Company does not provide service as explained or as expected. Their customer service is terrible…read moreand they are not committed to a project. It also takes them a long time to do the complete job and in my case, they didn't even finish painting a replacement board that they specifically said they would. You'll be better off hiring someone else.

Avoid! Normally I wouldn't write a negative review but he was so rude and obviously cut corners…read more Here is what happened: We bought our home in Dec 2017. Before we bought it, it had been completely remodeled, including a new roof by Silkwood Construction. By December 2019 we had a leak (for a two-year-old roof). I called Jerry and left a detailed message. When he hadn't called back by lunchtime (3.5 hours later) I called him again. Before I could say anything he told me loudly to stop calling him and take him off my list. I do have an out of state number, but I would imagine a lot of people in the area do as well. As he was on speaker phone, my husband finally interjected that we were his customers. He sounded dubious, but let me explain our situation. Clearly he had not listened to my message. When I told him we had a leak he said "oh, really?" in a skeptical tone. When I asked if he had any kind of warranty or guarantee for his work, he basically said no. Which made it easy to say we would go with someone else; as he was so rude and unprofessional I was happy to not work with him any further. We found another roofer who fixed the issue in about two hours. Silkwood Construction had nailed too close to the pipes (dryer vent and kitchen hood vent), which caused the water to run sideways and leak through to our kitchen. They also used very thin (1/4") plywood rather than the standard 1/2" or 3/8". Time will tell if that causes an issue later.

I recently bought a house in the area and wanted to fix up the deck and stairs that were outdated…read more I began speaking with Ron and his team who were able to come out and look at the deck within the same week. Ron gave me a thorough explanation on what he believed should be done and even provided me with photos, a detailed explanation and a PowerPoint showing me the steps to fix the deck and stairs. We have had such a pleasant time working with him and his team over the last few months and my deck and stairs look great! Would definitely recommend!

Would not recommend. Owner recommends his competitor. Stated they are not accepting any new work…read moreuntil mid 2021. They repaired my deck a few years ago. They have been repairing two of my neighbors decks for the last few weeks. They left an open deck on a hillside without a barrier or warning tape. They removed the gate on my adjacent property without notifying me which allowed direct access to hillside deck with no railing for four days while they went to another job. I was out of town. Attached is a photo of what I found when I got home. This is how the DeckTech team left the job site. If a neighborhood child went through that gate and fell off my neighbor's deck it could have been disasterous. I asked them serveral times to reinspect my deck which is required for warranty. He delayed me for two weeks stating each time he would be out the following week. I received an email this morning stating I should go to his competetor. Maybe you should as well if he too busy until mid next year. The spelling errors are from his email. Ron McKenna (owner) email to me: "I would [not] be able to provide a deck inspection for you. We're just too busy and very backlogged. Maybe mid next year after we get thought out busy season You can also try Santa Barbara Surfacing they are good
