Not even 30 seconds to a minute walking onto the court and my group was already being snapped at by an elderly woman on all the policies at Del Cerri Tennis Club and Pickleball Hub. The many rules include placing your bags on very specific designated spots - certain courts don't have a bench, certain courts share a small bleachers area, you can't drink water on the court. Etc etc. It's totally fine to have standards and rules but it's not fine to be rudely condescending literally SECONDS into showing up our FIRST time. All of this condescending and uppity attitude and they charge $20/hr for a court! I much prefer Barnes for their ample parking, better weather, and welcoming attitude.

Note that you have to sign up for open play online and it appears to fill up quickly. Their Open play is convenient for people with day jobs since it started at 6:30pm. It is relatively easy to find but the parking lot was smaller than I expected (although there were open spots when I arrived). As i was new, the check-in person was very nice and explained the format, where to find the bathrooms, etc which I especially appreciated. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of courts, ranging from beginner to intermediate (majority were there) to advanced. They're in a long corridor with courts on both sides and have decent seating areas and good lighting. However I do wish the bathrooms were closer. Overall I had a good time and was able to play quite a few games with friendly people.

Their tournaments do not favor teams unless you're in the top 3. Play Volo or On The Clock Sports, way more organized. Shoot even San Diego Softball is better than this bootleg league.

We've played several seasons at Serra Mesa and Nobel but this may be the last. This is a poorly…read morerun league and they don't seem to care much about the players or their experience. With the fees you pay and the bare minimum they need to offer, they don't even provide you with real bases to run on. Sometimes the lights go off in the middle of the night games, leading to shortened games, though this may not be their fault. The umpires are inconsistent. I tried contacting the owner and operator of the league to discuss the issues with no response. You do get what you pay for - will consider another league in the future. UPDATED REVIEW: I was contacted by Mitch and Pete after my posting. I will say that Pete did make an effort to address the situation to a certain extent, and that effort is appreciated, though I can't say the same for Mitch, who was rather unprofessional and rude in his response. Though the customer service aspect certainly was lacking, once the conversation was started, it appeared that at least Pete does seem to care about the player experience. He has made positive changes to correct the problem we had with the bases.
