Went here for a few drinks and dessert, these beignet's were amazing and so fresh!! The bar tender was helpful with the menu and gave great suggestions. Love the feel inside too, super cozy and loved that you could see the chefs prepare the food.

their food was like tasting Gods vagina, and then getting sucked into it like a black hole... amazing

Gumbo and jambalaya were very good. Just the right amount of heat for n both. I will be back for more.

We were looking for some delicious food while visiting Lake of the Ozarks, and found Brick House, a Cajun restaurant, on Google. We went for lunch with the kids on a Wednesday during the off-season. The dining area was not too busy, and the server took care of us quickly. I didn't know what to order, so I decided to try the gumbo, the jambalaya, and the coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp were fried perfectly and had good flavor. My Bloody Mary was also really good, with just the right amount of kick to it. I would 100% pass on the Jambalaya if I were to eat here again. It came out like a mushy ball of rice, and the flavor was just ok. Instead I would save room for the gumbo, because the gumbo definitely made up for where the jambalaya lacked. Bathroom had a black light instead of regular lighting. Price was in the medium range. We found parking right in front, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find easy parking during the regular season.

Breakfast was outstanding. Service was excellent. Ask for Alex when you come in. She is amazing and will take great care of you. We will be back!

Food was 6/10. Slow service due to low staffing. Waitress was very nice though. The ambiance is very country bar and grill vibes

Follow up dining experience is "not so much." New menu is a fail. No gumbo, no poor boys, just ordinary non-inspiring food. Sorry.

We ended up ordering the create your own Cajun Combo with a medium spice level that included 1 lb shrimp, 1 lb crawfish, two pieces of corn and a sausage; the fried catfish basket with hush puppies and an egg; and 6 hot wings with sauce on the side. Tarter and cocktail sauce and garlic butter came on the side. Everything was served piping hot and delicious. The boiled seafood was tender, flavorful and well seasoned without overpowering the delicate texture of the seafood. The catfish was lightly battered and had a clean flavor. The sausage had a gentle kick and was well seasoned with savory spices. We took the advice of Martin and dipped the sausage in the garlic butter - wow, a great recommendation! The hot wings were delicious. Had I known they were that good, i would have requested them as typically served tossed in the sauce. The hush puppies we not typical in that they too had a a great mix of spices and maybe herbs; crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The corn seemed to soak up the boiling spices as well and was tender and flavorful to the last bite. In addition to providing utensils, wet wipes, bibs and even gloves, they had a nice hand washing station near the entrance with great smelling soda and towels. It was a great space to wash up before and after eating. I would definitely return tho the Cajun Crab House if I was in the area - and I'd hope to find Martin and Maria working that day too.

The quality of the seafood was a very clean tasting seafood. Even the shrimp had a nice clean flavor. And we're you looking for butter? Oh, they do (not) spare the sticks of butter at this place! The potato. Oh yes, I said "potato". I have never had a seafood bowl - have (just) a single potato. The potato tasted absolutely great. But 1 potato? That was a joke - especially after you see what these items cost! The garlic butter: There was plenty of butter. Tye flavoring of the butter, certainly was unique of sorts. Seemed to have (possibly) a chili powder base. And though I thought it was good...I also got tired of the taste, after a bit. The Big Downer at this place: Cost. You see my (2) platters. Add (3) cans of Coke - the cost was $150.00. Yes, that's correct: $150.00. Sure, there's a whole lobster on one of the platters. BUT, it wasn't that big by any means. And let's remember: 1 potato was included in the platter. 1 small red potato, came with it; at that price! Lol. Conclusion: Krustaceans is where you should go - for the seafood boiler platters. A much better combination of quality, value and price.

The decor, views and staff was next to perfection- absolutely no complaints. We started with Diet Coke and Baxter's sunset drink, a beautiful looking drink - fun mix of mango margarita along with raspberry daiquiri. The drink was very tasty and refreshing. For our mains, we got the French dip (the best French dip in MO as per me, filled with juicy shaved prime rib, and Swiss cheese with super tasty Au Jus sauce on the side. I got it with perfectly seasoned delicious roasted potatos! This sandwich took me straight to heaven - emmmm. The rest of my family members got the blackened Mahi Mahi which was topped with house made mango salsa along with some rice and veggies. It was a slightly sweet and tasty savory dish. They also got the Cedar plank Salmon Grilled perfectly along with red wine Dijon sauce and some veggies on the side. Both were cooked well and very different refreshing flavors. We also got some sweet potato fries to go along with the fishes. To end the tasty lunch, we saved some room for some dessert! We got the Rich brownie, served with vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce. On one side, we were trying to keep the sugar intake low by sharing but on the other, It was a fight to eat the most bites of the ice cream haha lol. Overall, from the drinks to the entrées, to the sides, and the desert was perfect without any disappointments. If you're visiting Lake of Ozarks, then you have to make a stop at Baxter's Grill without fail!

If I could give partial stars, I would rate Baxter's in the range of 4.25 stars or so. Consistently above avverage!

Half a minute later Amanda returned with my drink (perfect Arnold Palmer) and a menu. She then gave me a few minutes to review the menu. Upon returning she asked if I had any question and inquired if I was ready to choose. Amanda was very knowledgeable polite and made thoughtful recommendations. Because this was my first visit I tried several different items to get the full experience. I started with a half pound Boudin Link, it was sensational. I was incredibly impressed that the Boudin was so delicious being so far away from Louisiana or Texas. I also ordered a half serving of red beans and rice with sausage, a half serving of jambalaya and a half shrimp Po boy. The Boudin came out first it was Cooked to perfection, exceptionally well flavored and served with a wonderful spicy remoulade. All of the dishes were very thoughtfully prepared, wonderful flavored, just the right amount of cajun flavors. The portions were huge even as half servings it was much more than I could eat. The cost was very reasonable and well worth it. While the meal was excellent, Amanda's attentiveness and genuine concern for customer satisfaction made it a perfect dining experience. I look forward to going there again and again.

See the crumbs in my basket they are not crumbs they taste like boiled canned oysters that at been breaded. They were tasteless and I keep eating one after the other hoping to get an oyster taste. All I could get was a greasy breading taste. You can also see the excessive grease in the basket too. Worst meal I've ever eaten. Plus it was expensive and this was the appetizer. The ambience was nice very festive and the waitress was kind. But the food was terrible I'm surprised they would even charge people for this. Left there sick from grease and I mean really sick and I kept belching oysters it was horrible.

When we arrived, the restaurant did seem a little understaffed, so service was slower than usual, but thankfully I had made a reservation and we had no trouble getting seated. Both dishes were fantastic. The pasta was basically like a rich, flavorful lobster mac & cheese -- absolutely delicious. The jambalaya casserole was topped with this amazing cheesy sauce that made it even better. The restaurant itself was such a cute spot, with way more seating than I expected, including an adorable patio in the back. Overall, such a charming place with amazing comfort food. The dining area was clean with a nice stamped concrete floor, had loads of natural light with huge windows in the back, and it had a beautiful New Orleans mural in the back. We wished for a bigger dish for the small cups of gumbo and red beans and rice because they were so good! I'm sure they'd come a bit more seasoned or spicer in the south, but in MO, they seemed to tame it down a bit - still delicious though! (And there are two hot sauces and a Cajun spice blend at the table.) The wedge salad with the homemade blue cheese dressing was delicious!! I'd order the dressing on the side though - our salad was swimming a bit... Enjoy your stop!!
