My daughters and I spent the afternoon at Bridal Falls Waterpark for the first time this past Thursday, August 8, 2019. The 3 PM to close admission price is reasonable for the entertainment provided. We were having a great time. Everyone was enjoying themselves until I decided that I had enough and went back to the spot where we left our towels, t-shirts and sandals. That's when I discovered someone had taken my youngest daughter's "One Piece" anime bath towel (see the picture below - this isn't a likeness of the towel that was stolen but of the Japanese anime show - her towel was black).
We left our things in the shade under a tree near the path on the south-east side of the park, below where the park has a number of covered pick-nick tables that can be rented. All of those table were occupied when we put our things down, they were all empty when I came back to dry off (about 70 minutes after we put our stuff there). I mention this because the thief was likely someone sitting in those tables because my daughter put her towel under all of our other things, so someone must have been watching when put the stuff there; it is that of someone there is a real predator and what her from her arrival to where we put our things. The latter is just way too creepy and an even larger indictment of how little our society has progressed or, more likely, how much it has regressed.
My daughter was very upset when she found out; the towel was a gift from her uncle in Japan. The rest of her day was ruined. To the thief, I say "you've got some real problems and you are certainly collecting all the negative Karma you deserve". I assume it was some kid that hasn't learned enough positive life lessons (if so, I suspect the parents are either willfully ignorant or culpable). I hope it is that because if it was an adult then I'm quite concerned about the state of our society. Really, stealing a thinning anime towel of little or no real value except for the significant sentimental value it has to it's rightful owner, simply because it was easy to do or did you really need it that badly.
It seems pretty obvious that our society really hasn't progressed very much in the last 100 years or so. It seems society keeps getting dragged down by the lowest common denominator and, unfortunately, our lowest common denominator is pretty frickin' low. I know there are some amazing people out there, you see examples of it everyday, but it the dark, ugly side of humanity seems to be growing over the past few years. I hope it is only temporary.
I checked in with the Waterpark's office a couple times before we returned home to see if the thief or the thief's parents had a guilty conscience and return the towel to the office under the guise that "they found it". But no such luck. For us, I doubt if we will ever return to use the Bridal Falls Waterpark. However, if you are planning to use the park, I strongly suggest that you lock everything up or keep a body guard with your belongings at all times, no matter what you think they are worth. read more
