I used to go to this pub before it was bought out by greenking. It's the same old storey as with all chain pubs like this. Understaffed and badly managed. It took us 25 minutes to get served. Yes it was busy but their methods for serving people leave a lot to be desired. Queuing at a bar never works, we queued for 10 minutes and then got asked to move to another que, they didn't have any bitter on tap. When we eventually got served the bar girl wandered of down the bar to poor our drinks and after successfully pouring she stopped to have a chat with someone she new, I got pretty angry at this point. When the shift manager asked if everything was alright I'm pretty sure the manager mutter that the customers could f-off.... Not what you expect someone to say at the bar About your punters. For me these chains should make pubs.. Or restaurants, it's rediculous that they attempt to both, because they clearly lack experience to train their staff and just want to process customers rather than serve them, that's not what a pub is about.... The food itself was good, although my father had a mixed grill and you could have stoned someone with the steak I.e it was rock solid... Other than that it was all good! read more
