He is a good surgeon but he is an asshole when it comes to compassion and understanding. Also complaining to me how expensive casts are like its my fault that my swelling is down and cast is loose..well your surgery is hella expensive too! 2nd person Why does it matter he's getting paid 3rd person Assholes come in all shapes and sizes.... 1st person again I was supposed to have it changed anyway and he acted like I was wasting his money 4th person Was he having a hissy because you changed his all-important schedule? Interesting we had them retaken and there it was and the other Doc not a Ortho specialist could see it and casted it and that's that. So I'm sure this thread will go on and on but funny no one seems to like him or his behavior so sad in the medical business and treat people who depend on you as second class citizens. His name is Michael Wallace and I can't say enough good things about him. His gentle way of encouraging me to go above and beyond is unlike any other establishment up here. I've been here before for a back issue and this time for strength issues. Michael has great people skills and can motivate me to do things that I wouldn't normally even attempt!! He has a way to encourage me to try for another set. Kecia runs the reception duties. She's always happy and smiling. It's like visiting friends when I go.

Once there the ER Staff started life saving treatment on her and had an onsite surgical team (this was a Saturday morning) immediately start working on her. She was stabilized and placed on life support and flown by REACH helicopter to Saint Josephs Hospital in Stockton. She remained in critical condition for days in ICU and apparently coded twice. Had the Mark Twain Emergency Room staff and the Surgical team not- provided the medical care they did she would not have survived. That said, she recently had another medical emergency and again was taken to Mark Twain. Once again, they provided fantastic care. This time she remained in Mark Twain and the entire staff was unbelievable. My wife is still here today thanks to the entire staff at Mark Twain.

My stomach had been killing me for months. I went there for the problem and explained my stomach and diarrhea problems I've been having. He told me everything was fine. Blood test look good. All they were were standard blood test. I told him something's wrong he said no you're good so there's nothing I could do I asked? His remarks were no. He didn't even bother requesting a test for my stomach. Just use my standard blood test. I had a week prior for my liver monitoring. I was so mad. I just walked out went to another doctor at stanford and found out from the stool test that that doctor gave me that I had antigen in my stool thank God I went to the other doctor if I let that go it could've ended up putting me in the hospital for a months! I'll never go to this hospital again for anything other than my standard blood test to monitor my liver. My experience with these doctors if that's what they are, are very incompetent.

About 5 years after Dr. Nelligan did my right hip replacement, I had to have the left hip done. By that time Dr. Nelligan had left this area and I had to have a different surgeon do that hip. That surgeon had a five star rating, but there were significant problems that persist to the present. Now it appears that I will need a knee replacement. I just wish Dr. Nelligan was still here. Ever since then I had severe Carpell Tunnel on both hands and pain up my arms. The best thing I did was do a consultation with Dr. McDonald. I had surgery on my left hand and it was so streamline. He was open about including my husband at all of my appointments, as my husband was the one providing my in-home care. My husband felt very confident in Dr. Than, as I did. He was very clear about the non-weight bearing restrictions & the time frame for those restrictions. It's amazing to see my scar, now three months after the surgery. It is so faint you can barely see it. My friends are amazed at how wonderfully my incision has healed & so quickly. Dr. Than is very thorough in his pre-op preparation. I have a bleeding disorder & had a pulmonary embolism almost 20 years prior, following a back surgery. I also have asthma & some minor heart issues.
