It was my first time visiting Brewfish, but won't be the last! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the feel/vibe and they have a mixed crowd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They opened at 4:00 p.m. and we got there a little under an hour later. It was only you one table with three people sitting at it outside. After walking around to check out the place, we decided to sit outside on the dock by the water. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though it's overcast and usually had a light rain, we stay dry because Serge moved umbrellas into create a canopy for us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can tell he's done this before. As we were there it got busier and we realized that Serge was the host, bartender, and server. Definitely understaffed for the night. I ordered the mahi-mahi and slaw tacos and chose roasted brussel sprouts as my side order. Both were wonderful, I especially liked the pineapple in the slaw. My friends state was perfectly medium well as she asked but unfortunately they were out of their chimichurri sauce. It was moist and well seasoned but she looked forward to the chimichurri flavor. Her mashed potatoes were dry but the broccoli was perfectly prepared. Serge only checked on us once because of how busy he got. I wound up going to the bar in order to pay because he was so busy. He apologized and I told him that I appreciated the service, the food, and the happy hour margaritas! We'll be back soon!

Absolutely the best spot!!! We were in town looking for an apartment for our son who will be playing baseball for UFTL, and just left our hotel. We yelped a close by restaurant and found Brewfish! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a cute tiki bar outside area with a guy playing the steel drums - made it feel like you were on an island.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is being renovated due to new owners that took it over about 3 weeks ago.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress Lisa was on point! My drink was never empty - and always checking on us. The owner Nathaniel came over and had a great conversation with us like he knew us forever. The food was just as amazing as the hospitality. We had a shrimp po boy with yummy fries and the Mahi tacos with sweet potato wedges. I wish them the best of luck and success and we will be back to visit when visiting our son. If you haven't tried this place - you're missing out!

A lovely quick stop for good food, good music, good service, and good drinks. We sat at the bar and were fully taken care of my Taylor. She was attentive and fun to chat with. The prices were great in comparison to the quality of the food. We ordered bang bang shrimp, fries, mozzarella sticks, and mild buffalo wings... and whiskey ginger and a beer bucket. The bang bang shrimp were amazing (breading, seasoning, size/portion) and I would go back just to have those again before I leave Florida. The mozzarella sticks weren't a winner, but did not impact our feelings of the place. If you're thinking of going, just do it! It's Pompano Perfection

    Smash Burger

This is their new Smashburger under new ownership and I have to tell you it's better than five guys. It's better than so many burgers I've had anywhere. The french fries are so crispy and [[HIGHLIGHT]]you still have the wonderful patio the wonderful view they've started putting fans outside so you can sit outside and bring your doggy too!!! They give them a water dish and I always order off the kids menu from my little pet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Come try the burger!!!!

Came here for lunch with a coworker. Brandon was our waiter & did a fantastic job from start to finish. We decided to sit outside and luckily it was nice outside because it was hot & uncomfortable inside. The vibes are definitely outside on the patio- where they have live music on nights & weekends (I think). Overlooking the pompano canal, you may be able to catch a fresh bite! ;) Our food was just okay. Really nothing special & in my opinion, overpriced for what you get. The fish dip was very fresh but the chips it came with were stale. My coworker lobster Mac and cheese had 3 little "crumbles" of lobster in the whole thing. Wings were ok but took forever to come out. Place is a total local hang out spot... Brandon did tell me they do brunch with bottomless mimosas on the weekend if that is your thing.....

We enjoyed Sunday brunch on the beautiful outdoor patio with our little dog, and despite the Florida heat and humidity, we were perfectly comfortable beneath the shade of the magnificent tree. It created such a charming and relaxing atmosphere. The Unlimited Brunch absolutely lives up to the rave reviews. The value is incredible, and the food just keeps coming! Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, but our two favorites were the Gouda Shrimp & Grits and the Sweet Potato Waffle--both were pure decadence on a plate. We also loved the flaky biscuits, the sweet roll, the deviled eggs...and that's just the beginning. There were so many wonderful dishes to sample that every dish brought to the table was another delicious surprise. From the creative, flavorful cuisine to the attentive, friendly service, every aspect of our visit was exceptional. South Kitchen & Bar delivered a brunch experience we'll be talking about for a long time, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

I recently visited South Bar & Kitchen for their Old School Saturday Supper event, and while the…read moreatmosphere had its highlights, the overall dining experience left me wanting more. The restaurant is located in Pompano Beach with both street parking and several nearby parking lots, which made parking fairly easy. That said, the surrounding area felt a little sketchy, and as a woman, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable walking around alone at night. The restaurant itself is cute, casual, and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The event was held outside, where DJs kept the crowd entertained with a great mix of hip-hop, R&B, and old-school classics. The music was definitely one of the highlights of the night. Because the humidity was unbearable, even after the sun went down, I chose to sit inside for dinner before heading out to enjoy the event. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. I understand they were likely busier than usual because of the event, but our waiter wasn't very attentive. He told us to flag him down if we needed anything, which isn't exactly what you expect when dining out. Our drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive, and although we were told the bar was backed up, they ended up tasting mostly like juice with very little alcohol. For appetizers, we ordered the crab beignets. They were just okay, but the mustard dipping sauce was actually really delicious and probably my favorite part of the dish. My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and I had the shrimp Caesar salad. The salad came with much more dressing than I prefer, making it a bit overwhelming. My friend thought her sandwich was decent, but unfortunately it didn't sit well with her stomach the following day. After dinner, we headed outside to enjoy the party. The outdoor deck is built around a beautiful tree and offers plenty of seating, along with a separate outdoor bar, which created a fun atmosphere. One thing that stood out, though, was how slippery the deck was. At first I thought it might have been my shoes, but after hearing several other people mention the same thing, it seemed like I wasn't the only one who noticed. Overall, the entertainment and outdoor atmosphere were enjoyable, but I wouldn't return for dinner. The menu is fairly limited, and with fewer options, I expected each dish to really stand out. Unfortunately, the food and service just didn't live up to those expectations. If you're looking for good music and a fun Saturday night vibe, the event is worth checking out, but I wouldn't go for the dining experience alone.

** Classic Vacation Spot! Great Drinks & Killer Blackened Chicken**…read more First official lunch stop of our Florida trip is in the books, and **Legends** absolutely delivered! We managed to slide in just in time for happy hour, so the wife kicked things off right with a great cocktail. To keep the kids happy while we looked over the menu, we started with the mozzarella sticks and corn dog poppers. Both were total crowd-pleasers--crispy, melty, and didn't last long on the table. For the mains, the family spread was a massive success. The kids went with the classics: a juicy cheeseburger with golden fries, and crispy chicken tenders with perfectly fried tater tots. Both got total nods of approval. The wife and I went the salad route, ordering the Cobb salad and the Caesar salad, both topped with blackened chicken. Let me tell you, that blackened seasoning is the real deal here! It gave both salads a smoky, savory punch that elevated the whole meal. At the end of the day, Legends serves up **classic bar food done absolutely right**. The vibe is fun, the food is unpretentious and delicious, and the service was on point. So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!

Very disappointing experience…read more We arrived for lunch with a group of 8 people and, from the moment we walked in, the hostess made us feel like she was doing us a favor by seating us. She repeatedly told us she was "making an exception" for our party. Then she lectured us about having to sit at two separate tables with two separate checks. What really crossed the line was when she said, "If I see you passing food between tables, we'll stop serving you." That comment was unnecessary, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate. We were paying customers, not asking for free food or special treatment. There's a time and place to explain restaurant policies, but the way they were communicated made us feel unwelcome before we had even ordered. Hospitality is about making guests feel valued, and unfortunately, that was completely missing here. We chose to leave rather than spend our money somewhere we clearly didn't feel wanted. There are plenty of restaurants that appreciate their customers, and we'll be supporting those instead.

Parking was conveniently located right in front of the restaurant, making it an easy stop. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and invited to sit wherever we liked. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel right at home, which always enhances the dining experience. Although we weren't extremely hungry, the menu had so many appealing options that we decided to sample a few items. We started with the Caribbean Tea shots, which were unique, refreshing, and surprisingly enjoyable. For drinks, we ordered a Malbec and a Peanut Butter Old Fashioned. Our first entrée was the Churrasco Frites, featuring marinated skirt steak topped with chimichurri and served with twister fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, but those fries were the true star of the dish. Still wanting more, we ordered the Garlic Parmesan Twice Cooked Wings. They were nicely prepared and satisfying, though I would have enjoyed a stronger garlic flavor. Not quite finished, we moved on to the Oaxaca Burger, an 8 ounce burger stacked with onion rings, bacon jam, house BBQ sauce, and Oaxaca cheese. This was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and possibly the best. The bun was toasted yet soft, the burger was seasoned perfectly, and it was cooked to a juicy medium temperature. Every bite was packed with flavor. Overall, everything we ordered was excellent, and the service and atmosphere made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.
