Having remodeled previous houses, we knew how costs could grow over the course of a remodel. Because of this, we were extremely happy with the Crizer planning process. The planning was thorough with visual video representations of what our bathroom would look like upon completion. This together with the detailed budget and a guarantee that the cost might be less but would not be more than the estimate were huge factors in easing the pain of spending so much money. Crizer employs great employees. One of them, Ethan, did the carpentry, electrical and plumbing work in our bathroom (all of the work but the tile). As he spent over 3 months with us, we got to know him as a person and the quality of his work. I simply can't say enough about this young man. Every day when I walk into our bathroom I smile. The quality of Ethan's is stellar. He works efficiently but with precision and because he can complete carpentry, plumbing and electrical work with had no delays. In addition, Ethan kept the construction area extremely tidy. What impressed us, though, even more was Ethan's demeanor. Although quiet and calm, he communicated with us on a daily basis, updating us on his ETA each morning and on the progress he had made on our bathroom. He is one of the reasons why Crizer has been so successful. They hire quality people. Since the completion of our bathroom a year ago (August 2025) we have had Ethan come to help us with small projects on the weekend. He is one of a kind.

The crews arrive every day at 7:00 a.m. and often stay well past 7:00 p.m. 11 hour day minimum. Most respectful contractors who start that early wrap up by mid to late afternoon -- especially on Fridays. The day I wrote this, (Friday) they were here over 12 hours. What's most frustrating is the lack of respect for the immediate neighbors. We've politely asked multiple times for them to be more mindful of the noise and late hours, but nothing has changed. In addition to the excessive construction noise, workers regularly encroach onto neighboring properties, toss materials into adjacent yards, and even bring a dog that urinates/defecates on neighboring lawns without cleaning up after it. Worker just hangs out at worksite well after work hours (11 hours+) walks his dog and acts as if he lives here. He doesn't. This company continues to show little regard for the neighbors living here. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are far more professional and considerate construction companies out there. And if this company's sign appears in your neighborhood, be prepared for extended workdays and no consideration. For those seeking contractor recommendations, there are several reputable companies that maintain reasonable working hours and demonstrate greater consideration for nearby residents throughout the construction process. Just hit me up I know a few great ones I can recommend. SKIP this one. UPDATE 6/20: Did I mention they work holidays AND weekends, so if you are hoping for a reprieve and enjoy outside time, think again! Contractor is here on a Saturday working, bang bang bang, drilling and sawing. HE simply DOES NOT CARE about the surrounding neighbors downtime like so many other contracting companies do. Again don't chose this company for not only your sake but your neighbors! There are so many others that work M-F 7:30-4 (like their website says) and actually follow it. I had company coming over to enjoy outside patio but have to change plans as it is miserable to be outside. His crew started at 7:15 am - 6:30 p.m yesterday (Friday). Another 11+ hour workday. Their online hours - do not believe! They work 11 hour days and Saturdays! So the owner coming back today after 11 hours yesterday - lucky us neighbors! If you see this contractor's sign go up in your neighborhood, expect ongoing noise and little regard for the people living nearby. Residents please for your neighbors sake don't hire this company! UPDATE 7/3: Still working holidays, today a holiday for many off work, and neighbors thoughts of enjoying our time home on the holiday off work. Nope. Sawing and banging today. Please again find a more considerate contractor, so many let me know I know a few great ones! Reach out!

I only met him once and we communicated via text and phone calls while I was 220 miles away and just let him go on the remodel. Jeremy is wonderful on communication, returns calls within 2 hours or less, sends pictures of progress, asks for clarification and gives advice. Workers show up everyday and all trash and debris was taken care of. All the things you want in a GC. His attention to detail is outstanding. He even redid the molding around of the inside of the closet doors, something you wouldn't see unless you looked. The cabinets fit perfectly, every corner of the tile work was clean. Lights were moved and placed exactly where I wanted them. Everything works. He's very respectful of property and we could not have hired someone better. We will definitely be reaching out to him in the next year or two for the next phase on the outside of the house.

His bid was competitive, and he was able to offer suggestions and ideas that we hadn't thought of or didn't know were feasible. The initial timeline was several months out, but Rob remained in contact and was able to move us up on the calendar. The project was completed at the quoted price, plus a couple of scope additions we requested. Work took a little longer than expected, likely due to modifications needed to bring our aging home up to standard, and the perfection of our tile work; Rob does things the right way, and uses great subcontractors. The end result is beautiful. The bathroom remodel was completed so perfectly that we now see flaws in our guest bathroom which was remodeled 3 years ago by a different contractor. Our master suite has transformed from the worst part of our home to our personal sanctuary. I would not hesitate to hire Rob Tol Construction again. All were taken down to the studs, so there was lots of demolition. Rob sequenced the work so I was never without a functioning bathroom. Everything adjacent to the work areas was wrapped and the floors protected. Rob and his helper were meticulous about checking all the new fittings for leaks and repaired damage from a pre-existing leak from an upstairs bathroom. Rob's original estimate was accurate and the only extras were things I asked for in the course of the job. Now that the job has been done a while I am completely satisfied.

We set up a date, but when I needed to change it to this year... he was so a-ok with whatever I needed to do. Shaun is kind, knowledgeable, prompt, and flat out knows his stuff! An amazing individual! For the pictures below... I realize these "beach colors" are not for everyone, but I wanted you to see the ragging detail as well as the prepping detail. Just amazing! The last 10 days his crew have been prepping and painting the exterior of our home. When I wasn't happy with one of colors "I" chose... no one bat an eye. They just primed over it and repainted until I was happy. And when I changed from painting to rag painting the walls instead... I was stunned to realized how talented his crew was. They did a better job of ragging than I did some 19 years ago. LOL His crew spent so much time prepping my home for paint. They arrived early and one of them usually left after 6pm when he made sure the cleanup was complete. With the prepping, windows covered in plastic. Nested birdhouses removed a safe distance. Cams safely covered. Etc. They did so much more than even I would have (and I'm pretty picky!) This is just an example of the detailed care Shaun and his amazing crew did for my project: They had taken down one of my cams (and covered 2 others) prior to painting. The main wonderful person had taken photos of literally everything on/around our home, prior to starting my project. Then later yesterday, using those same pictures to guide him in putting things back. And look how he used his picture to aim one of my cams perfectly!! Two other cams got tweaked during covering them. But due to his pictures... he re-adjusted them all perfectly!! And he replaced my porch artwork perfectly! It's these little touches that I didn't realize would be important to me. Yet they touched me so much!! COMPETENT, friendly, helpful, thorough, efficient, TALENTED!!! I LOVE SHAUN AND HIS CREW.

I move to Cayucos 3 years ago and my house was newer than most so I thought I was in great shape when it came to home remodeling or repair... and not needing much of it. HA! Turns out, we needed to replace a few doors and windows because last year's storm tested the limits of waterproofing. Ever since I moved to Cayucos I have always seen General Contract O'Shea's signs up, his great exterior work, and his green truck all around at different home remodel sites, bathroom remodel, kitchen remodel, deck remodel, etc... You get the idea, he does a ton of work around town. So we call Shaun and ask him to take a look at the project. He is a very nice person, took time to explain what the process would look like, and then gave us a few contacts where we should go look at doors and windows. Fast forward 8 weeks after the door and window project was almost done we found wood rot... and a lot of it! Shaun and his team found deck dry rot, railing issues, unsafe areas, and found the reason that a lower window was having issues opening and closing (a lot of wood was rotten). While away at work he sent me videos and picture to explain what was going on. We had calls every couple of days to stay on the same about the deck remodel, door and window replacement, and the stucco work that is now being done. His prices is very fair. His crew are some of the nicest and competent people you will meet. Everyone is very polite and trustworthy. My wife and I are really appreciate his work. - We are not yet done with the project so I will post some finish photos but for now I can post some of the demo...
