However, my most recent experience left me pretty embarrassed. Despite the environment being as expected--fun and engaging--I was asked to leave along with my guests because a bartender coming on shift couldn't get along with the patrons. This was really disappointing, especially when you're someone who supports the establishment regularly. It's not the treatment you'd expect when you're hosting out-of-town friends and trying to show them a good time. Unfortunately, this situation has left me rethinking my loyalty to this place. Food amazing depending on who is cooking and you never know if they are serving food or not because certain bartenders will not cook.

Its a hole in the wall- right on the tracks on the edge of town. This place often doesn't have things in stock on the menu- but they get away with it here. This is more of a bar than a restaurant. The food is alright. Not stellar- but the burgers are good, salads are WAY over sauced and most everything else is deep fried. Service is alright- but they get an A+ for the homey feel as they remember everyone there. Its a bar people come back to because they make it feel like home. Try the frozen patio punch! Upon entering, the music was extremely loud; much louder than a concert! A waitress seemed accommodating, but then the owner came up and promptly refused to turn the music down. I am 44 and went to metal concerts as a young man, and this was painfully loud! The irony is that this place is marketed as a family restaurant and the volume was high enough that you could not have a conversation. We were probably going to spend $100+, but that must not mean anything to them?? We will not be returning and will definitely be spreading the word. Too bad, they have a decent ribeye at a good price. Guess we'll grill at home or drive to Elkhart next time we want a good steak!

American We hit the…read moreSecond Time Around on the recommendation of a coworker. There was six of us hungry dudes after a long day of meetings and equipment trials. The name comes from the fact that the owners originally had a thriving restaurant at the location, sold it, went off to pursue something else and eventually came back and the same venue was currently available - that's the reader's digest version but you get the idea. Waitress was a hoot and got us going with drinks and apps. We started with fried pickles, fried portobellos and the pretzel bites. All were freshly made and the crowd devoured them. We ordered quite a few different things for dinner from Steaks to salads and everyone was satisfied with what they got. I had the Delmonico and it was good - could have been thicker but fine enough. It came with two sides so I opted for the veggie of the day and coleslaw. No complaints at all. They have a full bar and the drinks were well made. Parking in the front is limited somewhat but there seems to be more on the side. All in all I would hit again if in the area.

The menu is simple enough with some great standout selections - and if I'm not mistaken, the majority of items comes with soup and choice of potato. Prices seemed average. The soup was HOT and there was a nice variety: cream of mushroom, rosa marina, and vegetable. You can also request a basket of rolls to have with your soup or before. The star of the show for me, besides the cream of mushroom soup was the french fries. Some of the best I've had at a restaurant in a long time. They were great and hot and fresh. I had the Italian dip sandwich, comes with a side of au jus, and it was also super fresh with a some mozzarella cheese on top. But what sealed the deal for us with a 5-star rating was the service!!!! Wow, our waitress was amazing and just great in everyway. Loved this experience and if I'm ever nearby in Knox again, I would stop by!!! Don't miss it.
