The most recent session I had with her was over the phone for 30 minutes. It was during a time that I was feeling overwhelmed from the pressure of "performing". I felt everything I needed to feel and even got to cry it out, safely. The value in Shannon's sessions is her ability to be direct with what she sees, inviting interesting questions that illuminate my blind spots, and offering tangible action items to integrate the insight I receive during sessions. In the last phone session, we highlighted balance. She asked me if I saw myself moving towards balance, which I found to be an interesting question because it was a yes/no question. I realized that I do WANT to move towards balance, but I wasn't practicing physical balance in my asana practice. Since then, I have been incorporating balance more into my everyday mat practice, posture, movement, and approach towards building my business. The changes I am experience are more agency and more surrender. I'm even "taking the day off" today to tend to the mundane tasks around my home and enjoying every moment of it! When the session was over, she promptly sent me over notes and a picture of the Osho card she pulled. In person, she efficiently takes notes on a card that highlights which areas were open and which ones were blocked. I still keep the cards! It gives me something to return to, and take inventory of. She is extremely diligent in her practice and even recently went above and beyond for me to order a tier 4 prescription for me that was extremely time sensitive requiring a emergent prior authorization with insurance. This was not even her responsibility, but was put on her from one of my specialists. Her staff, her referral team, and herself really care for their people and do excellent work. If you have a 4:00 appointment, you might not even get a room until 5:30. We would always forget this and have to cancel appointments we had scheduled for after this.
