When we got a collections letter, we called and they said don't worry about it and that they would send it to the Navy. We continued to get the bills until the second collections letter arrived and we just paid it to be done with it. This has been going on for over 6 months. For those who aren't familiar with military medical, they refer you out to civilian practices when they don't have capacity to get you in. All required medical care is covered by the military for Active Duty personnel. Since my husband was retiring, that's what the Navy did. It was a requirement for his discharge from Active Duty and in no way his responsibility to pay. It's really frustrating that this small business could not get their communication figured out, and now we have to try and get reimbursed $1,000 from the military.

I called the office Monday morning and was given an appointment with Dr. Bach for that same morning. I was nervous about getting a front tooth bonded, and had never met Dr. Bach before. As usual, the office got me in right on time so that I had no need to wait to go back. As soon as I met Dr. Bach, she put me at ease. She was very confident that she could take care of my tooth, and that she would get it done in a short amount of time. She went beyond my expectations. She did such a beautiful job matching my tooth color and shaping my tooth. It truly looks as though nothing ever happened to it. She was so kind and concerned that I was pleased with the result. The X-rays were done very quickly, and the process was actually painful -- something I've never experienced before. The cleaning was also done very fast. After the appointment, I was told I had two cavities, which shocked me- i have never had cavities and I take really good care of my teeth. I decided to get a second opinion from two other dentists, and both confirmed that I have zero cavities. Because of this experience, I felt uncomfortable with the level of care and professionalism. There was a lot of people in the waiting room and I can see why because when they take you back there are so many little exam rooms all equipped with dentistry type of dentist stuff. First appointment, x-rays and a quick scrap and polish of the teeth. Then the news... I needed a full mouth deep cleaning under gums, and two root canals. My Amazon wish list items would have to wait, and next week I would return to take care of the damage. The good - I got everything done in one day because a patient cancelled. The bad- They had to double numb my mouth. I couldn't tell if I was drooling or just imaging it. The ugly- If you have insurance, all the procedures are going to be expensive. I would prepare yourself, and if you have to finance it, look at the finance charges, and pick the 3 month if possible. In the end, the staff was great, the work was thorough, and my teeth are probably happier than I am. Sure, I left with half my face numb and my bank account needing a root canal of its own, but that's more a reality of dentistry than a reflection on the office. If you need dental work done and can handle a little sticker shock, these folks will take good care of you.
