UPDATE 18-08-12 *
( OK, they're better but still not good enough) .. What can I tell you ? Do you fancy a bag of chips ? Well, if you're thinking of visiting the ' Bridge Fish Bar ' in Norton Canes I hope you're that hungry you could chew the hind leg off a dead donkey, that way you're probably not gonna be too fussed about the taste of the chips, anything else from hungry to peckish you'll be disappointed, I made my third and last visit 2 months ago and in my book that's a fair crack of the whip, what's wrong with the chips you ask ?
Limp ,pale, dreadful, funny tasting albino chips made with what tastes like cheap potatoes and cheap oil, pity the chips weren't cheap ! At £1.40 for a average sized portion they don't come top of my list as ' value for money' I'm glad I said yes to the salt and vinegar, at least the 6 chips I ate tasted of something, you'd think the owner might sample his offerings occasionally and say to himself " Hmm, these could be better " but no, three visits in 8 months and every time they've been ' unpalatable' what the rest of the food tastes like I don't know, it might be good, but I'll never know. I have been in communication with Trevor the owner (well I
think that;s his name) who offered me a free portion, I had to refuse his offer, he said his chips were quality chips and he stood by them, well if you've got £1.40 jangling in your pocket that you don't mind throwing away pop in and try them for yourself, but please, try to keep Norton Canes free from litter and take your rubbish home with you !
Take my advice and go elsewhere, anywhere, because when you've tasted fluffy golden chips with that delicious coating on you'll never be satisfied at the ' Bridge ' save your pound wait till you get home and have a bowl of cornflakes or something, then next day put the pound on the lottery !! read more
