You are able to bring your own drinks and snacks. Our captain seemed to go out of his way at times to get closer to the dolphins. Lots of other wildlife also. We had a small group of 9 friends take the boat. I personally enjoyed Captain Bill's narrative about the history of the area which is something I have never heard about. We saw lots of dolphin and learned about many of the birds in the area. And, Kelly was a great assistant dealing with all the people on the boat. A great ride that we got on a deal through Groupon. This dolphin tour takes us through the inlet along Route 1 where we were lucky to see many dolphins enjoying themselves along with the great waterside real estate on our sunny day. The crew of 2 were knowledgeable of the local birds and wildlife that we saw on our trip. My sister has gone on this tour twice now with different groups of people and each time has enjoyed the trip. We were invited to join two friends on The Good Nature River Tour back in January 2021. We decided on the Morning Sightseeing Tour ($25 per person). The Tour departs at 9:00 am and returns at 11:00 am. The tour takes guests through part of the Brevard County estuary on the Indian River Lagoon and a portion of the Banana River. While in transit, guests have an opportunity to take photographs of dolphins, alligators, wild birds, and manatees. The trip is narrated by the ship's Captain who is knowledgeable of the waterways, landmasses, iconic landmarks, and exclusive real estate in the area. Wildlife activity was minimal the day of our tour; however, we managed to catch a few videos of a mother dolphin swimming with her young one. From that point on, the majority of the wildlife we encountered were birds of prey, birds, and turtles. It wasn't a total loss though; the tour is very relaxing, and the views are beautiful. We also enjoyed learning about the history of Dragon Point and the fancy homes throughout the area. If I were to return for another tour, I would purchase a Sunset Cruise. Sunset Cruises are $25 per person and only available on Saturday, FYI-tickets sell out quick! The Sunset Cruise starts at 5:45 pm and returns at 7:30 pm. Also, guests are allowed to bring their own adult beverage as long as it is not in a glass container, Sweet! I recommend Good Natured River Tours to anyone looking for a relaxing 2-hour boat ride with the opportunity to see wildlife and parts of the Banana River and Indian River Lagoon, you could not see otherwise. The family and crew of the Good Natured River Tours provide an exceptional experience and were friendly and accommodating to us and other guest's needs for the duration of our tour. I have been waiting a long time to go on this riverboat cruise, and I could not have been any happier. I had family from Tennessee with children who were just so excited to see all the dolphins that were playing with the boat and the bubbles and love to hear us cheering them on the captain, Billy and his mom, Karen I believe her name is forgive me if I don't know, we're just exceptional as a captain and a cruise tour director. We got to see the most beautiful homes, front and backside which is not typical when you're driving down the river side you only get to see the front so this is exceptionally wonderful to see I highly recommend this tour. read more

AVOID! Visiting my son who lives in the area. We booked tickets the day before, arrived early and noone was there. Waited a half hour, and called but it went straight to voicemail. We took one of the most amazing 2 hour river cruises with @goodnaturedtours . Captain Bill and his crew were fantastic, very knowledgeable and pointed out everything in a very informative way. The boat was a nice size with a relatively small group and large windows everywhere so have a nice view without getting overcrowded. The back half of the boat is covered but open from the sides. They also had a front deck area to view out from the boat. We saw dolphins,manatees(sea cow part of the elephant family),pelicans, ospreys,cormorants and other birds and sea life. They also pointed out the history of the area along with some beautiful bot houses home to some very famous celebrities at some point in time. It was my birthday and it made it absolutely memorable. I highly recommend booking a tour with Good Natured! Our tour was at 9 am and lasted two hours. As soon as we pulled out of the dock, we came across a pod of dolphins. They were swimming right near the boat and underneath the boat and keeping pace with it! It was amazing to see them in their natural habitat so up-close! We also got to see a couple manatees and lots of birds! I also saw a group of stingrays. It was amazing. The staff on board the boat were very knowledgeable and so friendly! Kelly was walking around the whole time and letting us know where we could get the best view. She told us she's been doing this for 20 years and it never gets old. Family owned buisness and it shows. Mom, Dad and son operation. The 2 hour tour was really fun. I went on the first cruise to avoid the summer heat and possible afternoon rains. Our Captain lead tour invloved a lot of History about the Indian River and Banana River systems. One of interesting things i learned was the river averaged 3-4 feet deep. The ICR was around 90 feet wide and 30 feet deep. We hunted searays, dophins and other big fish to just to watch. It was fun running back and forth trying to find them. The capitain talked about tree species as well as nesting birds. We even got to see peacocks on land. One of things i enjoy is seeing the homes from the water verus a street. Its like peeking inside the back yard. I got a big discount by using the App Groupon. Once we checked in each person got a $5.00 coupon for the Grills Seafood resturant beside the dock. This was a very relaxing and informative tour. It was nice to hear about the 'settlers' of Merritt Island and how the island came to be inhabited. While seeing dolphins is never a guarantee, I feel by taking the early cruise we got to see quite a few down by dragon point. The crew was awesome and very accommodating considering this crazy covid time we are in. We grew up here in Gallie, Florida. In the Indian River, our parents fished, water skied, and enjoyed the beauty of the water and land. We have so many memories of evenings and weekends to think about on a boat with friends, food, and drinks. However, this entertaining, picturesque, and delightful river tour was money well spent. We had the opportunity for close to shore pictures of the many birds. The captain pointed the birds out to us and told us what they were. The boat captain was mindful of the dolphins as he circled and circled for us to take pictures of them. Happily, I learned some new facts about our beloved lagoon. Lastly, our boat took a trip around the point at the south tip of the island. Many of us remember the "dragon" at the end of the Indian River and Banana River. One classmate told me how he and another classmate parked their car on the Eau Gallie Causeway and swam over to the dragon. Fifty years later, he is not sure if he could do it again! I would recommend this event for visitors to the area, new members of the community, and to those of us who grew up here. It was an enjoyable afternoon! read more

This place is amazing. I am so glad we stopped here. Although they do not guarantee you will see dolphins or manatees most times they do. I think we saw at least 20-25 on our 2 hour tour. The staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the wildlife. They will educate you for sure. There is only a crew of 2 but they are both really pleasant and want to be sure you fully enjoy your trip. They also offer a $5 discount card to the restaurant near their boat. We had the privilege of taking a tour with the Captain and Kelly. They were very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and informative. That day the waters were choppy & it was windy. He took pains to keep us comfortable and let us know what to expect. On this 2 hour boat tour we saw Dolphin, lots of playful dolphins; Ospreys, Peacocks (on roofs), Great blue herons, Ibis, Egret and a variety of trees and learned about the history of the area. And Mangos vs mangrove! The best seats for viewing are portside in the covered open back. Although most of the best dolphin viewing is starboard. There is also indoor seating and a Front deck. You must be seated when leaving and returning but otherwise guests are free to move about the boat. There is a bathroom on board and if you get hungry or thirsty, they offer Chips, water, snacks for 1$. I would suggest that you take hoodies and light blankets for the ride back to the docks. It was a little breezy. Highly recommend this tour. I got our tickets on group on and they were a steal. We even each got 5$ off a meal at the restaurant next to the dock. Even though all the passengers on this trip were adults, I would definitely bring the grand kids next time. read more

The owners (who are the people who are on the boat) really care about the nature of the area and don't want to see anything bad come to the place that they and the animals call home. They have an eco-friendly motor which cannot be fixed locally (and was quite an investment too I'm sure) and even knowing that they went through with it because of their love for the animals. We had recently moved to Florida from Michigan, and thought this would be a fun way to see the sights and get acquainted with the area. We were not disappointed. We boarded the boat which is next to Grills Restaurant off US 1. The boat had indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside as it was a warm sunny day. The crew were knowledgeable about the area and friendly. I believe it is a family run business. The tour was about two hours as we cruised on the Indian River. We were educated on our surroundings, and learned a lot about the sea life and flora in the area. There were gorgeous homes along the riverfront. And we were told about the history of several homes. We even got to see the dragon sculpture in the lagoon area, and learned about its history. We finally arrived to the area where the dolphins hang out. It was exciting and we were not disappointed. It was fun and inspiring to see these beautiful creatures frolic next to the boat. There were pods of dolphins to watch. Words cannot describe how awesome it was to be part of their journey. I definitely recommend this attraction. It is great for all ages. I recommend that you bring water or other beverages. They do have drinks and snacks for sale if you prefer to purchase rather than bring your own. Have your cell phones or cameras available to take pictures. The dolphins get close to the boat and you can get some amazing shots. This is a tour that we bring our out of town guests to see when they visit. It is worth every penny.
