Breakfast is excellent and reasonable. Problem is it has some of the worst service on the seacoast. You can stand inside the door until hell freezes over and nobody will seat you, so just walk in and grab a table on your own. Most recent visit resulted in total frustration trying to get waited on. After 15 mins. I just got up and walked out. Previous visit, the waitress tried to stiff me by overcharging. Will I return? Yes, because the breakfasts are good, albeit noisy and crowded. read more

Went on a Sunday morning at 9 am. It was crowded. Wait staff are efficient and we sat with a view of the kitchen - these people work hard. Food was decent, nothing amazing, just good standard fare. They cook the omelets a long time so they are a bit tough. Portions are plenty big and they are generous with cheese & butter. First, I need to start by saying that we didn't eat, so, I can't comment on the food. That being said, We were in Rochester and were looking for a place that served breakfast late in the day. A quick Google search brought up Brickstones. First of all, we drove by it because the lettering on the sign was so small, that we didn't see it. My mother is handicapped, so, we parked in a handicapped spot at the bottom of the ramp in front of the restaurant, thinking that she could use the ramp as she has difficulties climbing stairs. She couldn't use the ramp because there was a big patch of ice at the end of it. She wasn't going to take the chance of falling, so, she used the stairs. One would think that an establishment would take the extra time to make sure that all areas, especially a handicapped ramp, would be clear so that all patrons would be safe and that the restaurant would be accessible. The door didn't have any hours on it. It just said "a.m & p.m" on the door without specific hours. It was about 12:55 p.m. when we went in. The first thing we noticed was the chipped paint on the wall. Kind of a turnoff. Not being local, we were unsure of whether we were to stand there and wait to be seated, or, just seat ourselves as there wasn't a sign. As we stood there, a kind gentleman who was eating, told us that we could find our own seat. After we sat, it took a few minutes for a waitress to get to us. As we were waiting, I happened to pull the restaurant up on Yelp to check the ratings. I noticed, as the waitress got to our table, that the restaurant closed at 1 p.m. It was EXACTLY that time. I asked the waitress about this and she confirmed, that yes, they were closing. We graciously got up and left. 1. We didn't want to be rushed. 2. I would HATE it if someone did that to me at my place of employment when we were closing. That's a crappy thing to do. I kind of wish that we could have tried the food as the reviews make it sound great. The overall appearance wasn't fantastic. The place looks like it needs a hug. I would recommend that the hours of the establishment be noted on the door so that people from out of town know exactly whether or not they should go in. I probably wouldn't go back to Brickstones if we were back in the area. read more

Spinach Feta Tomato Omelet! What a great little restaraunt. I have been coming here since they took over from the old owner and they sure have done a great job On the weekend get there early because the place will get packed. The coffee is good and they always keep your cup full. The staff is super friendly and if you are a regular they know your name. I have never had a bad breakfast here! there is ample parking since it is in the mill parking lot. A little off the 125 beaten path but its worth the detour into downtown Gonic! read more

Tried Brickstones for Father's Day breakfast. The food was good and the portions were huge. I was especially happy with the large side of bacon! Some places only give you a few skimpy slices. Here, I got a plate of 5 or 6 slices of crispy thick sliced bacon. Delicious. My pancakes were big and dense. I could only finish half of the 3 pancake stack. I would actually give Brickstones a 4 and a half. The decor is simple and it is small, but we were able to find a table right away. The only real turn iff was that the staff was smoking outside on the side of the building. They should smoke out behind the building so customers don't see it. Our family of five walked in yesterday expecting a delicious breakfast. We were met by a waitress with purple hair with food in her hands who spoke to my father and said there are open booths in the back. My dad said "can they fit five?"And she replied in a snarky, rude tone " I can't talk now I have to serve this food". Ok well you spoke to him. So, my dad looked in the back and we decided we would wait. No problem. We've waited there a number of times. She continued to sputter about us to her colleagues in the kitchen. Mind you, we have said nothing and are not impatient at all. Another waitress pointed out a table in front that could accommodate five so we proceeded to add a chair and sat. The first snarky waitress came by once we were settled and said "this isn't going to work, I come through with hot foods and drinks. This is unacceptable." Well ok. Your fellow waitress colleague suggested this table to us. We didn't ask for it. And clearly you don't want us here. We did nothing. Said nothing. We weren't looking for a fight. We were just looking for breakfast. AND we were willing to wait. We've been there many times before. And waited. This waitress, on the other hand, was looking to pick a fight I guess. So, because of her (and only her) we left and spent our $60 on breakfast across town. And it was equally delicious and we were treated nicely. read more

Love Brickstones for breakfast. For a while it was a "secret" that I never would have reviewed for fear of drawing the crowds people like me seek to avoid...but they found it anyway. As far as breakfast goes it has a pretty varied menu, good service and cozy seating. Its really close to me which is a plus but I would give it 5 stars even with a bit of a drive!!! read more

This nice little place in Gonic, NH is a wonderful place to get breakfast. The prices are more than affordable and the food has always been delicious and hot. Sometimes there can be a wait, but that's to be expected because the prices can't be beat. My favorite dish there is the Big Breakfast. Generous portions for about $6! But the real treat is hands down the steak tips for breakfast! Their parking lot has ample parking too which is nice. I recommend Brickstones if you're ever in the Gonic area and want a delicious & hot breakfast at a great price. They also offer lunch but I've only ever gone in the mornings but I'm sure their lunch menu is tasty as well! read more

Hidden jewel!!!!! Great prices and great food!!! Huge portions always have a to go box filled with leftovers. I pay for a family of 5 and my bill is usually $25-$30 MAX! If I were to get the exact plates somewhere else it would be at least $50 and smaller and most likely not as good. read more

Fantastic food, but the sounds of the owner/cook yelling at the wait staff makes it difficult to enjoy the food. The wait staff turnover is high & there has been a "help wanted" sign on the front door for months. The place needs a thorough cleaning & repainting, new/clean menus, & seating that doesn't have rips or duct tape holding it together. Cute place with excellent prices. I used to always go to ihop until I found this place. This place has real breakfast foods with great serving sizes and the prices are unbeatable. I do wish the seating was a bit more comfortable, could use an upgrade for sure. The service is quick and the food is always served so fast. The food was great. And the waitresses are awesome as always. I eat breakfast here at least once a week. But unfortunately that will not continue. It has been 3 times now in the last year that the old guy that works the kitchen has yelled and cursed at an employee within earshot of the entire dinning room. It makes for an uncomfortable meal for everyone. I'm not sure if he is the owner. I hope not. Because he is completely unprofessional and should not be left in charge of any employees. If he is the owner, I pity the entire staff. If that is how he acts when customers are around, I'd hate to see what he is like when they aren't. read more

I really want to like Brickstones and have eaten breakfast there four times in the past few months. The food and service were mediocre. I wasn't at all impressed with the coffee or the French toast. The wait staff has been friendly but not always very attentive with one time leaving us repeatedly forgotten. If you do try Brickstones, I recommend going on a weekend. The food was better on the Sunday visits (when the restaurant was busier) than the weekdays. read more

I don't usually talk bad about a restaurant , unless it is really bad, or consistently just not good. I've been there 4 times for breakfast since they opened. Every time, the service was slow and the food was mediocre at best. Today however, we had slow service and worse food. Pancakes were like inner tubes, sausage and steak tips charred on the bottom. Seriously, the steak cut easier than the pancakes. It was bad enough that my, otherwise good tipper of a wife, was less than generous. That's my restau-Rant. read more
