I didn't realize how close it was since moving to the island about 15 years ago until we drove by the store on the way to see some friends. I made it a mission the following week to come back and visit when I had some time and I'm glad I did. The store is well-organized and well lit with trains literally floor to ceiling in every scale from Z,N,HO,O and G. I loved looking at everything and shopping for my own collection. Working train sets are great to see and the kids- young and old will love them. The best asset the store has is the great customer service and friendly staff. I was acknowledged when I walked in and when I had a question, the nice man patiently listened and gave a thoughtful answer and offered to test a particular locomotive I purchased years ago with the newer DCC control systems that are out. I bought a few models to build when I free up some time and was happy with the selection and pricing. I was very impressed from start to finish and look forward to my next trip.

The store had a really good selection overall and was clean and mostly well organized. I did find the layout a little confusing at times, although that may have just been because I wasn't familiar with the store yet. When I went in mid-to-late August, they already had a pretty large selection of both fall and Christmas décor. I liked having so much to look through, but the fall décor wasn't really my style. A lot of it leaned very modern farmhouse and felt a little basic or overdone to me. Some of the home décor in general also reminded me a little of how I would have decorated my college dorm room, so it wasn't necessarily what I'd choose for my home now. That said, décor is obviously very personal, and I wouldn't rule out buying something here if I happened to find the right piece. Prices seemed pretty reasonable, especially when things were on sale, and I thought the quality was decent for the price. I found a few things I liked, although I ended up leaving without most of the junk journaling supplies I had originally been considering. I somehow wound up buying two bouquets of faux flowers for around $12 instead, which I thought was a pretty good deal. I didn't have much interaction with the staff because it was a little difficult to find employees on the floor. There were staff members at checkout, although the line moved a little slowly. Parking was easy enough when I went in the middle of a weekday, but I'm not sure what it's like in the evenings or on weekends. The entrance is also a little easy to miss, and I could definitely see someone accidentally turning into the neighboring Whole Foods parking lot instead. Overall, I had a decent experience and would probably come back, especially for craft supplies and to see what they have for different seasons. For me, the craft section was more of a draw than the home décor, but there was definitely plenty to browse.
