Coach Chris is amazing. He's super technical, loves what he does, always makes sure your child understands, and is comfortable with his coaching. When he sees something that needs improvement, he addresses it and explains it thoroughly. My son has a pretty timid personality, and somehow Chris gets him to smile at least once during his session. He makes a sincere effort with getting to know your child , which I appreciate. I love watching him coach my son. He's gained so much and improved his baseball skills tremendously with him. The Brickyard Cages are the best in San Diego. I have 3 kids, and they have all gone through programs at the Brickyard. My oldest took lessons from Chris, who could not have been more patient with him and helped him become an All-Star for his Little League. My middle child started there when he could barely walk, visiting the cages and camps. He is now at Trosky National and is obsessed with baseball. My daughter originally had little interest in baseball, but loved going and hanging out because of how great everyone was to her. At 9, she began to enjoy softball and came home from camp at the brickyard fired up about softball. They not only help build swings, but they also help build character. Horrible place, but clean bathroom at least. Their Google listing says they close Mondays @ 9, so got there 7:20pm & solo guy workers says NO, close @ 8pm. Gave us 2nd batting cage on left, we told him slow pitch & he gave us medium - fast & the machine threw balls every few times way to the right of diamond & then thew ball at my KNEE & now have a BIG BRUISE. He came over & said machine arm bent & broken ! No refund, just moved us over to 3rd cage to right & then told me that even after TURN OFF unit, that broken unit will throw 1 more ball... what ?????? Broken 2 machines ???? Kicked all out at 7:55pm. Plus, note that internal nets so low & too low, nicely hit air ball never can fly past 20 feet as cage roof netting way too low. The instructors are phenomenal with all ages of kids, and there are batting cages ranging from 35 - 90+ mph for all ages of kids (both baseball and softball). Drove down to the area to hit some baseballs with my son. We planned on going to a nearby location, but they were currently under construction. So, i yelped nearby places and found this one. We walked in close to closing time and asked how the place worked. The nice lady at counter explained that it's best to make a reservation and that they would be closing soon and couldn't accommodate us. I totally understood. The place had about 5 cages. Maybe more. So as we walked out, the owner Chris overheard the conversation about them closing soon. He said that he needed to set up for an event, but we could hit while he sets up. While we waited for a cage to open up, he said we can warm up at one of the faster cages, so we did. Great experience here. Most importantly great customer service. Brickyard has indoor batting cages used for baseball and softball. Facility is easy to find, clean, and the prices are reasonable. My son enjoys visiting Brickyard. My only complaint is towards one of the staff members. Instructions about when our session would be over or needing to turnover the cage for next use were not communicated. When our session was over, we began picking up the balls and packing our gear. One particular team member did not feel as though we were moving quickly enough so felt the need to, in a condescending manner, remind us how helpful a milk crate could be when collecting balls. I understand how scheduling is important for this business and would have had no issue with the facility ending our session a few minutes early to allow for time to pick up. I even took a minute before the end of the session to check in with the front desk to see how we were doing with regard to timing. I thought this particular staff member was the owner based on his demeanor. He was watching over everyone/everything like a hawk. Other than that, the place is great! read more

We showed up randomly and the cages were sold out, instead of turning us away and saying sorry, Jeff stepped in and accommodated us. helped us out by setting a reservation for the next day and even got us in the following week so we have a solid time. I started bringing my son to the camps when school was out. Yes camps in general can be a bit pricey at times but it makes it easier that they are flexible with the early check in times and the late check outs it made all the difference for this working family with no other care options. My son loved the camp. The staff is also pretty awesome. They started remembering his name by day 2. During Thanksgiving break not many camps open the Friday after Thanksgiving. They were a lifesaver. Tonight we came to the first lesson that I had previously paid for. My only regret was not getting him these lessons before last little league season. We love the Brickyard. I have two daughters who played softball and my son plays baseball and we have been going there for years and it has always been awesome. The staff is friendly and awesome and the coaches are very good, not only with teaching hitting, pitching, fielding, etc... but also how to be a player that coaches will appreciate, little things like always carrying your own bag, having a positive attitude, etc... I knew my daughter was in good hands when I brought her in for a lesson and a former MLB player and current coach was using the same hitting coach as us. We have worked quite a bit with Jeff, Chris and Erica over the years and they have all been very knowledgable and helpful. My son also goes to a lot of the summer camps and loves. them.
