Small, quaint hole in the wall with delicious food! Great margaritas--strawberry and mango-- and cold beer for an early Mother's Day dinner!! The chicken Diablo were amazing!! Cooked perfectly for me with crispy bacon wrapped chicken and jalapeño!! Excellent salsa and chips! Enjoyed the tortillas and beans were on point!! A little small and kinda crowded! Service was pretty good! We will definitely try again! read more

Herrera’s Mexican Restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Navasota, Texas

3 hours from home and we were starving! We picked this place based on reviews and so glad that we did! Service and food were both 5 stars. The stuffed avocado was AMAZING. my husband got the Diablo fajitas and said the flavor was great but he does wish it was spicier than it was. read more

This place is hard to get to, but worth the effort. Starting with complimentary quest, followed by good Tex-Mex. Everything I've had here was good! read more

Just passing thru town and our first two choices of restaurants were "not available ", we went with choice#3 (on a Tuesday around 2pm) Herrera's. Expecting a marginally acceptable meal. However we were promptly greeted and seated, waitress and servers were extremely polite and attentive. We were given chips with 2 bowls of warm salsas, a bowl of warm queso and a bowl of jalapeños. I'm in shock still from the well trained staff, but they won me over already with the queso and jalapeños. Ordered the big combo meal and everything was wonderful! Tacos, enchiladas, tamales were all excellent!. We're definitely coming back. Good job, Herrera! read more

Stopped in based on the Yelp reviews. Salsa, queso and chips were delicious though our entrees were just ok at best. My husband and I shared chicken and beef fajitas but they didn't have much taste and were tough. Daughter had chicken quesadillas. It's important to note the service was good. The ambience was lively and typical of a TexMex restaurant. All in all, we're going to keep looking for a great restaurant in Navasota... read more

Food was good but I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here. I will say it's better than Los Cabo's. Service was good but it is a very small space and you feel closed in when it gets busy read more

It's always good when I go! Food is well seasoned , Friendly! A friend & I sat down to dine, it was good food & service.

Our first time at this little restaurant. The food was really good and plenty of of it. You won't leave hungry. Prices are reasonable and service is exceptional. It's clean and feels like a family business. read more

Nice little spot that felt like a family owned business. We came on a Sunday night before a major holiday and were not expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised. Young lady set us at a table almost instantly. Before we could get settled we had chips and salsa. And drinks followed quickly. Service was first class. They were not packed but had a steady flow of traffic. Food exceeded our exceptions. My wife had the stuffed avocado. She said it was delicious and too much food. I had the deluxe dinner. Chips are really good. Traveling thru the area and want some good food then give them a shot. read more

This is our go to spot close to home. We have tried other Mexican restaurants close to navasota and they don't compare. It is a smaller Mexican restaurant but the food is delicious. Don't judge a book by its cover, it's in an old building but the service and food are great. read more

Told one of my business partners that I would treat him to lunch but neither of us were familiar with anything good in this area so as always, I turned to Yelp and you didn't disappoint! This restaurant is kind of small, but everyone was super friendly, the waiter did a great job of quickly taking our orders, keeping our drinks and chips and salsa full, food was good quality with large portions, we were both very full and happy at the end of our meal. Thank you for a nice meal! read more

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. There are a number to choose from. Salvador is our preferred waiter and he takes good care of us. We enjoy the food and reasonable prices. read more

This is an old-style Mexican restaurant that did not disappoint! The food and the drinks were delicious and the menu was extensive. The chips and salsa were never empty and everyone was very nice. We will be back if we are in the area. read more

Great quality. Great prices. Large portions. Great service. Nice lunch menu with plenty of options

So excited to find this place today! We drove an hour from home in search of gas (electricity is out after the hurricane) and happened upon this restaurant. It was cash only, but the food was fast, fresh, and they have very large portions. Delicious warm salsa, drinks never went half empty, clean, and very friendly service. Prices were also extremely reasonable. Eating in the AC was a bonus! We may have to drive back up one day just to visit again! read more

Overpriced and sub-par food. Paid $19+ for 1 order of Beef Tacos Al Carbon and chips w/ salsa and queso?! Called in a to-go order for 2 orders of Beef Tacos Al Carbon and chips w/ queso to pick up on my way through town. When I picked up the order, there was only 1 meal prepared; disappointing but no time to wait for them to make it right by fixing the 2nd meal ordered. Got home 40 mins later to find they didn't include the guacamole in the meal and the queso is just melted junk cheese. Salsa has zero flavor. The tortillas were good but the beef was a sadly small portion in the tacos. read more

The servers were extremely nice and always made sure we had enough to drink and liked the food. The food was amazing, and reasonably priced and we couldn't get enough of it. The restaurant is this small little building with lots of pictures and music going which made for a great atmosphere. Would definitely come again! read more

A quick stop in Navasota for lunch turned out to be a great restaurant find. The food is all made in house and served fresh . Could not decide on what to order so I got the Derby lunch special , a combination of cheese enchilada , tamale pork , taco and cheese puff. With Charro beans. The whole meal was excellent and my tea glass was never empty Sorry no pictures , was to busy eating read more

Pretty good. I had the fajita steak and cheese enchilada, while my wife had the Anaheim enchiladas--both four stars. But the beans and rice were just so-so--dry and not much taste--two stars. Excellent service and nice ambiance. read more

We love Herrera's and have been coming here for years. It has a very loyal following thanks to the great food and very kind staff who run it. We love the salsa, both quesos (especially with ground beef added), enchiladas verdes, street tacos, faijita chicken quesadillas, rice and the guacamole. If you haven't tried this place, you should! read more

Only reason for giving them a two was because of the excellent service. In my opinion, the food would be a zero. Ordered combo fajita nachos. The taste of the meat reminded me of the smell of spoiled meat. Glad to wake up this morning. read more

I called in a order for pick up today and the guy who was working up front was more than likely new but definitely needs to be assisted if he's going to continue to work at this place of business. The food is always pretty good but today it was mediocre, I do expect better from Herrera's just because i've been going there for years. Please do not let this review deter you from going there, I just have higher expectations for Herrera's in Navasota. read more

Food was amazing and service was great. I ordered the Durango which was served in two separate courses. I highly recommend!!

Excellent food and service! Best enchiladas in years! We will be back! So excited to discover a new wonderful Tex Mex restaurant!

The food was Delicious.. I'm not the type to leave reviews but the food and service was awesome....

My fajita meat was burnt inside of my burrito which was encased in a soggy burrito wrap. the beans were runny.

Stopped for lunch and it was quick, great service, delish food and reasonably priced. We'll be back for sure!
