His boat was clean and no less than five minutes into our hour and a half long cruise we saw dolphins. Captain Kirby was informative, funny and gave us a great restaurant recommendation (see my review on Riverside Cafe). His vast knowledge of the area and waterways made for a relaxing and stress free cruise. The cruise was private and his boat offers a bathroom, both of which are not common with other local boat tours. We will book another cruise next time we are in the area!

This was literally our favorite thing we did this trip. Captain Joe was the best guide for this trip. We learned alot. We saw many Ospray birds, pelicans, some manatees, fish and more. My favorite was the dolphins! I have never seen dolphins swim so close to us before!!! The other young man on the boat was very nice and helpful as well, I think his name was Mitchell... forgive me if I'm wrong. Here are some pictures and videos from our trip. One whole hour was spent in an incredible lightning and thunderstorm. If the captain had even offered a shorter tour that would have been preferable to having us out in the water in a dangerous situation. Also spent some time on the bow of the boat Captians Zach and Janine were awesome. Zach piloted the boat up the ICW while Janine narrated the journey sharing information on the history of the area along with pointing out who owned many of the homes. Return trip they reversed roles and both of them were happy to field all out questions. So, yes this was fun and adventurous afternoon.

It's first come first serve so just hope it's not too crowded if you decide to go. However they do have tours every hour, so you are likely to get on a tour pretty quickly. Our guide was Keith and he was full of knowledge of the chain of lakes. It kind of felt like I was on the jungle cruise at Disneyland as we were going through the canals with all the trees covering us overhead. I was grateful for the shade because once we got out to the lakes it was pure hot direct sun light on us. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and a fan if you go in August because it gets HOT and HUMID! We were able to see all the fancy homes along the lakes, some of the previous owners of the homes, and learned a bit about Rollins College which was located on the lake front. Apparently their crew teams compete on one of the lakes as well. An absolute fun way to spend an hour!

The tours are on a first come, first serve basis and leave every hour on the hour. One of the canals was closed for construction when we went but it was truly still so lovely. Our tour guide provided so much history and information! Pro-Tip: SUNSCREEN, handheld fans and water. The boats are not covered and it can get very hot. They do not allow umbrellas for cover. This tour has been around for a while and I can't believe this was my first time taking one. I absolutely had the best time. Looking forward to bringing more visitors to do something so very central Florida! It's grand!
