Just a fraction of the minifigs available.

What an awesome concept and why didn't I think of it before? My Lego fan(s) not only like the sets but he also likes the minifigures that come with them. Sometimes he buys sets *just* for the minifigs inside. So what if you have a million bricks already but want a rare figure, or even a custom minifig, like a Zombie fighter? Bricks and Minifigs is the perfect answer. They have a huge selection of minifigs, all available individually. Now, the prices are fairly high (in my opinion) but to a Lego fan whose allowance is burning a hole in his pocket, maybe they're reasonable. My son easily spent 45 minutes in the small shop obsessing over which minifig or BrickArms weapon to buy. Apparently they will buy used Lego pieces and resell them, which could come in handy one day when Lego's fall out of favor at my house. The guys behind the counter knew their stuff and were patient with all the questions from the many young customers. I predict many requests to go back to this shop from my minifig fan.

Fun place, friendly staff. They just changed their location, so it took a bit of driving around to find the new place on 117th. One wall has complete sets, and the display cases contain minifigs and other specialty sets. The center aisle contains bins of minifig pieces and bulk bricks. I love playing with Legos, but I'm not a Lego geek, so I don't know whether the prices for mini-figs are competitive. $10 for a custom minifig seemed a bit steep to me, but I also associate minifigs as something I would accidentally step on if my younger brother didn't put all of his toys away, so I'm probably not the best person to ask. Overall seems like a good place to get rare sets, build custom minifigs, or buy common pieces in bulk. Wish they had a more extensive inventory, so hopefully in their new location they can expand.

Such a cool idea for a store. Was walking into the mall with my two year old and he was drawn to this place like a magnet. Legos everywhere! Pieces for the kids to play with and bun after bun of pieces to sort and buy. My favorite was a bin in the back full of Lego character parts. I built our whole family out! Unfortunately another little guys thought it was cool too and took them from me. Pricing are interesting to me. I am assuming it's a good deal considering how pricey packs are at regular stores but will have to look into more.

We had a birthday party held here and they were wonderful with our 4 to 12 year old guests! They welcomed the youngest of birthday builders (not every store in their chain does). Their prices may not be the most competitive on sets, but they're friendly and have great selections on what they do carry. Two sets that were used and pre-built that my kid was super excited about. We built a street sweeper from scratch too! Great rainy day stop.

In years past, I've always shopped in-store but started doing curbside last year when COVID hit. This year I did all my Christmas shopping for family kiddos online and had them delivered (free of charge if you live 10 miles or less from the store and your order is over $25) to my house. Personally delivered by Nora. I usually check the catalog I get in the mail, then go online to find if what I want is in-stock. Their website has been updated and it is so much easier to find the items you want. Much more intuitive and easy to navigate. There's a tad of a learning curve specifying that you want an item gift wrapped via their order form but a phone call to the store cleared that up immediately. Everything I wanted was rung up, gift wrapped FOR FREE, and delivered almost faster than I could put on my shoes and drive to the store. No parking hassle or being exposed to other people either. I love that I can shop locally and NOT at a Big Box store. Pretty competitive pricing as well. Usually there's a coupon for 10-15% off your purchase in the catalog, so that helps save a few dollars also. I'm a customer for life!

Piccolo Mondo is a good toy store with a great selection. Prices are ok. Staff is helpful and…read morefriendly.

I have been shopping at Kids at Heart when I come to Portland on business for quite some time. I…read moredid again this weekend. I have experienced a pattern of somewhat unfriendly behavior by some staff working at this store before, but really thought nothing of it until a recent experience both in their store and outside of. I will add however that not all employees here can be blamed for the actions of others. I also just happened to attend a birthday party early Sunday evening for my daughter's friend. Another individual was there, who coincidentally owns a retail store in the same area as Kids At Heart, and was explaining after the party to a few of us how he bought some Needoh there and how he was texting other parents ahead of this party that they could find them there too. He went on to say that days later, the owner of Kids at Heart barges in to his store during business hours, in front of his own customers, and accuses him or buying Needoh from her store and selling them at his. Mind you, he is showing us video footage from his phone to back up how outlandish the Kids At Heart owners behavior was and I watched in confusion because he tried calmly explaining to her that it was simply coincidence and she didn't seem to care. What was tacky was how she had no visual proof of her claim, only some he said-she said story, then started going off about prices of items in his store and on his website while shouting some type of action against his store. I could only wonder if she was there for more competitive or territorial reasons, but then I would be guilty of assumption as well. This behavior was all over an extremely popular $5-$15 toy sold at hundreds of other stores, which I see listed on Walmart and Amazon for $30-45. Many of the parents have had to drive around for weeks hunting for these things in preparation of the party, time was running out, and this other business owner kinda saved the day for us by making sure every kid (and some parents) at this party had a Needoh, or ones to gift, so everyone could have the same experience as the birthday girl. The picture I took at this party with one of the same Needoh styles this man purchased from Kids at Heart (and other stores too) kinda proves my point because they clearly ended up at a personal event, not in his store. After hearing this story and seeing proof to back it up, I was shocked by the owner of Kids At Heart and her behavior. I am not one to typically review retail stores and I was not asked to leave this review by anyone involved, but I certainly felt it needed to be done since the owner of Kids At Heart acted in such a hostile way towards another business that supported them. Overall, my experience this weekend combined with the above - I now choose to look elsewhere for children's gifts (and so will a handful of other parents).

I had very fond memories of this spot. I have taken my nieces here many times and I can tell this spot will also hold a special place in their hearts. Theres a ton of toys and they are really good at rotating out their merchandise. There's a lot of toys that will appeal to a variety of age groups. Sometimes they can be on the pricier side, but nonetheless a very fun spot to take the kiddos. There's a variety of fun charms too for the children to build their own charm bracelets. This is an activity my nieces enjoy every time we come by. The staff here are always so friendly and patient with the kids as well.
