Amazing experience!! I went to Brides for a Cause without any idea of what I wanted or even what dress size I was. I had never even been to a bridal shop before! I found my dress in 30 minutes!! The ladies there are so supportive and kind. They give you space to shop around with zero pressure to buy. The dresses are all nicely organized by size lined up on racks. There was a great selection of size 0-12. The selection did get slimmer after size 16. I was worried they would all be outdated but they're not! (I saw multiple sample dresses in wonderful condition too) for size 10-12: Most were around $450 id say? I believe I only saw a few over $1k (highest one $1.3k?) and those were dresses retailing for $6k+ new. You're allowed 10 dresses per appointment, no more than 5 dresses at a time in the dressing room. The dressing rooms sit across from each other, so there will likely be people from other parties watching you try on dresses too if you choose to walk out of the room to extend the train or add a veil. A portable fan in the dressing room, which is genius. lol Not a lot of seating if you have a maximum guest appointment, so I'd save those appointments for the weekdays? However, there *was* 2 other parties there and it didn't feel crowded at all. I'm just shy One dress caught my eye IMMEDIATELY. A 2023 Sarah Alouache fully beaded head to toe, corset bodice, lace underlay gown. Are you kidding--A literal DREAM. I wish you could see the detail in person. Fit perfectly. It's stuningggggg. I thought for sure it was going to be at least $1.2k since it retails for almost $5k. But it was $800! Totally reasonable for a dress like this. I'm almost positive it's unaltered too which leads me to think this was a sample and never worn off the floor. TIP: The street parking was rough, you need to get there at least 15 min before your appointment (I recommended 30 on the weekends) There's cheap parking 2 blocks down at Roosevelt square. We parked right next to that for $1.75 for 2 hours on a Saturday. So extremely cheap for Seattle. The walk is very short! read more

Our first stop. And the first dress I tried on! It was fate I can say without a doubt, everyone should check out their shop prior to going anywhere else. That $2500 dress could very well be here for a fraction of the cost. I literally had this same dress screenshot two different times and placed in my "wedding" folder. I was SHOCKED when I saw it. Thank you so much to all the gals that help make it what it is, and to all the brides who donate... which btw many are dressed from floor models so to say. Many I tried on still had the original tags. FIVE stars all the way around. read more

My sister in law came here to find her wedding gown and we had such a great time. This is not your usual experience with champagne and individual stylists, but more like a fire sale at Kleinfields. Brides and their guests are encouraged to browse the racks of previously owned dresses in search of "the one" then try them on a few at a time on our own. It was fun to have the freedom to explore and we walked away with a beautiful gown at a bargain price! read more

I had a much better experience my second time there when I brought someone with me. I didn't end up buying my dress from here but it's a great selection of secondhand, less expensive, off the rack dresses. I still think that you should only go here if you know what you're getting into because it's very different from a typical bridal experience. read more

Amazing selection, knowledgeable sales associates! Very relaxed environment to shop in.

I really really want to live this place. They are a non profit bridal store that sells heavily discounted dresses and accessories. All the proceeds go to charities that support women. Great cause, great prices, events and sales, convenient location. However the service is lacking and the condition of many of the dresses is not great, requiring extensive repairs in addition to standard alterations and also needed dry cleaning. That made the seemingly affordable price tag, nearly the same as a new dress. I was deciding between two dresses here and ultimately ended up buying one custom from a local shop due to the condition of the dresses and lack of service and support at Brides for a Cause. It's a shame because I wanted to love this place and support them. For nearby brides on a budget and looking for a better service experience and better condition dresses, try Blue Sky Bridal in Greenlake instead. Similarly one time worn or samples dress on sale, but the experience is night and day. read more

I LOVED my experience here. When researching shops, what stood out to me was that this shop donates part of the proceeds to women and girl-focused causes. I was already feeling some type of way about expecting to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress for my wedding. While I didn't want to spend thousands on a dress, I also wanted to choose a beautiful dress fitting for one of the most important days of my life. Here, I found my gown for a little over $800 (original price was almost $3000). Score. Granted, do know most of these dresses are gently worn/previously-owned and may have small imperfections. I have no gripes about this. I get to be the lucky bride caring for this dress at this time and with tailoring/altering, no problem. What I wasn't expecting was to find my dress so early into my dress shopping. My hope was to try on different styles and figure out what kinds of styles I liked best. My dress was the third one I pulled off the rack, second I tried on. Everything else paled in comparison. That's how I knew...but was initially nervous to commit. That's when the staff assured me finding your dress early on happens more often at their shop than you think. Their shop has a wider variety of options and styles than a big box bridal shop. When I looked up my specific dress, the nearest shop to carry it is in Canada. This whole experience was lovely and I am grateful for the wonderful service and kindness of the staff. They were exceptional in making this experience as stress-free as possible. I felt like I could focus on enjoying the process and tuning into how I felt in each dress. Much gratitude. I highly recommend them. read more

I had a great experience at Brides for a Cause Seattle. While options in the fit of dress I was looking for (column) were limited, the general selection in my size range was extensive. I ended up choosing a dress that was *nothing* like I had pictured getting, but is stunning! It is a sample and was NINETY FOUR percent off the retail price. I walked out of there with a gorgeous dress that only needs small repairs and only cost $325. Would recommend to anyone who is not dead set on a very specific dress! read more

In high school, I volunteered at an event that featured Brides for a Cause. I enjoyed the experience and loved how part of the proceeds went to charity. They have been in my memory ever since then, and I wanted this to be my experience as well. I recently went with my maid of honor and was so excited to try on dresses and see what I liked best. The staff was so helpful and encouraging throughout my appointment. Even though I went past my hour, the staff let me take my time to say yes to the dress. I was not expecting to buy a dress at my very first appointment and was so happy with the price! Thank you so much! I highly recommend Brides for a Cause. read more

I visited both the Portland and Seattle locations and both were wonderful experiences! Staff are very friendly with the perfect amount of attention when needed without feeling overbearing. Very professional and knowledgeable about the options as far as what is possible with alterations and made sure to ask before stepping in to help clip dresses to better show the final look. As an introvert, I appreciated the level of support along with the easy-going environment which made the search for the perfect dress more enjoyable. The dress was a steal and in perfect condition with tags at $700! Will most definitely recommend to all my girlfriends. read more

The team was very helpful, and we found dresses that were exactly what we were looking for; presented at an amazing discount.

I went previously to the Tacoma location before coming here and I will say I preferred this one way more! I feel like this location had more variety in sizes 16-18 and I tried on so many beautiful dresses! They only let you try on 15 dresses during your appointment. I will say we were kinda uncomfortable with one of the ladies whenever we caught a glimpse of her I felt like she was judging everyone really hard, and definitely made the vibe bad. I will say though we were helped by Maya and she was amazing! She was carrying this store and helping everyone so much, and she put a beautiful veil on me. The prices were also very good for how beautiful the dresses were. I would highly recommend anyone getting married to come here and try on dresses. read more

Brides for a Cause is such a lovely place. They have a really great mission and are very customer service oriented. My experience involves donating a dress. While we did not buy from Brides for a Cause, my wife and I both donated our dresses to Brides for a Cause after we heard about them and heard about their mission. We are so glad that we did. We hope that someone benefits from our dresses. The donation experience was very easy and very seamless. We dropped them off, spoke with an associate, and got a tax receipt. They were very grateful to receive our dresses. The store is very organized, and very clean, and the dresses have amazing prices as well! I highly recommend them whether you are buying or donating! read more

We very unexpectedly found my daughter's dress here in the hour we had to try on! She tried 10 and this was the 6th one. It was a designer sample very quality dress -never worn. I know we spent half of what we would have at another shop. Love the concept and cause! Great price -even with the staggering Seattle tax! read more

Firstly, I love the premise of this place. Thank you for putting some proceeds toward women- and girl-focused charities!! The Seattle store is a little more cramped than I thought it would be based on the videos I've seen on social media from other locations. They allow you + three guests, and though they give you a time limit (I think an hour? I forget), they are lenient about it, so if you're not done by the time your appointment is over, they'll let you stay a little longer to finish up. They had a good selection of dresses, but just know that because a lot of these are second-hand, there may be some imperfections like a little tear or a missing button or a subtle stain. But they're priced with that in mind, so the cost isn't as much as a new dress. I didn't end up finding a dress I loved, but that's ok. There were plenty of great dresses, and I almost went with a cute midi Marilyn-Monroe-esque dress for $250, but ended up passing on it because there happens to be something on Etsy I like more. Give this place a try! They're nice, friendly, affordable, helpful, and have a wide variety of styles. Best of all, they give some proceeds to charities!!! read more

I wasn't expecting to walk out with a dress. I had 1 hour to shop and my intention was to check out different styles and see what would look good on my body. Staff was available to help, but they're hands-off and only check-in every once in a while. I prefer it this way because I was worried about feeling pressured to buy a dress. The whole shopping experience felt organized and quick. My sisters helped me put on the dress, but the staff can help if you ask. They had a really big selection and I tried on about 13 dresses in 1 hour. Wild! You just grab the dresses and bring them to the fitting room to try on. Many of the dresses come with subtle imperfections, but that's why they're priced so affordably. For the price of the dress, you can easily get the dress cleaned or altered and the overall dress will still be under budget. There were also some unworn dresses. I ended up scoring an unworn dress. I still can't believe it! Highly recommend going to this store before any other bridal store. The selection and deals are incredible and hard to beat! read more

The manager Kaylee called my MOH and I to talk about our experience and she is so sweet and fantastic. Our experience sounds like it wasn't the norm, just some bad training. I have no doubts that if Kaylee was working out experience would have been much better but it's disappointing that level isn't carried out by the other women working. She offered a few options to help rectify everything which is very appreciated. Thank you Kaylee! read more

I came here a couple weeks ago to find my dream wedding dress. I'm not super picky and I definitely opt out on spending an arm and a leg for a dress I'm going to be wearing for one night. I tried on about 6 dresses, going in there I thought I liked the lace style but it wasn't for me. I was able to return back with the dress of choice for a whooping $615, $705 after tax. I love love love how friendly the staff were and how helpful and sweet they were. I would Recommend Bride for a Cause any day. The one downside to this place is the inventory on the dress, you will find that the selection isn't huge but if your dream dress is there, it's there. read more

Fun, low-pressure, affordable experience! This was my very first dress shopping appointment and I came in with very few expectations, especially since it was consignment and I didn't know what the selection would look like. I do wish there was a bit more selection for plus sizes (there were 3+ racks of sizes 0-6, and one rack each for size 12 and then a longer one for 14 and above). I felt myself running out of options to try pretty quickly, but that is understandable with consignment! But overall, the staff was so sweet and helpful and ready to clip up the dresses as needed and give advice for what alterations could look like. I did walk away with one dress that I just couldn't leave behind because it's a perfect reception dress and the price was SO good (I wasn't planning on an outfit change during my wedding but the price was right)! I love the charity aspect, and felt good spending my money on that and shopping secondhand. read more

Although I didn't find my dress here, I had a great experience working with Maya. Brides for a Cause was the first bridal shop I visited to try on dresses. They have a more hands-off approach compared to other shops, but are also super friendly if you have questions or need help finding a specific dress. Since these are donated dresses, some aren't in as new condition, but the price ranges are definitely more affordable here. They also had holiday sales in Nov/Dec! After a period of dressing shopping here and at other stores, I eventually figured out the style I was going for. Maya suggested I e-mail her with the style I was looking for and to check-in occasionally to see if any new inventory fit that style. She even offered to notify me if anything came in that matched. That way, I wouldn't have to make the trip to the store unless they had something, which is so accommodating and such a time saver for me. Definitely recommend scheduling an appointment here! read more

I really enjoyed my experience shopping at Brides for a Cause. It is a great place to start your wedding dress search! I tried on so many dresses and was really able to narrow down what I liked and did not like. There is no consultant to help you so bring a friend/family to help you in and out of the dresses. I cannot express enough what an AMAZING experience it was buying my dress from Brides for a Cause. The people here are so supportive and friendly. This was the first bridal store I have ever gone to and my experience could not have been better. One thing I did not know (and I probably should've done my research) was that the dresses there were exclusively donated by brides and bridal stores. Some of the dresses were used and in a good condition, while some are new (never worn to a wedding) but have been used as try-on samples. After scheduling an appointment online, I went there on a weekday and was the only customer there. Staff was incredibly helpful. She allowed me to take my time choosing the dresses to try on, and after seeing my styles, she helped me pick out a few dresses without being pushy. The fitting rooms were big and with a good lighting. Minus one star because the selection was quite limited for my size (0 or 2), but this is expected and I did see such a wide variety for other sizes. read more

Definitely did not expect to come home with a dress and went with the intention of just trying stuff on to see what styles I like since this was my first time trying on wedding dresses. The staff was super helpful and listened to what I liked and didn't like and ended up picking the dress I took home today! I didn't feel pressured and they didn't push me to purchase in order to make a sale which I really appreciated. They are appointment only because of covid and it was actually pretty nice because it wasn't crowded (it was only the staff, me and my +1 and another bride and her +1) so I was able to take my time while browsing the dresses. I feel super great about supporting their cause. I highly recommend checking them out if you're looking for reasonable and affordable dresses! read more

My daughter wanted to support a business that was helping the community when purchasing her wedding dress. We went to Brides for a Cause because of that. What a massive disappointment. They presented some dresses to her, and then put on the sales-job for one particular one. We purchased it based on their "glowing comments ". We were not advised of any significant problems with the dress. The dress was taken to a professional seamstress, who started work on it. After 12 hours of beading repair, she contacted us to discuss. The work was less than half done, and would entail at least 40 more hours of repair work to the beading, torn lace, ribbing in the bodice, and stains. She was shocked that none of this was pointed out to us during the try-on in the store. We have spent several hundred dollars at this point on a dress and repairs, that will probably only be suitable for disposal. These people only want to sell. They are supposed to be experts, and were wholly dishonest with us. Stay away! read more

I love the fact that this place donates money for buying a dress. They have a large variety and change of inventory very frequent. These dresses come from either floor samples from other bridal stores or donated from a bride. These dresses are prices so well. I had high hopes my daughter would find a dress here. We will be back for sure to check out new stock. The place only allows the bride look amounght the racks for dresses for covid reasons. I get it. But they allow the Mom to come and help you try on the dress once it is picked out. They take covid protocol 100%. Masks at all times and wash your hands. All the staff are friendly and helpful and so easy to work with. We had a great time and looking forward to coming back for another peak. read more

My friend came down from Canada to try on dresses and I made an appointment for her here. We showed up and were immediately dismissed and left on our own. So we wandered around the store looking at dresses by ourselves. The store is overwhelmingly full of dresses, so this task is not an easy one. We spent 25-30 minutes of our hour we booked just searching for dresses, which I may be wrong, but I feel like it's the employees job to pull things for the bride as they know the dresses better and locations of them. When she finally was able to try dresses on we got absolutely zero help putting them on her or pinning or any service at all. I don't really see the point in booking an appointment if it's the same shopping experience as going to a Macys. The prices of the dresses are great, but if you're looking for a bridal experience, this is NOT IT. But on another note, I've also been to the brides for a cause down in Tacoma, and that was great. And I'd highly recommend the Tacoma location. read more

Note that my appointment occurred June 2020 It was very easy to make an appointment and I was a little bummed I was only able to bring 2 guests but completely understood and supported their requirements. At this point you should know what type/condition of dresses you can expect at Brides for A Cause so yes you might need to dry clean your dress, or get some buttons replaced, lace repaired, etc but that's normal. I was fortunate to be a fairly common size (street size 6-8 so bride size 10-12) so there were tons of dresses to choose from. Since your appointment time is limited I'd suggest coming here once you have a better idea of the style of dress you'd like. I had gone to a few other boutiques before so this made it much easier to focus on dress styles I wanted. My sister and mom were rockstars helping me in and out of dresses, I probably tried on about 10-12 (the associate said most people average less than that but I'm a quick changer and decision maker.) The associates are friendly and helpful but don't expect constant attention and assistance, they'll pull dresses if you tell them what you're looking for but are also assisting other brides. I narrowed it down to a few but wasn't in love so after my warning for "last call" I went back one more time and grabbed one last dress. This actually happened to be the dress I ended up choosing. Once I made my choice the associates clipped me in so I could better visualize the dress after alterations and even walked me through some veil options. I absolutely loved my dress and felt like myself but Bridal which I think is the best best best way to feel on your wedding day. The associate rang me up and gave me a helpful list of seamstresses. If you have garment bags remember to bring one otherwise you'll need to buy one that's nothing special for $10. I can't recommend this boutique enough! read more

I love the cause of this establishment and that you are able to browse the racks on your own, but I wasn't able to find any dresses that fit me with the quality I was hoping for. I wasn't expecting pristine condition since the dresses are donated, but unfortunately the few dresses I liked had a snag or a stain that I wasn't sure I could get out after purchase. I had already found a dress elsewhere that wouldn't require alterations, so that was a better deal in my case. I would suggest Brides for a Cause to people who are planning on getting alterations anyways, so if there are any blemishes/snags, they will get fixed/removed anyways! read more

Staff were all friendly, giving compliments and not being too pushy about time limits or dress limits or anything. I loved that I felt beautiful there each time I visited. I had a wonderful experience today at the Seattle location of Brides for a Cause. The customer service experience was excellent, and it was a wonderful place for someone like me who prefers to shop alone and keep things low key. They were friendly and informative when I arrived. The dresses are arranged in racks by street size which was helpful for me since bridal sizing is variable and usually runs a couple sizes smaller. You're able to try on up to five dresses at a time with a max dress try on of 15 per each one-hour appointment. I ended up getting a gorgeous sample dress that was about 25% would I have paid retail. And how amazing that they're a nonprofit that supports women-focused charitable organization. Highly recommend! read more

I can't say enough good things about BFAC, the organization as a whole and its charitable focus (amid an industry that is more often than not, the antithesis), and the staff of the Seattle store in particular. I have consistently been wowed by the staff and management of this location. The store is always clean and organized, and the staff was always welcoming, making everything run seamlessly - from offering to carry dresses to your room as you browse (they're heavy!) to offering thoughtful suggestions for tailoring, design, or other gowns to try. In pandemic times, and being a Seattle transplant, I was also often shopping alone and the staff made the hairy process of trying on wedding dresses (think: fish and eye hooks, buttons galore, a million layers of tulle and lace, complex zippers) a breeze, while also being polite and gracious. You never know, you may luck out and find a dress off the rack! My best friend did! It's definitely not the bridal boutique experience so if you have a couple good friends with you and willing to sift through the rack, you could likely find your gown at an extremely reasonable price. Keep in mind alterations can go anywhere from 400 to 1000 as a basic estimate. Many places are not transparent about alteration prices, as it is offered through the wedding dress boutiques. If you fall in love with a dress at the top of your price point it's going to cost $400- $1000 more. We definitely recommend giving this place a shot and they have every style and sizes available. read more

A dear friend of mine recommended Brides for a Cause in Seattle when I expressed frustration that wedding dresses are really expensive brand new, and I'm only gonna wear it once! She had found her perfect dress there, and at an affordable price. I set up an appointment for a Saturday, and drove down from Bellingham Washington. I was able to bring two of my bridesmaids. I had set myself a budget of $300 and was hopeful I could stay within that budget. When we arrived to my appointment, staff was clear, compassionate, and efficient in explaining how to make the most of our one hour appointment. I've also always struggled with body image, I often refer to my body shape as an orange dreamsicle - Big on top with stick legs! . We got to shopping, and I tried on I think 10 dresses. I found my dress! It fit perfectly, and needs no alterations. Staff also was able to find me the perfect veil that goes with it as if they knew it went with that dress. They were also having a buy one get one free sale on bridesmaids dresses, and my two bridesmaids also found the dresses that they're going to wear to the wedding. Overall I only spent $320, and my girls split the cost of their dresses and paid $25 each. Staff also showed us best practices in putting the dresses on, making sure they fit right, and suggesting alterations that might help a dress feel better. I also appreciated that staff didn't constantly hover, but did help out when we asked them to or seemed to be having a struggle. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS SIMPLE AND FUN! read more
