Almanac hoppy sour, Almanac Blackberry spur, blonde stout, Native Son IPA
    Laura W.

When I saw this spot was practically around the corner from our Air BnB, I knew we had to grab drinks here on our first night in London after a long day of traveling from Rome. They have a wide variety in the drafts including BrewDog originals and guest beers. It wasn't that crowded when we visited on a Sunday evening, and the bartender helping us was quite knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me in deciding on a flight. I wanted to try nearly every beer listed but I finally decided on a select 4 for the flight. I had 2 BrewDog originals-blonde stout and Native Son IPA- and 2 guest beers both from Almanac, the hoppy sour and blackberry spur. My preferences were for the guest beers but the BrewDog originals were also good. The Native Son IPA was very, very hoppy, the blonde stout had an interesting full body but a wheat-ish taste, the hoppy sour was more sour and very refreshing and light, and the blackberry was so fruity but the highest ABV so watch out for that one! We ordered food which was just ok, nothing to go out of the way for at all. For us, we hadn't eaten all day so we ordered out of hunger more than anything. The mac and cheese was cheesy but lacked spice or flavor. The "crack fries" were ok but really greasy. The cheese dip was pretty good. Tables are mostly communal seating minus a few booths. They also do beer school which was going on during our visit. Definitely come here for the beer! They have board games and pinball games too. I'd suggest trying one of their burgers if you are doing food-they looked delicious. I'd definitely return here for a beer or two in the future.

I'm going to start this off with the fact that I'm an American so my beer tastes are a little different than most European's. To top it off, I'm from San Diego which is pretty much home to the IPA movement. Think hops throwing up in your face type of beers. I used to hate them but over time my palette has grown accustomed to them and I actually crave them. Even our pale ales are pretty hoppy. Sadly my changed palette has made most European beers (not all) pretty bland. So that brings me to Brewdog. It has those type of beers as well as so many more. There are IPA's, IIPA's, IIIIPA's, you name it. A couple were even too much for me! There's also a nice stable of other types of beers as well as seasonal offerings. I particularly liked the Five AM Red Ale and Hop Fiction Pale Ale. Literally something for everyone. In additional to Brewdog's own lineup of beers, they import a huge assortment of international beers. Most were from the USA and I can attest to the quality of many of the breweries. They're also the exclusive UK importer of Stone Brewing which is straight from San Diego. It was nice to see a touch of home on the chalkboard menu. If you haven't tried Stone yet and love hops, they're your guys. The atmosphere of Brewdog was inviting and low-key. Think muted lights, long congregational tables and lots of industrial design. The food menu looked very American gastro-pub and appealing, albeit a bit heavy. If you're an American craft beer fan visiting London than this place is definitely worth checking out. If you're a Londoner or from somewhere else in Europe, be prepared for the strong flavor (and strong alcohol content) in many of these beers. Regardless of who you are, I'm sure you'll find something enjoyable at Brewdog.

    40 beers on tap

Hello my new favourite Brewdog bar! Wow, I mean just wow - this is what evolution looks like. For anyone who's been to some of the regional Brewdog's like Edinburgh and Manchester, you'll find bars that although are pretty cool do tend to be on the small side and lack the comfort of a place you'd want to hang out all night in! So in Brewdog's latest launch I'm happy to say that I hope this is what the future of Brewdog bars looks like. Loads of room including some cosy hideaway cubby holes, more relaxed leaning booths and a bar that just doesn't just seem like one big room. I met up with a friend to catch up over a couple of pints and it seemed like it was a great place to be on a Tuesday night - in fact after I got chatting to Dean the manager (he used to be the Manchester one) he said that it was busy every night of the week which will be great for the atmosphere which is sometimes lacking in some of the smaller ones on a quiet midweek evening. The craft beer selection is just absolutely fantastic - 40 beers on tap! (check out my photos on this Yelp review) - with everything stocked from their Core range, to random Brewdogs, loads of guest beers from the likes of Beavertown, Magic Rock and the Kernel - I was absolutely spoilt for choice (shame it was a Tuesday and I had to get up at 7am today or I'd have liked to try a few more). Bottles were aplenty amongst the many fridges. They also serve great burgers, hotdogs, fries and cornbread all amongst a fairly stateside-centric menu but everything seems very fresh and of great quality so it was worth getting. The toilets are an absolute revelation for Brewdog bars. Usually they're of the crack den variety with hardly enough room to swing a cat but these were modern, plush and a breath of fresh air compared to some of the others I've encountered on my Brewdog tour from Aberdeen to Shoreditch! So overall a great new twist on the usual Brewdog experience, just a shame I don't have any plans to come down this way again soon. I will though now be making an excursion to Shepherd's Bush next time I'm in town!

BrewDog is always a solid choice when you're looking for some good beer. I prefer this BrewDog branch over the Camden and Soho branches because it's much less crowded. It's usually crowded (although tolerable) on weekends but you can usually find a table at some point. Week days of course are much more relaxed. The staff are nice and are pretty helpful when you feel overwhelmed by their ridiculously long beer list. I highly recommend if you're in the area!

Hipster long beards on show- check. Distressed furniture and wonky chairs-check 1980s video game machines-check Oh...and lots and lots of luvvly beer-double check. Brewdog is a craft beer place as opposed to real ale. This means the beer is fizzier and colder, but apart from that the range of beers is truly amazing. We tried quite a few, keeping to halves. frankly I can't recall them now-a coffee stout and something citrussy. They were all excellent and most beers tend to the 4.5% upwards, reaching a truly toe curling 13.5%. There is clearly a youthful relaxed vibe in the place which on the Saturday night we came was spoilt slightly by some football fans who clearly couldn't handle their beer. We didn't try the food but will certainly do so next time.

Came here on a busy Friday night but managed to get a seat. I was delighted to find they were serving Lindemans Framboise not just Brewdog beers (no offence but I prefer fruity beers) Really nice atmosphere with a lot of quirks. Seems to be a lot of the newer hipster pubs in Dublin have pretty much modelled themselves on here. Really really good spot! Also I really liked their glasses and the bathrooms are super quirky :)

Just when you thought the Brewdog bars couldn't get any better, well they just did. Situated around the corner from Shepherds Bush Empire it's ideal for a pre-gig drink/meal. Meal you say, yes, these guys have got Texas Joe in (from the Dragon's Den) to create a tasty BBQ menu. So most craft beer geeks will know about Brewdog beers by now, but did you know this bar has a whopping 40 beer lines, YES! So not only to you have the best that Brewdog offers, you also have beers on tap from all over the world, and it's forever changing so it's a win for everyone. Now I mentioned before about the food, Brewdog offer up some BBQ treats, pulled pork burgers, chicken wings, brisket, fries, jalapeno cornbread, stomach rumbling yet? It should be. I sampled the chicken wing and the fries with the works (Fries topped with cheese, chilli and pulled pork) Chicken wings were very tender, nicely smoked, very tasty, the fries, sweet lord the fries! really nice, spicy kick from the chilli, cheese all gooey and nice smokey porkness from the pulled pork, i could of eaten these all day long. In summary, this place is awesome, and is my new favorite craft beer bar.

Good selection of wines and the obligatory spirits and a decent courtyard out the back to smoke or enjoy the good weather. Chiswick is an upmarket suburb of central London, so don't come here for cheap beer or food. The Tabard is a very nice place with an excellent range of real ales, hand-pumped or bottled, from Britain and from abroad. But a pint of regular British ale can cost as much as UKP 4.00, which is expensive for a venue outside of the immediate tourist area. Foreign ales can be up there at UKP 5.50. Or higher. The upside is the pub itself, which offers very cozy and amiable seating inside and out. There are several secluded booths so you can have a chat with your friends without disturbing everyone else. Generally speaking, there's much more room than the building seems to suggest. Staff are knowledgeable and efficient. Gets busy on weekends, especially the outside area, which is cordoned off from the street. Thankfully, the otherwise VERY busy Bath Road gets quieter towards the evening. I stuck to their own beers on this occasion, although other Italian beers were available. Their AFO was a deliciously crisp amber ale, but their DIPA called Machete was the standout. I could have happily had some more but it wasn't the best long term plan. The bar seems a little expensive at first, but isn't really that bad when you consider the beer has been transported across from Italy. There were a couple of negatives. The large Machete measure was supposed to be 2/3 of a pint. Neither I nor the waitress realised this and so I was lucky enough to get a pint. They then tried to bill us for two halves which was a bit cheeky as it was not pointed out to us until after I had finished the pint. They did correct this when we pointed it out though so I don't hold that too strongly against them. The other problem wasn't really the bar's fault but when we arrived there was a large and very loud group of guys drinking, shouting and clapping. In my brief foray to the bar they were turning up the decibels on a charming conversation about how English women are fatter than Sicilian women. We retreated outside until they oozed off elsewhere.
