A nice local brewery with great people. The place had a cool vibe and a lot of people were there. Kind of a chill place.

It's a small brewery with no food service (but you can bring food in -- we had Sully's Steamers sandwiches, just a couple doors up the street). The atmosphere is minimal, but the service was very good. The key thing though -- the beer itself -- it was great. Not just because we had come from a day of hiking in the Pisgah National Forest and needed a beer. It really is a great little brewery on par with the best ones in Asheville and with prices less than Asheville breweries. Their Munich Dunkel was a great dark beer with elements of a porter or stout but in the form of a lager. It reminded me of a great beer you'd get in a British or German pub. The schwarz bier, which is akin to a porter or stout, was also excellent. Very balanced and flavorful, without being overwhelming. We'll definitely stop in here for after-hike beers again! read more

Little brewery in downtown Brevard that we are so glad we popped into while walking around town. Super chill vibe with friendly bartenders. They do not offer food but do have chips and snacks for purchase and often had a food truck on sight. We tried the Bohemian pilsner and Oktoberfest, and both were great. They have about 5 permanent and 4 seasonal beers on tap and around 5 pm on a Saturday a solid mix of locals and tourists were enjoying a late afternoon beer. As you're walking around Brevard or seeking a pre-dinner beverage this is a great place to enjoy a beer (or a few if you have some time). I enjoyed the Mango Wheat which was a hazy beer with a hint of mango. The bar has cider and seltzer cans in case you have a non-beer drinker in the group. My brother and I had a few beers and bought a shirt. He paid the bill, the I asked for a taster to see if I wanted to buy a six pack to take home. I didn't care for the taster so started to leave and was asked if I was going ti pay for the taster. I said, "okay, not used to paying for a taster." The guy says, "we don't give flights away for free". I said, " it's not a flight, it's a taster." He says, "If you want any free beer, go somewhere else!" Where do I begin? This hometown brewery has five excellent beers on tap, with two seasonal rotations. Their pints are only four dollars, which is the cheapest I've ever seen at any brewery, large or small, and the bartender was very sweet and helpful! I love sitting at the bar because I get to talk to the bartender, but if the bartender is not willing or sociable, it can be a miserable experience. Luckily, the bartender here at Brevard Brewing Co was a master of serving and maintaining a conversation, and seemed to enjoy doing so! I had an excellent time here, and look forward to coming back to try more of their beers! What I had: Seasonal dark bier and their IPA What I recommend: Both were delicious! The dark beer was complex and flavorful, and the IPA was not too happy, with notes of fruit on the nose. Truly a delicious contrast! We came, We saw, We drank a beer and left. Brevard Brewing appears to be where the locals hang out. So much so that we felt like outsiders during our visit. This is a straight up bar so if you want food it has to come from an outside source. My Seasonal IPA was a good selection for me. My wife did not feel the same about her Red Ale. We popped in with the in-laws for a beer while visiting the area. Their beer selection isn't as vast as some other places, but they cover the basics and you should be able to find at least one you'll like. They don't serve food, but they welcome you to bring your own and there are several restaurants in the area. They have a few TVs and it seemed to be a very popular place to watch college football on a Saturday afternoon. It's not very big and we almost thought we wouldn't be able to l stay for a beer because every seat & table was filled, but a large group left while we were looking over the beer choices so we were able to snag a table. read more

Hit this place on our beer tour vacation! What a disappointment been in business for 12 years and not dog friendly? So we had to go sit out back in the smoking area which is not for people with allergies or asthma! They also need to make a deck or update the outside area with a deck, keep the weeds from growing through the benches you expect people with dogs to sit? Walk out after tripping to get outside and there were rat boxes seriously Service was good, good beer not very busy, so don't understand why dogs couldn't stay inside. Came here on a trip to the mountains in early January! Great beer that's cheaply priced. They also have a lot of board games and card games to keep you entertained. You can also order food from the Mexican restaurant next door. Overall really enjoyed my time here one afternoon! Highly recommend. read more

All of them were tasty but the dunkel was my favorite. I'll definitely come back here next time we're in town it's in a great location with in walking distant to food options and the prices are amazing!! 3.50 for a beer and 1.50 for the flight choices. Brevard Brewing - my first impression was that of a warm inviting pub with luscious woods everywhere. Vibrant and colorful paintings on the walls add a nice pop. Farmhouse style wooden tables with fresh flower arrangements wait for patrons. The bartender is a ringer for Mike D (Beastie Boys) and quickly served me a flight of 5 for only $6.25. For me the beers were mostly very "simplistic", one noted and not very interesting. What did surprise me was the IPA - it was pretty damn good. The German Style Munich Dunkel gets an honorable mention and had a nice wheaty/grainy, biscuit like flavor. The bathrooms are communally shared with Kiwi Gelato and the Mexican restaurant. When you're done with the restroom, make sue to go back through the right door - or you might be a little embarrassed when you're standing too close to someone's guacamole. read more

We really enjoyed the hour or so we spent at Brevard Brewing Co. They're located on Main Street within walking distance of anywhere downtown, (we walked over after a dinner at The Phoenix), and they're very friendly and laid-back here. It's quiet in there for a brewery on a Saturday night - no rowdy crowd here. About $8 gets you a 6 or 7-sample tasting flight - a great deal in comparison to the ~$12 price point average over in Asheville's breweries. We each had two beers from the 7 we tried that we'd order again. My personal favorites included the Bohemian Pilsner (all-around great Czech pilsner - for Pilsner Urquell fans) and American Wheat (an amazing citrusy smell). We also picked up one of their pretty stickers for $1. They seemed to be most proud of their American Lager - there was even a letter from one of the brewers on the back of the beer list describing its virtues - but I found this to be my least favorite among our tasting samples. BBC also sells some apparel, pint glasses, and growler fills. No food here besides bagged chips. read more

Cool brewery off of "downtown". Nice big bar with a couple of tvs. Plenty of tables spread out. I had the Octoberfest that was pretty smooth, very comparable with Sam Adams. Good variety of other beers including a Bohemian Pilsner, a White IPA. Nice friendly staff that knows the beers. read more

I've had a couple of beers at restaurants from this brewery. While roaming around downtown last Friday I decided to stop in the brewery and give it a try. The place had a large bar and several tables. The bartender greeted me and was very knowledgeable about the beers. The prices were on par for most tasting rooms. The crowd ranged from a few college kids to a few senior citizens and everything in between. Everyone seems to get along fine while enjoying delicious beer. I'll certainly be back soon. No food or food truck offered here but they allow outside food and some downtown restaurants deliver there. Ask the bartender and they will steer you in the right direction. read more

Everything about this brewery is amazing. I can't even drink beer due to some allergies and it is still my favorite place for night life in Brevard. They always have a delicious cider on tap for me, while my friends enjoy their favorite brews! OMG...just walked into the Brevard Brewering Co and like soooo many of these operations I check out (I am from out of town FL and when ever I travel I like to check out the local brew) the person behind the bar has the personality of a wet dish rag. No greeting, no welcome, no...is this your first time here? Don't the owners of the craft beer places realize how detrimental it is to their business to have this type of atmosphere created. I just left Oskar Blues which is kind of out of town in an industrial area and it was jamming at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon. This place...downtown Brevard...is not. It's obvious they don't get it. This is a relatively new brewery in Brevard and one that I think is still trying to find its purpose. They have a great location right in downtown Brevard and are walking distance to a number of great restaurants and shops. Their beer, right now, is probably just OK. That's not to say it's bad, because it's not, as their Munich Dunkel and American Red are both well-done. Some of their others just seem to lack identity, but the brewery is still rather new, so they deserve a pass for now. The space itself is nice, with a large bar and plentiful seating there and in the surrounding space. The bartender working that evening was friendly and genuine, also making a great dinner recommendation (Square Root). Worth noting is that they offer what may be the cheapest growler in the world. We bought a very nice capped growler from them for $3.75. That's not mistyped. Less than four bucks. The fill was only $9.50 and their pint prices are also very reasonable. Next time I'm in Brevard, I'll make a point of stopping in to see if they have anything new. read more

We stopped in while on vacation to check it out and to sample their beers. The beers were very good and priced well. The inside decore and feel of this place is lacking a little, but you can definately tell they are leaving options open for growth. The bar looks to be a temporary type of structure, so we are assuming this was intentional for a possible future permanent type bar. I wish them well and will definately go back when I'm in Brevard again! read more
