Now that the business has changed hands, the atmosphere has changed from caring to hard sales. They pressured me to pay $10K for services and really pushed a high interest finance plan. I made an appointment as it felt like they would not let me leave without one. I promptly cancelled it the next morning. I will be looking for a practice that is not pushy. read more

I've been going here for years. They recently lost the hygienist that I've always seen. Too bad because she knew what she was doing. They now have one permanent one and one temporary one. They scheduled me with the temp who was good enough, but I don't feel confident that I received the best cleaning that I could have. Before my appointment they called me twice wondering if I might want to change my appointment. Then they called 1/2 hour before my appointment to switch it to the next day. Keep in mind, this wasn't because of an emergency on their part. The office manager assured me that they would give me a discount for all the confusion. When I arrived for my appointment, I said hi to the office manager and she basically ignored me. I would have liked her to acknowledge me and thank me again for being flexible. Nothing. When it came time to pay, she hadn't told the office girls anything about my discount and in addition they charged me more than usual. It ended up being a big hassle. Just not the way to be treated after going there for years. The dentists do a good job, I was taken aback by this particular appointment. Will I go back....probably, but I might also ask around for recommendations for someone else. read more

Carolyn the hygienist is unprofessional, rude , and dismissive. She is not thorough and lacks empathy. She tries to push services that are not needed without proper explanation. Her overall patient care is terrible and asks random questions that have no thought or meaning behind them. Because of her poor attitude and lack of proper explanation I actually refused any services that day and wasted almost 2 hours of my day driving there. Not to include they had made me wait an extra 15 minutes when my appointment was at the top of the hour. When I had asked her for her name because she did not introduce herself at the beginning she told me to have a nice day?? No wonder why her patient care is terrible... she does not listen! In addition, she does not know how to ask the right questions to ensure she provides the proper dental services. Her explanation was so poor that she had to bring in the dentist to speak with me in which I felt ganged up on especially when Carolyn would insert her dumb questions while the dentist was trying to give me a decent explanation. However knowing that I would have to have Carolyn as my hygienist turned me off so I left rather then having to further deal with Carolyn. Such a shame because I have been gong to this place for 2 years now but because of my experience with Carolyn I will have to find a new dental office which is fine because there is one all over SD literally a block away from each other. Overall a terrible experience even from check-in (which wasn't even a proper check- in because I waited there for a while and when their person finally saw me he called me by the wrong name laughed and said to sit down. They usually collect updated medical history so I asked why this wasn't done so and the excuse was because the guy was not a receptionist - well duh but that is not an excuse but it's extremely unprofessional). This isn't the first time I've had a poor unprofessional experience here and this experience I had recently confirmed my decision to never come back and I recommend you do the same. The facilities are old and unclean(sat me down in a chair with no liner and the head area was yellowed). You can find better! Stay away from Carolyn and Mesa dental if you care about your well-being. read more

I've been a trusting patient of Mesa Dental Group for 10 years and thought I was being well cared for. That all changed last week when I was scheduled for a root canal, took the day off, then was told by the dentist in charge "he didn't feel like doing the work and I'm sending you to a enthodontist to have the root canal". Why didn't they decide that in November 2012 when I was last in the office scheduling the work?? He sent me off with a pussing, very infected molar that was so decayed it now needs extraction/implant. I suggest Mesa Dental group update their technology to digital, take full sets of x-rays annually and provide the level of service required by the American Dental Associations Code of Ethics. This dentist also admitted to breaking a root on another molar and offered partial refund. He won't talk to me in person so while I wait to recieve his written letter of intent, I'm warning those of you to get second opinions before investing your time and insurance dollars with Mesa Dental Group. Nice people- not the best dentists. I have cement in my mouth left from some crown work that I wouldn't have seen if it wasn't for digital photography. The staff is nice but "nice" isn't going to restore my teeth, my lost income or my faith in this team. Sorry~ read more

I chipped my front tooth playing tennis one night and Dr. B and his staff were nice enough to put a temporary cap on it the next morning. I got everything resolved within a week if my memory serves me. I just wanted to say Thank You for prioritizing my situation and doing a quality job. I haven't had any issues with my tooth since then. Dr. B and his staff are very nice and responsive to any dental needs which reminds me I need to make an appointment for a cleaning. read more
