Sadly so many good sellers go BAD, especially ones that still have card shops and can't pay their rent. So they go on eBay and sell all their junk damaged cards as NM/MT knowing that only 1:100 (one in one hundred) people will complain because eBay SUSPENDED buyers in 2010-11 for complaining about sellers too much (three times in a month)! THAT'S A FACT!
Card Shack (STEVE) is one of the BAD ONES! He sells DAMAGED cards listed on his eBay ID - shackem as NM/MT. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL HIS NEGATIVE FEEDBACK (15) FOR SELLING DAMAGED CARDS! But thanks to eBay's misleading Percentage Feedback I thought 99.6% positive was good, it's NOT when a seller sells in VOLUME and (15) negatives gets them 99.6%???
I'm an elderly woman (78) who buys NY Mets cards that I donate to a local hospital for very sick children. I've been doing these donations with a nephew since the 1980's and sent proof to this BAD seller. This seller was also told anything I win from him will be donated BEFORE I bid, so I wouldn't get hit with an ever HIGHER S&H fee! THAT'S AGAINST EBAY RULES BTW AND IS CALLED Fee Avoidance AND UNREASONABLE S&H FEES! He also sent me a business card showing his website so he could sell to me OFF OF EBAY, also against eBay rules. Look all those up on eBay HELP! HE (STEVE) THINKS HE OWNS EBAY AND CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS!!!
I won a 2001 UD Jerry Koosman Autograph/Jersey listed as NM/MT for a decent price. The seller (also in NY like I am) charges an OUTRAGEOUS $3.95 STARTING Shipping & Handling Fee when it cost him $2.81 MAXIMUM for S&H ($2.61 postage EXACTLY and .20 cents for the bubble envelope- they are that price right on eBay!)! But I let that slide since I won the autograph (that is very hard to find).
I get the card with two old scratched regular top-loaders w/irremovable tape on every side around the card in a case that I thought would be the right sized case. So I left positive feedback and figured I'd change cases the next day since my mail arrives late (3:30PM).
The next day, I carefully cut the tape to get to my card and he put my THICK card in a regular skinny top-loader??? This is a seller who BRAGS about being in the business (all over the place) for 28-years and he FORCED my RARE card (that needed a 75-point top-loader or 44-point MINIMUM) into an old beat-up regular top-loader. I don't get that. THEN I SEE THE CREASE FROM THE TOP OF THE JERSEY HOLE TO THE E IN THE WORD JERSEY PRINTED ABOVE IT. That is an half-inch CLEARLY seen crease. This seller had to have seen this crease unless he's almost blind.
I very politely reminded him that this was for a hospitalized child that already knows I received their card, so I cannot return it. So I asked for a very reasonable $4.00 refund. THE SELLER REFUSED. He said "I'm in NY, so return it (minus my cost to return ship it based on his attitude) and I know I can resell it for more". I COULDN'T BELIEVE HE SAID THAT! He couldn't care less about the sick child that was looking forward to getting this card, even with a crease. But there was NO WAY I could let this BAD SELLER get away with sending a damaged card with no repercusion whatsoever!
BTW- I sent picture PROOF of past donations and I sent clear pictures of the CREASE on the card he sent me which he made clear in his first response that he really didn't believe was damaged??? AGAIN, HE CURRENTLY HAS (15) NEGATIVES FOR SELLING DAMAGED CARDS LISTED AS NM/MT! It took me over an hour to take digital pictures, crop and mark each, then send them to him via eBay's NEW WAY (that I was unaware of). You can't send pictures OF ANY KIND in eBay Mail anymore! You have to attach pictures while logged-in to eBay. I NEVER GOT A NOTICE THAT STATED THIS, DID ANY OF YOU? eBay doesn't care at all about buyers anymore because we don't PAY THEM!
I had to call Paypal and they instantly gave me a $4.00 credit just based on their looking on former complaints about this seller.
