R&B made it clear that not only were there a ton of gamers in the area whose needs weren't being addressed whatsoever, but that a knowledgeable staff and a stable space were all that was needed to give that community a home. Also, to be so inclusive of women that my longtime gamer buddy's wife was stunned when she walked in and was not only one of several women in the building, but the only one not actively buying or playing... that's how you start to need double the space. I'll admit, I don't like seeing this place go and I'm not a fan of the trend I'm seeing. We lost the town's only bookstore to Beaverton. Retro Game Store's gaming club and Gongali also moved from west of 185th to Beaverton. If Hillsboro and Forest Grove can't find the space for businesses like these--the ones that actually build communities, create third spaces, and encourage people here to join in and become part of something--they're going to keep losing both business and interest to Beaverton, Portland, and other places that are generally more encouraging. I feel welcome and comfortable here. They have a bunch of board games, of course plenty of dice, a whole section for minis, and most importantly very friendly and helpful staff. It can get a bit loud when there are multiple events at the same time but that's the only down-side I can think of. Also worth noting, they are still requiring masks for customers, which makes the in-person gaming easier to attend (especially for those with immuno-compromised loved ones). Much appreciated!

Pro Tip: if you order any food or drink, you can rent out any game they have on the rental shelfs for free. The have a variety of two player games, party games, strategy games, card canes, etc to rent. All the way from easy games for kids to challenging games for more demanding games. The staff at the rental counter and the cafe were the friendliest and gave excellent recommendations in games. The games they have for sale cover many popular choices but also lesser known games. They also sell gaming accessories such as D100 dice!!! Oh my! The cafe even has a 3D printed dice tower if you want to choose the fate of your food order. lol! There is limited alcohol here and the food is mostly snacks, but they do have sliders and chicken tenders, pop, liquid death, a couple of canned alcoholic drinks. For a whopping $12 I spent on food, I got to try 4 games, and.....it was karaoke night and we sang songs with random strangers in the specially reservable room they had. You could select the songs on the machine or through an app. They could use a little more variety in the song list that have but a lot of the popular suns are there. I can't wait to go back and try some more games. Parking was street parking and a little challenging but there are side streets too with street parking. We wanted to go in but the employee was busy at the moment so we had to wait several minutes before we could go in. It felt awkward for us as we didn't want to interrupt or rush the employee but after waiting, the employee was kind enough to open the door and let us look around. We got a One Piece pack and while we were purchasing, we were told that they have a rewards program that is free to join so we decided to join that too in case we come back. The prices seem fairly priced so it is definitely a great spot to buy board games or TCGs.
