It has it all great atmosphere. Good friendly staff. Strong and cheap drinks. And some really good bar food that is not only delicious but also the best bang for your buck. I felt like I was transported to the times where $20 got you something. Yeah it's a dive bar and it may ohhh jot be the greatest decor. But I love these type of bars. Bc they always have the best people and workers there...Down to earth and everyone having a fun time. The food was so good I had to try it twice in one day. And going back again today before I head back to Jersey. The burger platter was a great buy. And the patty was cooked perfectly seared to perfection. Added cheese for .50 and bacon for another .75. And now it made it that much better. I substituted the fries for cheese balls. For a little up charge and then put some cheese balls on the burger. I'm drooling right now as I'm talking about it. But all that for about $8 made it even better. And the quality was not missing. I came back that night and ordered the fish Sammie which was just as delicious. Again served with fries and the fixings. The fish Sammie was a long crispy fish filet fried to perfection. I added cheese on it too. That was about $7. I washed both down with a double of Tito's and club. Which was also nicely priced as well. Shout out to my bartender Jordan she was awesome!! Definitely a Gem in this beautiful city. Worth every bit of 4-stars based on price/ value alone. Really tasty burgers, ham & cheese, tenderloins and chic Sammie's, esp when you consider you can get most of them in a basket with salty fries and a pop for under $5. No, this is not a misprint! Double burgers and chicken are $6...and beer - the other reason the place can get crowded - is priced just as reasonably, like any 22-OZ draft in a tall frosty mug for $2.50 (on Fridays)! And altho they typically run with a skeleton crew of combo bartender/servers, they are some of the most efficient restaurant/bar employees in town. All this and only 4-stars? The place is dingy, the parking can be funky and tight and the restrooms are pretty terrible - but once a week for cheap burgers and beers - it's worth the trip. read more

The main chef who usually cooks the food is great I have no complaint. Although when the main chef is not there they replace him with the bouncer (usually on sundays). The bouncers food is usually overcooked, even the toppings taste and look like they aren't properly being hydrated. Overall if you catch the main chef working your food is going to be good, not the other way around. Brewe-Ha's is worth 5 stars when it comes to two things: the value of what they charge for their food and beverages, secondly for the coldest draft beer in Normal! You can't beat their Burger Basket Combo deal. For $3.50 you can get a single burger with fries, and a non-alcoholic drink. For $5 you can make it a double. The burgers reminded us of the same way Steak n Shake prepares their burgers - thin and crispy. They were delicious! Fries were also fresh. My husband, daughter and I all added a draft Shocktop to help wash down our meal. The tall frosty glass mugs help deliver the beer at the coldest temperature. While the atmosphere is definitely a bar with limited tables, it is a worthy stop for a great burger and cold beer! If being a filthy rathole is somehow cool, than this is the place for you. If you're old, fat and disgusting you'll fit right in. The staff is rude, on purpose perhaps, the food is praised for being cheap, which it should be cheap, because it's crap. I had heard great things about the burgers here so I was mildly disappointed when I was told the kitchen was closed. I ambled down the street and got other food options. I returned to the bar before I left. Wicked good specials. It's all macro lagers though. I paid a buck 75 for a 20 oz of Shock Top. It's definitely a dive there wasnt even soap in the men's restroom. This place is a fantastic college dive bar. The drinks are cheap, the music has you dancing on your bar stool, there's enough TV's to watch a sports game and the food is almost as cheap as the drinks. I could not believe the prices on Tuesday. I ordered a Makers Mark with coke and a 312 and my tab was only $4.50. That would be the price of one of those drinks in STL. These have to be some of the best happy hour & dive bar prices I have ever seen. Oh, to drink in a small college town is truly the way to save money. One of my drinking partners was hungry and his eyes lit up when he saw a burger pass by to another table. He ordered a double cheese with fries and was totally impressed with the flavor and juiciness. I was impressed that it was done on a grill, just like a true diner. The only good thing about this place is it's drinks... That's it. Actually, I hear the burger baskets are good. But I'm'a vegetarian, so I don't eat the burger baskets. At night, I enjoy spending my time there with a few beers. The pitchers are cheap and the beer is cold. I love it! They actually have a great import list and actually one of those "import cards." The reason I give it a "2 star" rating is because of the day time attitude there. I've bought a couple burger baskets for my girlfriend there while I drink import beers. And I've noted to "terrible bar smell" while there during the day. If you ever try to use the bathroom, you'll know you're in hell. The bar is also a "towny" place and as a Chicago-land native, I've met some pretty interesting people. My hunger lead me on a journey to Brewe-Ha's to enjoy a premium meal. When I arrived, I was greeted with a plethora of people but not too much as to feel congested. I ordered a deluxe double burger basket with both cheeses and all toppings. My stomach rumbled as I waited nearly a half hour until the food had finally be delivered. Much to my surprise I was presented with a burger with nothing on it. You could say I was quite appalled! I went to return it and see if they would fix the problem which they responded with criticism and doubt. I was bestowed upon a replacement in which upon further investigation had zero toppings on it. I went to Brewe-Ha's for the first time in January and I have been back over a dozen times. I mainly go for the food because on weekdays they have a double cheeseburger, fries and a drink for only 3.50 which is amazing and it tastes good too. They only accept cash and since it is a bar I always tip well because I feel awkward not getting a beer. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because you have a 50% chance of getting a good server.
