Dr. Lewis did a fantastic job on my procedure. I had been wanting to get this procedure done for years but kept postponing it because I was nervous. Dr. Lewis immediately put me at ease with her professionalism. She was extremely patient in answering all my questions, and when I needed to have a revision (which was expected given my particular case), she let me know that she wanted me to be 100% happy with the results (which I was) and would do further revisions until I was satisfied. I was having a problem and in pain. Not only did Dr. Lewis staff fit me in the same day to be seen, they also were incredibly warm, inviting and professional. As far as Dr. Lewis, she was also very kind, easy to talk to and made my entire experience very easy. I do not normally do well at the dentist let alone a periodontist. This is a five-star periodontist office. I consulted with several other periodontists in the area and Dr Lewis far exceeded my expectations with a very professional and highly trained staff. I had consulted with a different periodontist office and was disappointed they didn't take the time like Dr. Lewis and her staff did with me. I had a front tooth extracted by a dentist who (newly) specialized in implants that had no periodontal background. Unfortunately my gum line was disfigured and the bone loss was not adequately addressed at the time of extraction. Dr. Lewis took the time to review my case, thoroughly explained to me what happened and why it was complicated, and explained the solution clearly to me. She took the time to listen to every single question I have. I wish I didn't try to save a dollar working with an inexperienced dentist, but Dr. Lewis is 20 year's of experience still offers a fair rate with high quality care and results. I share this much information for two reasons. I don't want anyone to go thru the hell I went through working with a provider who over simplified my complex case that was an acquired anomaly. Second is to acknowledge what a quality worth while provider Dr. Lewis and her team provide. I highly recommend Dr. Lewis for the fact that she pays great attention to detail, and understands what it is like to be a woman and what we go through with missing front tooth as a working professional. read more

Dr. Lamb is great! She is sweet, down-to-earth and knowledgeable. My father had to have gum surgery. Of course, he was nervous...but he reported that he felt no pain before, during and after the procedure . He was so pleased and grateful that he had a fruit basket delivered to her. I hope y'all never need gum surgery or implants, but if you do....see Dr. Brenda Lamb. She's the best! read more

Dr. Lamb-Lewis is AMAZING! The service is as good as it gets. I will never go to another dentist than her! I have some serious anxiety around the dentist and she eases e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!!!! What made me really like her was that I had an honest feel that she had my teeth in her best interest. Did a fantastic job explaining everything to me and during my gum surgery she constantly asked me if I was in pain and ok which I really appreciate. I liked her so much I decided to get more work done with her and she was ok with payment plan which is cool because most dentist want there money asap. As much as I thought I'd never say this I really enjoyed my visits to her office and just want to say thank you dr. Lamb for fixing my teeth and doing an amazing job at it! And I can't forget the staff -they are incredibly nice and fun to chat with, very knowledgeable assistants. read more

Disclaimer: I've only seen Dr. Brenda Lewis for a consultation. Yay!!! I finally found a periodontist I like!! I, unfortunately, have had gum recession for quite some time now, and my dentist had been bugging me for oh, maybe 5 years to get it done. However, I just couldn't seem to find someone I liked and felt comfortable with. (I did actually like Dr. Barney Lim, a recommendation from my dentist friend, but then they didn't take my insurance and by the time I got a new job and got insurance they took, he had retired.) That is - until I met Dr. Lewis. The whole experience from my first phone call to after the appointment was superb. Her staff was very kind, patient, and extremely helpful. They took the time to answer all my questions about my insurance and also called me a few times to try and get me an earlier appointment as people cancelled (since I had asked to be put on a wait list). Yay for nice people!! They were so pleasant to work with. I love the location (only 10 - 15 min from my house) and they also have plenty of parking (they are close to downtown San Mateo so I was worried I'd have to either fight or pay for parking - or both). They also have a good variety of magazines, although the wait was so short that I hardly had time to flip open People. Darn! Lol. So then it was time for my appointment. Her assistant, Chelsea, also showed the same care and kindness that I'd already received from everyone else. And finally, I met Dr. Lewis. She did the usual pokes and gave Chelsea all the numbers I used to understand and the whole time I was thinking "Oh man, I am going to get such a big lecture from her when this is done! She's going to tell me how I really should've taken care of this issue 5 years ago." Here's the best part - she didn't push me toward surgery!! Instead, she was very honest with me and said that I may not need it at this point. She said 1) I could get it if I cared about aesthetics. But for me, the recession is mostly on my front bottom teeth and top side teeth, so you can't see it when I smile or talk. So I didn't really care for that. 2) I could get it to help with my sensitivity, but she wouldn't let that be my main driving factor since the sensitivity is mostly at the line where my exposed root starts, and the gum grafting is not guaranteed to make the sensitivity go away. 3) I should get it to prevent further recession or decay. But she said that the exposed roots didn't actually look worn and my gums weren't inflamed where it was receding. So she felt it was pretty stable and wouldn't be a problem. Her final suggestion was to see me again in 8 months and then, if the roots have gotten worse or worn out, then we could talk about surgery again. And then she gave me not 1 (like most places) but like 10 sample tubes of Sensodyne to help with the sensitivity! How generous =). I LOVED that she wasn't pushy and I felt that she was very honest with me. I'm looking forward to seeing her again in 8 months when she'll hopefully still tell me I don't need surgery. I recently had Dr. Lewis perform a minor surgery and I am so impressed with both her and her staff. Every person I spoke to in her office was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They went the extra mile to make sure I knew exactly what they were going to do, how much it would cost and what my follow up care would be. Dr. Lewis herself was fantastic. I've needed periodontal surgery for years. I avoided it because I never found a periodontist I trusted. I'm in medicine myself, and most periodontists are not people I would let operate on me. Well - this is an edited review. I had a not so pleasant first experience at this dental office (dentist showing up late, no apologies, feeling rushed and dentist being not exactly gentle). However, after I voiced my thoughts about how I felt treated, they made every effort to apologize and make good on the experience. They do care about their patients after all. Dr. Lewis called herself to talk with me and a day later one of her staff members did a follow-up call. So, all things considered, I have to say that was more than I expected and they probably just had a bad day. I would say that I could still recommend this dentist to others and even if it is in how professionally the situation was handled. read more
