Nice modern option in Cheltenham Town. Came in on a Monday evening and the restaurant was fairly busy for a weeknight. The great decor immediately catches your eye from the giant glistening beer kettles to the raised ceilings and high top tables. Brewhouse does produce their own beer so you can walk up and view the production area very freely.
The wait staff were friendly but did need to be flagged down at times as they lingered around the bar area talking.
As far as the beers, the 'Colonel Jack' IPA was great as was the 'Tin Man" Pale Ale.
For food my brother and I shared the 'Blistered Padron Peppers' first and really enjoyed them. A great snack item while sipping on a nice beer, they were plentiful and really tasty! I went with the 'Wild Mushroom Risotto with Chicken', risotto being an item I find hard to resist, which I found to be OK, but I've definitely had much better. The fact that it was served in half a roasted butternut squash was unique but the risotto was over cooked and the chicken much too dry. My brother kept it lite and ordered the 'Chicken Caesar Salad' and had no complaints.
Overall a very cool looking place in the Cheltenham Brewery Quarter with great beer, a laid back vibe and a variety of food options. I would definitely give it another shot next time I'm in town. read more
