We were on a road trip and just driving through the town we saw this little gem and decided to give it a try. I sat down and immediately asked if the coffee was fresh because I drink it black and if not I would wait for a fresh cup. The very nice young woman wasn't sure about the coffee and when she brought it to the table it was very good but I never was asked if I wanted a refill throughout my meal. When I asked our waiter he said there was no more? Anyway, my travel mate had cheese enchiladas and I asked for a chalupa without the meat and add avocado instead. We both enjoyed our food and thought we'd made a great choice for dining in this cute small town. If you're ever here, I recommend the Mexican food, no hesitation.

This spot has the potential to be something great. The atmosphere is gorgeous with stained glass and beautiful light fixtures. However, the food is just okay. I had the Tour of Italy and it lacked much flavor. The bread was really good, though. The main thing that was less than ideal was the staff. While friendly, I felt like we were being rushed out. We dined at 7:30 (closing time is 9) and the gentleman working shut off the open sign while we were seated and was a bit pushy. This made us feel like we were an obstacle between him and the end of his shift, and took away from the enjoyment of dining there. Also, my husband told me there are naked paintings of women in the bathroom, so keep that in mind

I would have given n'ther star if that was possible. It was perfect weather, perfect day, and we jus were luck to stumble upon the perfect restaurant. The big chandeliers remind of a classy old time. Ambience is good enough for you to choose as a location to propose ( ..... if only they have cakes to hide the ring in ) The food was simply mouthwatering yumm. They had fried okra , never had I tasted this, and glad we did. They gave us plenty options to make food vegetarian which was really nice. And their salads were jus so difficult to choose from. I finally picked the spinach range salad, again something new and delicious. I had to pack the salad and eat later at home because they brought out so much vegetarian options which were not just interesting but new. In the dessert department, they lacked variety, maybe because it was a off day ( v went on a Monday) ......well, it did not matter to me because I had no more place for dessert. They have displayed certificates of awards and the food sure justified that. LOVEDD it . ( PS: Men- don't forget to visit the restrooms ! )

Every server was rude. The fajita meat tasted rotten. Would go anywhere else in town but here.

EXCELLENT! I did not expect to find something like this in a small small town. We were on our way…read moreto college station and wanted to get something to eat as we got closer to our destination. We checked Yelp for something other than Mexican food and this place had really great reviews. As soon as we walked it we knew it was going to be good. The menu isn't too large, which to me meant that they have spent a lot of time perfecting the things that are on the menu. The service was really good and as soon as we sat down, we ordered a couple of sodas and the Boudin balls. We took a couple minutes to look at the menu and everything looked really good, but the spicy chicken sandwich was really calling out to both of us. So we ordered those one with potato salad and one with rice. The Boudin balls were delicious. They were pretty large in size and the sauce that it came with had a little bit of a kick to it. My favorite thing was that it was mostly meat on the inside and the flavor was incredible. Same with the chicken sandwich. It also had a kick and by the time I was done my mouth was pretty warm. I thought the potato salad was a great way to help cool it off, and it was just as good as the sandwich. I loved the batter on the chicken, and I thought the bun was toasted perfectly. This would be a place I would go to regularly if I lived in the area. Parking was pretty tight and most of the spots were taken up so we did park in a spot we weren't supposed to, but luckily we didn't get towed!

When I tell you the spirit of Louisiana and NOLA was in the place! So you will miss the place if you aren't paying attention. The sign is small and the building looks like it used to be a church fellowship hall. It's not fancy and it's small, however, don't discount it. Don't judge a book by its cover and great things come in small packages. It's a family owned and run business. By the looks of it, it can probably seat 40 people and I'm pushing it with the number. However from the time you walk in until the time you leave, you feel like you're at your great aunt's house. It was five of us and when you walk in, it's seat yourself and first come, first serve. The food came out piping hot and cooked fresh. My husband and brother-in-law got the catfish platter with red beans and rice (no pork) and Mac-n-cheese. My sister and I got the Nawlins boil that had a crab cluster, shrimp, corn, potato, boiled egg and a sausage link. My nephew got a shrimp po-boy with fries. The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fish and fries were crispy. The Mac-n-cheese isn't creamy but it isn't dry. Perfect amount of cheese and flavor. The red beans and rice had the perfect balance of flavor. The boil...my goodness the boil. They have the amount of the boil down to a science to make it a full meal. At first glance, I didn't think it would be seasoned well because the season looked like a dry rub. It wasn't saucy or juicy - until I took my first bite. I almost walked to the kitchen to kiss the cook. They are not skimpy on any of the food either. Even the po-boy had an overload of shrimp. When we were there, it was a packed house. There was also a large party who was rather disgruntled - not because of the service or food but because they were impatient. Remember this is a family owned business with 2 servers and maybe 3 cooks that cook to order. So if you're looking for quick food, this isn't the place. If you have time to sit, enjoy some great food with great company in a casual home style restaurant...this is your place.

Ambiance: Located in the middle of a mid‑size plaza, parking may get tight on busy days. Once you step inside, though, the space feels like home. There's a small stage for open mic nights or local bands, and the music sets the tone -- loud enough to vibe with, but still comfortable for conversation with your party or the staff. Service: Make sure you speak with Jasmine. She was fantastic, and the rest of the staff matched her professionalism. I appreciated that food was delivered with gloves and that the team stayed attentive, consistently looking for ways to elevate the service and presentation. They carry themselves well, and it shows. Food: This was the highlight of my visit. With so many tempting options, choosing was tough -- so I went with the Fins and Feathers. The greens mixed with cabbage were a pleasant surprise, and the garlic mashed potatoes hit the spot. My party ordered the smothered pork chops with greens and mac‑n‑cheese, and everything was rich, comforting, and satisfying. I wanted seconds, but my stomach tapped out. Overall: I highly recommend stopping by. They offer a loyalty program and weekly specials, which is always a plus. The next time I'm in Katy, TX, I'll definitely be back for more great food and great service.

So I quite naturally ordered the max. piece catfish (3 pc.) with fries and greens, and OMG! The flavor, the crispiness! Just like I fry it! Excellent customer service! So look, I am all about great food, and this place is really amazing. I saw this place while I was…read morewaiting at a light and thought who doesn't love Southern cooking? But, I do have some things I want to say. First, there is absolutely no signage or anything that explains what the items are, or even the basic whether you seat your self or not. It's kinda cafeteria style, you pick up a tray and silverware and then give them your choices. I did get it explained to me after standing at the counter looking like an idiot for a few minutes. I kind of fell in behind a couple of guys that came in right after me, I let them go because I had no idea. Second, there is nothing to tell you how much things cost. Protein Choices were smothered pork chops, meatloaf, chicken, turkey wings, fish and... wait for it.. oxtails. Now I know some of you are thinking HARD PASS on oxtails, but believe me, these are a rarity to find on a menu, I would say because of the cost, but also because they aren't quick to prepare. If you are offering oxtails on your menu, you have to have plenty on hand and be confident in your dish. Micheaux's hits the mark. Third, and this is very important, the food PLENTIFUL, and I do mean truly two people could probably eat what I got served. personally, I LOVE oxtails, but because nobody else in my house would even consider eating these, (they are not with me) and because they are super expensive in the store, I rarely make it for just myself. So of course I ordered the oxtails., it's served with rice, and two additional sides and cornbread. I ordered greens and green beans. It was pricey , like 37.00 before the tip, and as I was paying I was cursing myself for spending so much for lunch but..It's so delicious! I do think that the prices should be posted somewhere because ( and this is why it's getting 4 of 5 stars) I never would have ordered this knowing I would not be able to take it with me to reheat for later. I wish this wasn't an impulse stop while I was driving somewhere else . I don't know how the guys that were ahead of me put it all away in record time. They left before I started the review. I stopped eating to do the review because I want to eat more before I leave this area of town. I don't think this will travel well, especially if I can't reheat it. OMG, the man next to me just ate all of his food and just ordered a piece of chocolate cake that is making my mouth water. How am I supposed to finish what is in front of me and think about the cake too? I also want to mention that I erroneously picked up a salt shaker before I started to eat... Not needed, nothing needed salt at all, everything was perfectly seasoned. Well, I am calling it, I will take the rest with me and figure something out. Maybe one day I will be in the area again.
