Cute little restaurant! Kitschy decor. Food was amazing! The Western omelette was super yummy. The menu said it had tomato in it. It does not. But it was still very good. What a super find right on the highway. Yes it looks like there are two, the one still carrying the name is North of Somerville. Working people eating there with buffet at lunch as well with what looked to be super fried chicken. I had the hamburger and onion rings. Very good and my husband had chorizo and eggs with biscuits, that I have to come back for. Very clean, good service. Third time is not a charm! First trip tried the Mexican Food. No flavor whatsoever. Second trip tried chicken fried steak. More batter than steak. Broccoli was cooked to perfection. Third time tried the Buffett. Salad left a lot to be desired. Lettuce, tomato (that looked like it had been hacked to pieces with a dull blade) and bell pepper that was it. What they called pork steak I call chicken strip. Never convince me that was pork. Mashed potatoes were fake and mush. When you added the milk gravy that was more milk than gravy, you just had soup. Green beans were stringy. Again Mexican rice and charro beans no flavor. Took a while to get tea. Had to ask for lemon twice. Bad service. Almost all the empty tables were dirty. It was lunch time but they were not that busy maybe five tables with people. This place leaves a lot to be desired. No veterans discount and on top of everything they charge you to use your credit card! Probably won't be back. read more

This restaurant is no longer called Neinast's, the family name of the owners from back in the day. This restaurant was bought and taken over by Elizabeth, who has more recently renamed it Elizabeth's Cafe, a year or two ago. I've asked Yelp to make the changes. There was another Neinast family restaurant up the highway in Lyons, just north of this one. It retains the name but is also run by different people. Don't' confuse the two! Both good, but very different places. At least one of the reviews here is actually for the other restaurant, and shows their menu and a picture of their restaurant from the outside. I stop in once in a while, but never often enough. If you want to go back to a quiet, local, homey place run and owned by a small family, be sure and include this on your rotation of places to eat. I've had very tasty enchiladas here, and recently, a very thick juicy avocado burger, which is the best burger I've had outside the home in a long time! Quite good. For a tiny town this place is really good! The tea is SWEET in the way a true Texas sweet tea should be! The chicken fried steak was good and big! The onion rings were either homemade or the best store bought I've ever had. The mashed potatoes aren't homemade but are very good instant (I typically hate instant potatoes). Homemade ranch! We stumbled upon this place and was amazed by the quality of food. The owner was very sweet and was willing to make us anything even if it wasn't on the menu. Fresh chips and salsa were delicious and I had beef enchilada's that melted in my mouth. Husband had the chicken fried steak, he is very picky, and said it was great! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! if i could give 0 reviews i would, they need to change the name of this restaurant because i knew the owners and the new ones are a disgrace on the hard work they did to make this business. It is Mother's Day for christ sake and the waiter here was an asshole. I brought my whole family to celebrate this day with them. First off we ordered cheese enchiladas and they gave my great grandma beef enchiladas and said "that's what you get" After that my aunt order a large chicken fried steak because the menu said mini or large and the rude waiter proceeds to give her a mini and says that the only size we have... 5 minutes later rudely comes over and gives her a second one that we didn't not order and charged us for it. I proceed to order jumbo shrimp and got tiny ass mini shrimps. The waiter was very passive aggressive with my family and ruined our mother's day, they still made us pay and told us 5 times "we don't need to go back if we don't like it" This was the worst experience i've had at a restaurant ever! For a restaurant that boasts they have been in business for as long as they have, I believe that the people of the area do not know what service, much less decent food might be. My co-worker and i were in the area on a project and I pulled up my tusty "Yelp" I-phone app so that I might be able to find some decent food in a strange area. The reviews for this place were decent so we decided to give it a try rather than drive about 30 miles to a bigger town. We should have driven to Brenham. It was lunch time and there were several vehicles outside and many of them were city work trucks which is usually a good sign. They were boasting a buffet that was decently priced and the food looked above average and it included fried catfish, meatloaf, and mashed potatoes, among the selection so we both decided to give it a go. The catfish was ok but had been a bit overcooked so it was a bit greasy. We asked for some cocktail sauce when we were finally able to flag down the one waitress and after a few minutes she brought us a bottle of ketchup and some Cholula hot sauce and bugged out to help a table of locals that seems to have been there a while. We looked at each other in disbelief and made the comment that if we had asked for tartar sauce we would have been given some mayo and a pickle to make it up ourselves. The meatloaf was a bit dry and way to sweet for both of our tastes and seemed like it might have been heated up and not made from scratch. The mashed potatoes were a major plus since they did seem to have been made from scratch but there was no gravy provided on the buffet to put them over the top. This restaurant was a place that gave us high hopes but only dashed them on the rocks below. This is also the fate that the restaurant should be given. To bad there aren't any cliffs to push it over and put it out of the town's misery for dining options. read more

Great salsa and chips! Very fresh and flavorful tomatoes on my taco! The chicken and the beef all seemed fresh and so it was almost easy to fill up on chips and salsa ... I think I ate 5 bowls for just me. The Verde enchiladas lacked a significant flavor however everything else along with friendly service made it a wonderful and tasty stop in my travels. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed the breakfast here. I disagree with the other comment about the service. It was typical small town service, what you would expect from Somerville. The chicken fried steak breakfast was very good. Our waitress was very friendly and the restaurant was full of locals. I could tell they frequent this place several times a week. Not sure if it was an off night but won't be going back. Ordered chicken fried steak and it was tasteless with no gravy. The hamburger steak was thin and raw on the inside. Our server left before our food was brought out so the cook served our food and said they were out of gravy. About twenty minutes later she brought what looked like gravy but tasted like ranch dressing. Very, very bad experience for $42. read more

The most Amazing Huevos rancheros I have had in Texas. We have to come here every time we are in Texas. Service was incredible as always and other order was the chicken fried steak that was also amazing. Although they wouldn't let me buy the salsa.
