BrewDog was a very cool, alive venue where many gathered after the work day. We met up with our friend who lives in London and she recommended this place. The only reason why I give 4 stars is because they had a very limited menu for GF items and it wasn't comprehensive. I asked the waitress and she said many try to order GF/modified meals but it is only a preference not a dietary restriction. She said if I was 100% allergic to gluten then I should not order anything at all (despite it showing "GF" on the menu". This did not deter me as the drinks were exceptional. I ordered a fruity gin drink that was so refreshing then ordered an espresso martini to try to wake up a bit. I LOVE this place! If I was a local this would definitely be my hangout. You walk in and there is a big open space with seating and tons of beer on tap (cider and other ale options in the cooler, plus some whiskey options). The feel is casual and yet fun. There are a bunch of board games to play while drinking. My group had a blast- plus the beer was legitimately good beer. Every beer was brewed with love and talent. If the street level gets too crowded, there is a more intimate setting in the basement, that also has the same taps available (I imagine this is more for after hours since there was no bartender at that one). There is a small food menu and all of the burgers that we saw looked amazing! Unfortunately we weren't hungry enough to order any, but we did have some sweet potato fries and they were fresh and amazing! Definitely come try this place out- the beer is strong and the classic rock music they play makes everything hit the spot read more

Brewdog is a brewery I've heard mixed opinions about but wanted to experience for myself. I took a special trip to Soho to check this place out last night. When I walked in the bar was busy as it was a weekend night. No seats were available and the bar doesn't have stools (probably because it's so busy), so my visit was brief. I left half my flight behind because standing in place hurts...and also the beer wasn't that good. If you like hoppy beer, this is a good option for you. They don't have much variety otherwise. I didn't like their stout (Jet Black Heart) and the Candy Kaiser wasn't what I expected at all. Vagabond was okay, as was Dead Pony. This isn't the type of place where a solo traveler feels particularly able to meet new friends or chat with the bartenders. But I guess if you're an overly outgoing person, it'd be easier? But yeah, glad I checked out a Brewdog pub but I probably won't be named the brewery's number one fan any time soon. read more

If you're tired of the same old pub scene with the same old drinks and disappointing sub-par food, then you're in luck. This place has none of the above. Some of the beers here are even healthy... Almost. They're Gluten-Free, anyway. It's really more of an American bar scene at Brew Dog, with a dimly-lit interior, loud music blaring all around, large tables and bar stools suitable for groups, and a food & drink menu that impresses. The drinks come in so many different varieties and are made with such care that they even have a little booklet explaining where their featured ones are made, how they're made, why they're special, and even the kinds of food they pair well with. They have an interesting wine, the AB:20 that has hints of coffee and pairs wonderfully with Tiramisu. Their beer and ales seem to be the local favorites, though. Good luck choosing a favorite. The food menu is even more unique, and while they carry your deliciously stacked burgers and hot dogs, they also have vegetarian and vegan options for the health-conscious drinker. Don't worry, though, they are not hippie food. In fact, my seitan burger with BBQ sauce, crispy kale, and vegan hummus was so good and hefty, I forgot it was vegan. Unfortunately, I had to take away a star for service. The staff was barely attentive and once they plopped down my tray of food, they didn't even have the decency to give me napkins for what was obviously going to be a messy meal. Great spot for craft beers in London. Definitely not a pub but a great spot to try local craft beers. They have daily-changing beers on draft, about 20. Half of them are their own. There's plenty of seating for small and large groups. They have a small but sufficient menu of food. I appreciate the in-depth descriptions in the menus as well as the knowledgeable staff. Stumbled upon BrewDog after a full morning of walking throughout the heart of London. We were starved and parched and BrewDog satisfied everything! We found a seat and then went up to the bar to order. The have so many beers on tap to choose from and were really nice about letting me taste test a few before deciding what I wanted. I ordered an oatmeal stout and a burger with fries. I was really impressed by the beer selection and how they had beers for everyone's taste buds, including a gluten free beer! The food was alright, but my boyfriend loved his burger. He's a huge beer fanatic so I'm pretty sure he was in heaven with this find on our trip! I'm from Northern California with a vibrant, extensive beer scene. BrewDog's craft beer selection was quite impressive with over 30 unique beers on tap! I showed the bartender a photo of "Pliny the Elder", which they quickly recognized and said, nothing exactly like it but gave me tastes of 2 IPAs that were somewhat similar. my second BrewDog visit (Shepards Bush was the first), and I'm definitely a fan of this one. there is an extensive menu of beer available and the bartenders are very knowledgeable, friendly and generous with the tastings idk if it's always on the menu, but they had a brew named Tokyo that was 16.5%!! not too my liking but I felt obligated to try it :) I'd definitely recommend a beer or two or three here before heading out to one of the great Soho restaurants or before heading home! There's loads of seating - there's a whole area downstairs that's a lot more quiet then upstairs. Love it or hate it, Brewdog have been at the forefront of the craft beer movement, daring punters to drink aggressively hoppy beers since 2007. Their Punk IPA is synonymous with motivating the taste for hop-forward American style beers in the UK and Brewdog has jumped on numerous opportunities to push forward innovation- they were selling Punk IPA in cans by 2011 and have opened Brewdog bars across the world, from Brazil to Japan. There are currently 28 bars in the UK alone- and this number will continue to grow explosively. The sheer magnitude of the Brewdog Empire is therefore a spiky issue with some beer drinkers. Putting that aside, Brewdog does have an exceptional reputation for training employees and hiring people who are genuinely fanatical about beer. It's not a joke, either- I've spoken to industry heavyweights who acknowledge that their staff training is unmatched. It's patently obvious when you saunter up to the bar in a Brewdog establishment- you can ask questions about the styles available, the hops used and for information on the guest breweries. I've always had excellent banter without any pretentiousness with the bar staff in venues across London. I recently visited Brewdog Soho for the second time because I was desperate for a drink after an afternoon battling the crowds on Oxford Street- seeing as the likelihood of finding anything exemplary in the area was slim, we made a beeline for Brewdog. Many elements of the décor are consistent across the Brewdog bars: expect a modern taproom style bar with a rotating marquee sign beer menu overhead. There's often a good selection of bottled beers on offer to drink in or take away and bars offer food menus to visitors, which can focus on hotdogs, burgers or even cheese boards to match with their beers. The surroundings are usually characterised by industrial-chic furnishings and fixtures- think exposed light fixtures and ceiling grates, a focus on the bar, wooden tables and stools. They are effortlessly trendy, but it's the engaged staff that keep the atmosphere grounded. Clientele can vary from anything from serious beer drinkers to suited bankers to stag parties. Brewdog Soho has cunningly incorporated the characteristics of the surrounding locale into its bar- relatively inconspicuous from the outside, the bar boasts a neon sign reading 'BEERPORN' and the dearth of natural light inside evokes a mild sense of a dodgy speakeasy- but it works. The bar is set across two floors and there's even a 'craft beer sexline' downstairs for the insidiously curious. Upstairs is generally continuously buzzy with crowds ebbing and flowing while the downstairs area offers some refuge and tends to be more tranquil. Brewdog offers a retreat from the heavy footfall of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road. You can generally get a seat in the afternoon and with about 20 beers on tap (and a plethora in the fridges), you're bound to find something to quench your thirst, whether it's from their own ranges, which can carry high ABVs and slap you in the face, to some sessionable saisons from a guest brewery. They often have a great range and work closely with local breweries (Beavertown in particular). If you don't know where to start, I suggest opting for a flight board, where you can try four 1/3rd pints that is either pre-selected or you can mix and match based on your own preferences. Always relishing an opportunity to generate buzz, Brewdog releases some novel beers in small batches, their Abstrakt range and limited editions- they even serve their Jet Black Heart on nitro, a new technology for pouring the perfect pint. So it can be hard to decide on only one. Forsaking your feelings towards Brewdog as a brand- or ignoring their controversial and intensely divisive marketing techniques- this is still a great haunt in central London that shouldn't be overlooked. Perfect for discovering a new beer, enjoying a good pint that will always be served with exceptional care and style, or even just playing a game of Connect Four over a Punk IPA (I've seen it). Banish the haters and go check it out for yourself- be a punk and take a page from the Brewdog manifesto. read more

Brewdog is the latter. With half the taps dedicated to BrewDog beers and half the taps dedicated to other local and not so local craft brews (including a few that you've not heard of) *Full disclosure : in don't drink beer, unless theres no other option* tonight, I was drinking beer, by choice. There was a pleasantly surprisingly large cider selection, but the Elvis Juice and something else by someone else were recommended by the bar staff upon hearing my predicament and it worked - they took my obscure taste references and served up a cold beer that i was happy to drink! However the beers were not great. Had the Bone Machine IPA and Hazy Jan which just didn't hit the spot for me. They do have a big tap list including guests beers which is a plus but the biggest win at this brewery is they are dog friendly inside all day. Wish we had that in the US! read more

Really nice bar. Upstairs, downstairs and bar area. Offers trivia during the week and has a tv in the basement for big games. The beer list is solid and high abv which is rare for the city. Many American varieties like imperial sprouts and ipa as well as some for the English palate. Prices are pretty fare at about 6 per pour and they also offer flights and Togo beers on top of that. BrewDog is top notch and in a great area. This would be my go to for sure. read more

Quite a wide variety of interesting brews, although I found it a little IPA heavy and not much in the way of big beers (I've probably been spoiled by being based in the US...) The place was pretty busy but I still managed to find somewhere to perch. They have bars both upstairs and downstairs (hint: the downstairs one was much faster for getting served). I know it sounds silly but as someone who can only have gluten-free beer ordering a pint from the tap is still a novel treat for me. Citrusy hoppy heaven. The food is also good Pub styled grub. And don't forget to add their house made hop salt to whatever you order. I'm giving it a 4 star because the service isn't consistent. The 1st time was great, the 2nd time the bartender was really rude and overcharged us for no reason and the 3rd was a nice guy who let us sample a'plenty before we committed. Stopped in here for a pint on a business trip looking for a dose of dose of craft beer like I am used to in California, USA. This hit the spot. Not as bitey as our Cali beers, but damn good none-the-less. Also had a burger (Chipotle Chorizo). Don't expect a California burger, but still tasty as heck.
