I pointed out the bottle filler I had at home and asked for tubing that would fit it and the tubing he gave me totally didn't fit, not even close. Long story short, bottling my beers was a messy, awful affair. When I emailed him to complain he just gave me the runaround and said it was somehow my fault. A simple "oops, sorry", was all I wanted. And the "beer exchange fridge" is kind of odd. You give him two beers and only get to take one since the owner wants to drink one of yours in order to make sure it is worthy of staying in the fridge. I would rather give two different beers, then take two different beers and take my chances that at least one will be good. Overall though, a pretty good homebrew store. Good selection of grain, hops yeast and equipment. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

Peter is the owner and operator at A&P and he's super helpful. I told Pete that it was a first time home brewing wine and he set me up with a whole wine making kit with everything I needed. Since the beginning of June I've been back to the store 3 times, each time picking up more juice and gear. And each time, Peter shares some wine making tips drawn from his 20 years of experience in the business. I should note that this time of the year the juice are from Chile and they come in 6gal buckets. They still have some left from the winter harvest. "Come back in September", said Pete, "and this place will be a wine grape and juice superstore! That's when the California harvests come in."

The staff was super friendly - I called them to ask a few questions and they were knowledgeable and really fast to respond. The kit was a great value, and the beer came out pretty good for our first try at pumpkin!! I would absolutely order from them again in the future. It's a really fun gift idea, or just a fun activity if you're stuck inside during a global pandemic and want to switch things up a little :)

I bought 25 Sparkling wine bottles (they sell them in packs of 5 for their kits). Turns out these…read morebottles weigh 527gr and are much lighter and thinner than real Champagne bottles that are more like 800-900gr (see photo). Consequently, I don't trust that they can withstand the 6+ bar pressure that can develop in the bottle when fermenting wine in the bottle (methode Champenoise). I would think some may explode so do your homework and if you proceed with these bottles, wear eye protection and gloves. I tried to get the weight of the bottles from customer service, prior to ordering, but I did not succeed. They just assured me that they were suited for making sparkling wine, so no I am stuck with 25 bottles that I cannot use, which is why the one star review.
