It was a very chill vibe with everyone socially distanced. We for the Irish Pub Draught, Kama Citra Ale, Czechmate Pilsner, and the sour they had (I don't remember if it was Raspberry or Blackberry?). We enjoyed all of them. We didn't see the Big Chonk on their menu but heard one of the customers ordering it. We realized after looking in their fridges that it was a peanut butter porter.. We got it via offsales.. YUM!! We also bought a pack of the Kama Citra Ale because it was so easy to drink, too. I think my Irish buddy would love the Irish Pub Draught, and probably that Pilsner too! Not one of the best local craft brewery pilsners out there but still enjoyable.

When you ask a Vancouverite what their favourite brewery or favourite Olympic Village brewery is,…read moreyou'll often hear "Brassneck Brewery." It has definitely been one of the breweries to reach out to many palletes without getting too quirky. Their tap list is always changing but they bring back their staple beers on rotation. You can check out some of them on the wall in the back plastered with black and white posters. The space is rustic and prior to Covid if the wait was long, you could buy some tasters in the tasting room. They have a decent size "appy" menu - think breads, spreads, meats and sweets to pair perfectly with the beers. If you're visiting Vancouver and love craft beer, Brassneck is definitely a must.

My husband and I will often head for a beer and bring a board game and post up and play for hours. I always find a beer or two that I really like and they are constantly innovating on new beers which keeps things fresh. One of my favourite events and fundraisers they do is around the holidays. They have a toy box where you can bring a gift or two for kids in need and you're entered into a draw to win prizes with the grand prize being a year supply of beer!! I happened to be the winner the past year and for the last year I've gotten free beer every month! It's been absolutely amazing. We never have to go to the liquor store. The service is always friendly, the ambience is casual and chill which we love and they've also added a menu over the last couple years which is great to see! I haven't eaten too much off the menu as I typically eat their pepperoni sticks, chips or giant pickles. Will of course be back soon and can't wait to give to their toy drive again.

We popped inside their tiny little tasting hall and ordered a couple of 350ml (that's 11oz) glasses. There weren't a lot of choices, and many of them were sours (which I'm not fond of). I tried the turmeric ale and the dude got the NE IPA. Both were solid, and interesting choices. I usually don't like flavored beers, but the turmeric flavor was subtle and almost refreshing. I did find myself thinking it would go great with some Indian (or other spicy) food. Dude enjoyed his IPA, which he described a "thick." Bonus points for the friendly service and outdoor seating!
