Back to the social hours, which are Monday-Wednesday evenings in the bar area. The bar is well equipped; the service and drinks are superb. Period. My companion and I started New Year's Eve 2025 at a social hour and enjoyed a superb cheese and charcuterie platter in addition to excellent glasses of wine. The Willows is an oasis of class and good taste in the Harrisburg area. I highly recommend a visit to Social Hours if you'd like a nice evening or would like to evaluate the space for a future event. The entire space is open for self-guided tours unless there are events underway.

When I walked in today to indulge in a lunch that I don't have to clean my kitchen after it prep the vegetables before. I was met with a pleasant fragrance of food. It wasn't a specific dish, and nothing overpowering, just the smell of an active, clean kitchen with good ingredients. The counter had a display case of 'bolis and pizzas and two registers in front of an exposed kitchen area with upbeat music. The employee at the register was friendly and kind. We shared a joke about the restaurant taking care of prepping the veggies. She told me about lunch specials involving an individual mini 'boli or pizza slices. I opted for a Large Grilled chicken salad with its balsamic vinaigrette and onion rings to go. While I waited I took note of a clean and orderly split dining room, a case of cold beverages and, to add some charm, a turn key style candy filled gumball machine. When I got home, the onion rings were still hot, with crispy breading and soft onions. One of the peeves I have with onion rings is when the onion doesn't have a "clean bite" and you end up pulling the onion out of the breading. These didn't do that. The slices are thick enough and are cooked to the right temperature to have a clean bite with a tender onion texture. There was a small cup of ranch. The salad was very filling! It was topped with chunks of grilled chicken, a handful of shredded mozzarella, some iceberg lettuce, sliced Roma tomato, thin slivers of red onions, black olives, pickled bell peppers, cucumbers, and shredded carrots. I found an olive pit in my salad. It happens, and I'm glad I didn't chip a tooth on it! I'm also glad I don't have to pit olives. There was a good size piece of bread in the side with the balsamic vinaigrette I asked for. The bread had a wonderful texture and the vinaigrette was nicely tangy. Overall, it's was a good lunch in a convenient location.

Staff were very friendly and helpful but with such a large event they seemed a little overwhelmed or could've used another person or two. We had to flag them down for water refills and eventually just went to the bartender for refills. Parking was a bit strange as you had to park on the side of the road or in a small lot that wasn't very well lit. This was around 6pm when its pretty dark and back a windy country road. Once that parking lot filled up there was a larger lot a bit back but again it was so dark and not well let we weren't sure if if was the right one or not.

Weir not only came in and set up tables on time, and according to my floor plan, but I also asked them to hang edison string lights around our venue.They did such a beautiful job, and used some creative liberties in the back of the venue with the lights, since I may have underestimated the length of a beam there. However, this place was great for me. I asked what was smoked that day and was told brisket is fresh every day and pulled chicken and ribs had just come off, so that's what I ordered. Let's break this down! The brisket was juicy with a nice dry dark bark crust. The meat was incredibly tender, breaking apart on my fork. A little fatty that didn't render but that's part of brisket. The rub really set off the flavor of the meat and I did not add any sauce to it, it simply wasn't needed. The chicken was my favorite meat. Served with no sauce, it was evident it was sitting in its own juices and that kept it moist. With chicken being so easy to dry out, this was great. The meat had great flavor and was oh so tender and juicy. I did try out some of their sauces with this and decided the smoky bbq spoke to me. My only negative of this joint came from the ribs. As I take my first bite, I have to pull something tough and get slapped in the chin by it. Say it isn't so! You leave the membrane on? Why oh why would you do that, nobody wants to eat membrane! Such a disappointment as the ribs were cooked well and the meat was tasty, although definitely the driest of the three I tried. For sides I had the street corn and the potato salad. I loved the salad, tons of flavor. The street corn was a miss for me as I did like the corn itself but when I'd grab a feta crumble in with it I did not enjoy the combination. The waitress brought me some greens to try as she could tell I didn't dig the corn and I ended up loving them. When you can pack that much flavor into greens it's a winner in my book. Speaking of the waitress, she's the reason this is five star for me. I was going with four star because of the membrane on the ribs however she is great and deserves a shout out. So kind from the moment I walked in, checking on me, making sure I enjoyed everything, and wanting to make it right if I didn't. She seemed to care so much about the business I thought she was an owner, turns out she's just proud of the place that she works at.
