on foot walking, running (including as part of the Bridge Run and the Half Marathon down the centre of the roadway) and on a bike. But, heading up on top and walking upon the archway is an amazing experience. The views are spectacular and part of the reason to do it (especially on the clear day we completed it), but the main reason that all local Sydneysiders should one day do this, is to just get up close and personal with this grand old dame, and literally walk on top of it - it's just such a wow experience! read more
I took the plunge and signed up for the BridgeClimb Sydney on a recent trip to Australia, I figured when am I going to ever have this opportunity again. Our guide was very friendly, accommodating there were 12 people in our 10:30am climb group ranging in ages from early 20's to a man in his mid 80s! I have a fear of heights, so our guide worked with me, she wanted me to be in the front of the group (real fear there), but allowed me to be a few back. The climb is pretty standard, except for the set of stairs getting you up to the arch & then back down near the end of the climb. I hung on for dear life, yes you're in a safety suit & strapped in the entire time, but that was the most challenging part of the climb. I did enjoy the decent up the arch, continued to look up, our guide took a few photos on the climb, then you cross over the arch to the other side - wow you're at the top of the world! You only live once so why not experience the BridgeClimb Sydney - the rest of the trip when we saw the bridge I could tell everyone I climbed that bridge! read more

Surely at least once in your life, everyone must do the Bridgeclimb walk over The Sydney Harbour Bridge. Don't try it after a few drinks though as you will be breath tested and if you show any signs of alcohol you won't be permitted to do it. For me and my companion it was quite easy to find a booking although there are walks every fifteen minutes so I'm sure you'll be able to find a time that suits. After a quick lesson and in our 'Bridgeclimb' overalls we head out and commence our walk. You are latched on to the rails so it's very safe and there is only a couple of 'ladders' to climb up but once that's out of the way, up you head. And the views are obviously spectacular. Even on this perfect day thre is quite a breeze blowing up high so your hat may fall off. Luckily it's clipped on to your overalls so you wont cause an accident down below. There's plenty of photo opportunities which are all taken by the guides as you aren't allowed to take anything up with you. The pictures aren't free and it does add up by even if you only do it once, it's without doubt a must do! read more

This is a totally cool adventure! The training is short (I was expecting ton of bureaucracy) and then you just get onto the catwalk and keep going up. The staff is very helpful; I booked the tickets on their web site and they called me to confirm the next day. We stayed at the Westin on Martin's place so a short walk to Cumberland St. took about half an hour. The views are amazing; no one is rushing you. It takes as long as it takes. I felt totally safe throughout the journey. I heard that back in the day climbing the bridge was illegal but ton of people did it. I missed that time so I had to use the legit means of conquering that bridge! Definitively recommend doing this! read more

The Sydney BridgeClimb was one of my favorite things I did while in Australia! The view from the top and the whole experience was unlike any other I've seen/done (and that includes the view from the Eiffel Tower). It is super expensive, so I definitely wouldn't do it more than once, but it is worth it to experience it one time. I really enjoyed going during the day because everything was so clear to see. The guide was really great and I really enjoyed hearing the history of the area. Heads up they recommend only wearing underwear under the jumpsuit because of the heat (and you will probably sweat), so please consider this when you choose an outfit! :) read more

The pros: guide is knowledge with just the right mix of history and anecdotes , views, safety and bragging rights. The cons: value is terrible. $500 for a long walk and a group picture. It cost us the same amount to jump out of an airplane. Takes too long. This can be done in 45 min but they need to justify the price somehow. Can't take your own camera. As you can imagine the picture monopoly leads to gauging. read more

If you are going to visit Sydney, or even Australia in general, one of the most iconic landmarks that you will want to see is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There is then the temptation to climb the frickin' thing! On Australian tourist information sites, the Bridge Climb is often recommended as a 'must do', both for spectacular views over Sydney Harbour and Circular Quay, and for the experience of climbing the tallest steel arch bridge in the world . However, they often fail to mention that the climb is done in a jumpsuit with only your underwear on underneath!! REAL TALK - IS IT WORTH IT? At $363AUSD per person (varies depending on time of climb), the Bridge Climb is probably going to be the dearest activity for most traveller's visit to Sydney. $363AUSD is a big expense, and a large portion of the holiday fund, particularly if you are touring Australia on a budget. All that money... to climb a bridge?! Before I even did the climb, I was perversely hoping that at the end I would be thinking, 'WHAT A RIP OFF EH????!!!!'. I don't know why... perhaps my Scottish pessimism. Surprisingly, it transpired that the recommendations were correct, and it was a great experience! Sydney_harbour_Bridge_climb_top_opera_houseThe Bridge Climb Experience - Pro's and Con's PRO's The views are phenomenal. You don't have to be too fit to do it. It is a slick operation. They have everything down to a T. It is very well organised and laid out; from getting changed into the jumpsuit, to getting safely harnessed, and the climb itself. The guides are very knowledgeable and funny. Small groups (we had a group of ten). Great photo opportunities (within the restrictions described below). Free group photo / certificate at the end. You are provided with a jumpsuit to wear, and advised to only keep your underwear on underneath. It sounds ridiculous, but climbing the bridge, particularly in the height of Australian summer, is a sweaty task, and my clothes would have been drenched if this wasn't done!! Con's Photos You cannot take your own camera on the climb. You have to rely on the guide taking pictures at pre-determined points. The quality of the photos from the bridge climb by the guide are OK. The cost of the photo's are pricey ($50 for ten) During our climb, a gate was not closed properly on the bridge, meaning we could not go forward at a section. This led to us standing for around 15/20 minutes until this was rectified, and in my opinion, made our climb a night time climb, and not the Twilight climb that we had booked. There were things I would have expected to be included in the price that were not (e.g. cleaning our own headset, having to worry about how we gave back our jumpsuit, a 2 page survey at the end) DO IT The price is expensive, which I think is understandable, as it probably costs a fortune to insure and keep safety procedures to the high standard that they are. If you have the opportunity, and if the price is within your budget, do it. It was a memorable experience, and hopefully the photos show how much of a good time I had. read more

We did the sunset bridge climb with Phil. It's fun & easy nothing to be nervous about. The views at night are unreal. It takes awhile because of all the safety training ... which I completely understand but they could probably shave at least a half hour off the entire trek. No GoPros allowed read more

Now, there's a few stellar reviews about this one. But I ask you; are you impressed with the bridge, or the climb? If you've seen the bridge before, I'm not sure how much fun you can expect. I'm gonna put something out there. Whether or not you enjoy bridge climb is determined by one thing: Are you from Sydney, or are you not? Not from Sydney, your reaction: "WOAH! LOOK AT THIS BRIDGE! LOOK AT THIS HUGE CITY! I'm from Adelaide; we dont have bridges! Or tall buildings! Or water! (Sorry to make fun of you, Adelaidians, you're just an example of a smaller city, thats all. You're all right.) I'm just so impressed with this place! I LOVE EVERYTHING!" From Sydney: "Yeah. We're pretty high up I guess. Look, there's my house. What? You want to take more photos? Come on, we just had a session, I want to see the rest of the bridge. I've been here 2 hours already. Yeah, alright, I'm smiling. And now back to the bridge. Yeah. It's nice. I drive on this to go to work every day. $5 each way. Rip off. And I'm usually late. This place doesn't hold that many good memories for me. But yeah, I'm on top of Australia's biggest Icon. I'm glad I can say I've done it. It's all very nice." read more

Worth doing. As a Sydney local it was a very enjoyable experience. You go up in groups of about 10 people. It takes about 3 1/2 hours for the entire climb. It's very pricey. Do the climb which goes to the top of the bridge, and not the walk which takes you underneath the arch. read more
Once on the actual steps, the view was breathtaking and it was less scary than I imagined. However; nowhere is it mentioned that you have to walk long distances on wood scaffolding under the bridge, many, many stories about the busy bridge traffic and busy train. Also not mentioned is the many sets of ladders you will have to climb - over those busy train tracks and car traffic. In truth, knowing this may have scared me out of doing the bridge climb, so, in hindsight, I was glad to have gone into it blindly. read more
We greatly enjoyed the bridge climb. Our tour guide Matt was great- very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny! I would definitely recommend doing it while in Sydney. However, I think the excursion was slightly pricey for the actual time we spent on the bridge. read more

Sydney Harbour Bridge is an Australian icon, and one that is recognisable throughout the world. Having the chance to climb this is absolutely wild! Before climbing, everyone is equally suited up in very attractive grey suits and little hats - these are to ensure that people driving across the bridge aren't distracted by a vision of a woman in a bright red dress or something climbing across their line of vision. The Bridge Climb is very safety conscious - you are all strapped to one another, and everything is taken very slowly. This is a good thing, after all - you'd want to take in that incredible view. You can literally see from Milson's Point all the way out to Parramatta, and in the other direction, from Manly's North Head to Watson's Bay's South Head. Amazing. The whole roundtrip takes around three hours, and I can safely say that I was pretty exhilerated the whole time. It's expensive - oh man, is it expensive - but if you can tee it up as a gift for a loved one, it's one that they will never forget. read more

Whether you have lived in Sydney all your life or are visiting for a week or two, the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb is a must. The bridge itself has received plenty of media from protesters illegally scaling the bridge to gain media attention, to New Years Eve fireworks and other big displays. The view from the top of the bridge is simply stunning, attracting celebrities from all over the world. You have a guide with you every step of the way and with safety gear, I assure you that you are in good hands! With heights don't freak me out, I'm not the greatest fan of climbing up hundreds of feet in the air. But when you reach the top, the view is simply breathtaking. The best time to go is either early in the morning or at night, however tours are available throughout the day for your convenience. It is well worth your while (and you're money) to climb this iconic Australia structure which has ample history. read more

My boyfriend and I have both done this multiple times. Our first attempt together ended up not so good... even then we had fun. Oh look, its pouring down rain, every inch of me is soaked. Its really cold up here. Oh hey climb leader, look at your hair sticking right up. Climb leader responds: Ok, looks like we will all be going back down to wait out the lightning and we will return if and when it is safe. The majority of the group went back up to complete the climb and a few of us went back and got some vouchers for a return visit. Return visit included perfect weather, low wind, clear skies, no rain which all equaled an epic win! We even saw our original climb leader in the group ahead of us and she remembered us! This is the sort of thing that no matter what the weather or conditions, its fun. It's a cool experience. Yeah the perfect weather was a plus, but this is a one of a kind encounter. Who gets to intimately and safely climb over a giant bridge with cars, trains, and boats below and a ridiculous city skyline? Bottom line if you are in the city and the weather is less than desirable, go anyways. Im a tourist, my boyfriend is a Sydney native, and we both love the Bridge Climb! The only downside is that it is super pricey, just like everything in Sydney. Save your money up and go. Also, its a lot of stairs, so be reasonably fit. Pre pay for your photos to save some money, you will want them. They take tons, so you will have your pick, and you can't bring up any cameras. read more

BEWARE. We were excited and hoped to do this activity while on vacation, however, COVID 19 had other plans. I was expecting a refund given the circumstances, but no! They offered a transferable credit for 3 years, however, given the fact we live half way around the world I'm not confident we'll ever be able to visit. In my opinion it's not right to profit off of a world crisis. We spent over $500 USD to reserve the climb we wanted. Not even a partial refund was offered given the circumstances. Not ethical. read more

I think the picture I uploaded says it all: AMAZING! I had a grin from ear to ear throughout the entire experience and would definitely do it again if given the opportunity. It is pricey but the view is priceless, I promise. Most people will be discouraged to do something like this because of the height aspect but I can tell you its not as bad as it seems. I have a huge fear of heights and was still able to complete this climb with very little anxiety. read more

The Coathanger (as it is affectionately referred to by locals, due to its resemblance and the fact that Aussies can't stick to naming things by their true name for long) is best viewed on any new years eve, from the water.
