I switched to this practice due to a change in my insurance coverage, having recently had a dental exam and X-rays just six months prior. These images were provided to UHD. At my initial visit, before even receiving an exam, I was told I would need 18 bitewing X-rays to create a full-mouth panorama. As a medical physician, I questioned the necessity of this, especially given that recent X-rays were already available. When I asked whether I could opt for the standard molar bitewings instead, the hygienist became visibly frustrated. It seemed clear he was accustomed to patients questioning this practice and annoyed by it. An associate dentist then came in to explain that the full set of X-rays was necessary so she could assess my bone structure and check for oral cancer. I explained that I am a physician and that this is not the standard method for oral cancer screening. She then claimed that this was the "standard of care." When I asked her to show me the ADA guidelines to support this, she brought back a chart that applied to patients with periodontal disease or dentofacial abnormalities--neither of which apply to me. After reviewing the actual ADA guidelines myself (see screenshot from this article: https://jada.ada.org/article/S0002-8177(23)00734-1/fulltext), it's clear that requiring 18 X-rays in this context is not evidence-based. I shared this with her, and she then suggested we "dissolve the relationship" and that I seek dental care elsewhere. If you are looking for evidence-based care, compassionate professionals, and a practice that respects patient autonomy while avoiding unnecessary costs, I strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere.

Also, I never felt compromised to inject any of the mercury he was removing as a damn I have never enjoyed the dentist before now!! Problems with bridges,problems with crowns, the original bridge was to low in the back and separated 2 times, but the dentist argues that it was because the other side had issues, the agonizing pain of removal the first time, the tooth in the very back was sensitive, the bonding would not hold, came loose again. and tooth underneath became abscessed, the 3rd attempt was impossible to remove so now my 3600 dollar plus bridge had to be cut in half, back tooth extracted he put 3 crowns in the upper left also one of witch had glue stuck on the inside between the teeth painful as all hell when he kept trying to free it up it had a gap between and food kept getting in he say the teeth moved forward and would have to replace center with a wider tooth so now I have another 1000 plus to add and also the front and rear teeth of that one also crowns replaced at the same time I was told have cavities and would need to be replaced, so more and more money, I could have had all new teeth and less aggravation for all this money and needless insurance claims, and calling me to get me to leave work set up an appointment then telling me they can't do the work when I get there until I pay an additional 600.00! Buyers beware get a second opinion before making decisions. To add I was told implants were not an option due to bite strength!
