Really good coffee, iffy service I live nearby and this is one of the coffee shops I frequent. I love they're coffee and their selection of whole beans as well as all of the various brewing accessories for sale. More than a few times I've come at different times during the morning and waited 10+ minutes for black coffee. After having had a few cups of their coffee on different occasions I discovered their large selection of whole beans. When someone helped me I had a few questions on their beans. I've worked in the coffee industry for 7 years (barista, importer, roaster, etc.) so I know what I'm looking for. They seemed offended that I wanted to know how they source and their roasting practices. I'll be back because the coffee is too good to miss out on, but they could brush up on their speed and stop being so snobbish when people have questions about their practices. read more

This coffee shop is in a great location, right amidst the hustle and bustle of the Village shops. The shop is clean and orderly, but I can imagine that a long line would get the best of their floor plan. It's a little narrow and L-shaped. It wasn't very busy when we went (around 5:15pm on a Saturday), and there's plenty of outdoor seating. We ordered a small almondmilk latte, and a small black cold brew. It was a little pricey (after 20% tip), but it's high-quality coffee. Definitely makes up for the cost. While I waited for my drink, I had a chance to glance over their cold case. They've got ready-made salads, burritos, and sweets - each that have a gluten-free and/or vegan equivalent. As a food-allergy and Crohn's sufferer, this is an awesome feature. They even had this gluten-free, dairy-free cinnamon dessert bread that I might grab tomorrow morning, before we take off. If you're in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping here for a cup and a treat! read more

Let me start off by saying that the drinks here are great! I had a matcha latte with coconut milk, which was delish. We also got some beans to go, which prepared at home in a french press have been a delight. I know this spot is a Boulder staple, and I think a little nostalgia might do me some good in my opinion of the actual shop. Alas, I'm not from Boulder, and my first venture inside Brewing Market left a little to be desired. This place gets realllllllly busy, and after waiting in line to put in your drink order, you'll likely wait a lot longer to actually receive said drink. There's a lot to look at while you wait, though--mostly LOTS of chocolate (their Ritter Sport game is on point). The bathroom was messy, most likely because of how busy the shop was. The baristas are all pretty young, probably CU students, and were very chatty with each other. I did finally get my drink, and the barista made sure to top my latte off, as she noticed it was a little short. They have outdoor seating with heat lamps, which on a sunny winter day is a very nice place to sit and relax. I'd like to give this spot another try next time I'm in Boulder! read more

Let me start by saying the coffee here is good. I enjoyed my caramel latte as I always do, and my wife went out on a limb and ordered a horchata latte and boy was she happy! We have come here on numerous occasions and the baristas could use a little work. They aren't bad but not overly friendly or helpful either. Sometimes I feel a bit pressured when I am deciding what to order and they are just glaring at me. Some negatives: None of the power outlets outside worked, and while my wife and I don't usually bring our electronics to coffee shops, we did have some business reports to get done on this specific day and since the inside was completely full we thought we'd be okay outside despite the chill in the air. But they didn't work, so we couldn't work. Also the heating lamps weren't on which left us chilled. They automatically made our beverages to go even though we were drinking them there, which seems very wasteful. The recycling is nonexistent and the compost is not in an obvious spot either so I just feel like their carbon footprint is probably a little bigger than it needs to be. And I'll tell you what, that really chaps my ass. On the plus side, their gummy candy selection is phenomenal and they have a lot of fun treats and there is a piece of art on the wall of a mountain lion that is absolutely mesmerizing. Would have given 3.5 stars but really couldn't bring myself to bump it up to 4. Still, I will return. read more

THERE IS ONE GENTLEMAN BEHIND THE BAR I MUST COMPLAIN ABOUT!! First of all, I value patience, mindfulness and mindful living especially taking time to be present at your job -- but this gentleman Barista is A PROBLEMATIC SLOTH!! I don't know anything about the coffee here - I'm not a coffee drinker - but when I lived in the area I used to get smoothies at Brewing Market all the time. They had this one smoothie that was absolutely delicious and I couldn't find it anywhere else: it had mango, peach, banana... um, raspberry, maybe?... and I would always get it with bee pollen and wheat germ added. There was something about that smoothie that would get me insanely energized and ready for the day. Sometimes you just don't want bacon and eggs.. you just want something clean and fresh and full of energy. This smoothie was it. However, they recently raised their prices a ton on smoothies and I am not okay with paying $5 for a smoothie. I'm just not. Since there's no other reason for me to go in there... I've stopped. But it's always pretty full, the Wifi is free and fast, there's a little chocolate shop in there (also expensive, but hey), and the people behind the counter aren't at all snobby like at most of the other coffeeshops in Boulder. read more

I actually made this account just to write this review. I'm not sure if I've just been "lucky" enough to catch them on a bad day 3 times in a row but the afternoon staff has been needlessly rude to my girlfriend and I the last 3 times I've been there. I get it, you're having a bad day, or you hate your job, that's fine but I'm just trying to get a coffee and had nothing to do with your daily angst. I've been perfectly nice each time I've been there so I really don't get why I'm always met with attitude or treated like I'm invisible. Today my girlfriend even tried to extend herself and told the barista she liked his shirt. He just said nothing. Not a word. If you hate your job or the customers or us specifically, bitch about us to your co-workers behind our backs on your own time, I'm a polite paying customer who's money goes to pay your rent. Definitely not the best coffee but the staff is abysmal! Just came by 20 minutes before their 7pm closing and they were closed early for a staff training. Not a problem. However, when I tried to ask one of the employees unlocking the door to go in about the other locations, he wouldn't give any response other than to point at the sign and seem really annoyed. I thought he might not understand so o knocked on the glass door. He just waved me off while the other employees inside laughed. If you're not one of the good coffee shops, like Vic's or Amante, you can have a more customer friendly attitude. read more

I've got to say it's a good seat coffee shop that offers beef bone broth. It was so good and way healthier than coffee. Having said that I've also tried their coffee and it's quite good, maybe not as good as Otis but it certainly is warm comfortable in a good place to meet people on the west side of Lafayette. read more

I have said that it is difficult to find good coffee in Boulder. I have been on the search for the best coffee in Boulder for some time now, making my way through every shop I can. I was wrong. There is breath-of-fresh-air, gorgeous, lovely coffee in Boulder. THIS IS THE PLACE. The coffee is rich, strong, and profoundly delicious. There are no words. It is perfect. While I am currently suffering through sitting next to a group of women who are having the most loud and insipid conversation I have ever had the misfortune of being forced to overhear. the coffeeshop itself is is magnificent, and I cannot hold the patrons against it. The location isn't the best, but it is still a charming little place, like Narnia or something. From the outside, I had thought this was a beer market. From the inside, magical wonderland of knick knacks, chocolate and coffee stuffs. The baristas were kind and lovely. The selection of drinks are extensive and helpful. There are gluten free and vegan options. Best in Boulder so far. Top of the line. read more

I went in for a hot chocolate on a colder afternoon. I stepped inside and I noticed lots of coffee and chocolate. I was pretty impressed by the variety. The hot chocolate came out with latte art. The actual taste was on point with a rich cocoa flavor. Like it actually had dark chocolate in it. I would suggest it to anyone who enjoy splendiferous warm winter drink. read more

Let me start by saying that I'm not a fan of froofy sweet coffee drinks, so I can't speak to those. The froofriest I get is a mocha about twice per year. The rest of the time, I stick with tea (which I *love*, including chai), lattes and iced coffee. Five stars for environment - I love the classical music playing, being surrounded on all sides by hardcore coffee accessories, and the relaxing patio that has heaters for those chilly evenings. The most civilized-feeling coffee shop in town. Also plenty of free, close parking. Two stars for its coffee drinks. This used to be my all-time favorite coffee shop, mostly because of its formerly great chai (which used to just be "chai" not with all the choices, green vs black, what kind of milk, etc.). The black chai with 2% (or above) milk is still pretty good, if you luck out with a good barista. Which brings me to a huge issue for me with Brewing Market these days -it's quite inconsistent. Some days there's a good barista on, and your drink is hot, foamy and yum, and other days you get a luke warm, watered down drink with weak foam. So on most days, their hot prepared coffee drinks have become weak and without flavor, and yet the most expensive in town. Their lattes almost always taste like foamy milk. If you go, go for the environment, which feels oh-so-civilized compared to most other places in town, and order a straight coffee or iced coffee, which is consistently decent, if overpriced. If you're looking for the best lattes in town, even Vick's has fallen off the bandwagon in recent months. Try Espresso-Roma on the hill for great coffee and coffee drinks - and incidentally the best prices (if you can deal with the smoking, students and difficult parking). :) read more

I live this place. Free WI-FI. You could sit and work and no one would ever kick you from their tables. The coffee is great. I love the latte and they have alternatives for regular milk which is really great. The crew is always friendly and they make sure you are well taken care of. I try to be very up-front in my reviews: this is a great coffee shop, despite it not being amazing coffee. They have free wi-fi (like everyone) but are more generous than Peets and more reliable than Logans or Starbucks, and quieter than Tod's, Red Rocks, or Vics. So, I like to go and work there. What I love is that they are slightly less expensive than the other coffee shops in town and have a good variety of offerings. As stated above, there coffee is totally A-ok, just not out of this world awesome. This is ameliorated by the price, service, nice staff, and great atmosphere. read more

My favorite coffee shop ever. In fact, I come here so frequently, the staff knows me by name, and by what I drink, which is a large blonde mocha. I feel beyond comfortable here, and know that I will always get what I want. Crystal, Paul, Adam, Collin and so many more people I have to thank for excellent service every time. I like this place a lot. I meet clients here and also friends. I've even been to a community meeting in their small meeting room space. Drinks are always excellent. Haven't had any of their food products, but they look pretty standard coffee shop fare. With the exception of the variety of chocolate bars that stare me in the face as I wait for my drink. First of all the decor is quite nice, there is a lot of seating and the music was really groovy and not too loud. However I find it hard to believe a store in BOULDER still has non compostable or recyclable hot drink cups OR straws. I saw they had a few fair trade coffees in bulk but only in bulk. I asked The barista and they told me the espresso they use is also non organic as well as their milks. Taking a look around the store I also found no information concerning their organic coffee and their ethical practices. Get it together brewing market this is boulder. read more

I am so disappointed because I love brewing market and there are so few coffee shops in Boulder outside of Starbucks. I gave my order 3 times to the man to which he responded rudely saying he got it but did not because not only did they make my drink hot, they out the wrong syrup in it. My cup might have been damaged as well given that it is made for COLD drinks not hot. I tried to make this clear that I wanted an iced drink again 3 times. They were all moving at such a slow pace that I left. The biggest waste of my time and money. read more

Went to the free barista class at Brewing Market today. This is a free session held once a month and hosted by their main guy. I've recently gotten obsessed with making perfect, consistent espresso at home. I wasn't sure what to expect today, but I'm still in awe of everything we went through. For three hours, Jared answered every question we had in great detail (stuff like "how do humidity changes affect grind density?" and "what differences could you expect between a 30 pound tamp and a 40 pound tamp?"). He did demos on a simple home machine and then on up to the commercial machines in the store, making latte art all over the place. The breadth and depth of knowledge was exceptional, and I learned some good stuff. Of course, the latte he made for me was perfect in taste, texture and temperature. He also talked about their particular roasting process, and how they keep things fresh. All their beans are roasted locally, and their owner is as obsessed and meticulous as the rest of us. They're kept fresh in vacuum sealed packages for up to a week or so, and once they're opened in the store, they are in the hoppers for 48 hours max, at which time they are rotated and used in the shop to ensure freshness. Timing on coffee beans is essential for quality in the cup, and it's good to know that I can go to Brewing Market for fresh beans in Longmont or Boulder. They also have a extensive selection of coffee & tea related equipment, free wifi, and all that type of stuff. Overall, the class, the understanding of their quality control and the super-nice staff gave me a renewed appreciation for the Brewing Market. Definitely recommended. read more

While I use to love going to the Brewing Market I have recently have been very disappointed with the management. The baristas have a very negative and victim hood approach to working. This one guy who i think is names Jake, is a jerk! I mean my goodness how hard is it to be nice when I'm ordering coffee. Why is that poor service can leave a bad taste in your mouth even when I am drinking a good cup of joe. I will be taking my money elsewhere as there are so many other coffee shops in Boulder. Great coffee. HORRIBLE MUSIC as of late! What happened? This used to be such a nice relaxed setting to enjoy your coffee. I miss the more subtle classical music. I remember coming here since I was little with my mom (a huge classical music and cappuccino fan). We shared so many nice memories here, and I have such an affinity for this place. Nostalgic in a way: the flowers outside, the coffee, all the beautiful chocolate displays. I'm not a huge classical music fan-but it set this place apart in a way. But lately it has changed! Dub step-electronic weird noise blasting at 8am is just too much. I couldn't even sit outside and enjoy my coffee it was so obnoxious. :( This has happened the last three times I have tried to enjoy my coffee at Brewers. Interestingly enough the couple next to me commented on how loud and distracting the music was, as they got up and left. Sadly, this will be the last time I have my morning coffee here. Service is good but their coffee/tea is just not good. I had their lattes, and it wasn't smooth and just did not taste good. I tried their chai lattes which they have a lot of choices in, but again it was not good. It's not flavorful and tasted bland. I do not recommend their chai tea if you're looking for the spicy chai taste. read more

I was pretty disappointed with the Brewing Market; their name is super cute, I just wish that everything else was as great as the name! Upon walking in, we weren't sure at which of the two counters we order coffee. The space is oddly shaped, and is cluttered with a variety of coffee paraphernalia, food, and knick-knacks. Because of this, there is not much seating, and the seating that exists is in the walkways which is inconvenient. The baristas were pretty rude and seemed bored/tired/annoyed (?). The nail in the coffin was the coffee which tasted burnt, sloppily made, and overall disappointing. read more
