Beautiful lobby entrance!

Breed Above is an absolutely amazing boarding location for your pets! My dog is like my child and I felt absolutely comfortable leaving her here while I was out of town for an extended trip. I decided to look more into them when I saw how much effort was given to getting to know each dog as an individual (because, just like people, each dog is very unique and they understand and appreciate that). They pay attention to the specifics: what toys they like, where they like to be pet, what they don't like, what makes them uncomfortable - a truly in-depth personality assessment. We toured the facility before booking the stay and the owner took us throughout the entire facility. We saw dogs being boarded and staff attending to them as we walked around. It was really nice to see them in action and you could tell they were doing a wonderful job; everyone who works here seems to be a true dog lover and that is a MUST for me! From the moment I walked in the door I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog in their care and I knew she would feel safe, which was what was MOST important for me! They are VERY flexible and willing to meet the needs of each dog. They go above and beyond to make the stay as normal and familiar as possible for the dogs which just speaks to how in tune they are with these animals and their needs. Admittedly Breed Above is pricey, but I feel the cost is absolutely worth every penny. The facility is clean, safe, and, honestly, it is just beautiful. I was almost jealous of my dog's accommodations (and my accommodations cost a lot more)!

Thanks Yelp for helping us find Abbie!…read more As new PAWrents, our good boi was picking up commands, potty training really well but we wanted some help with leash walking (as Benny boy loves to pull) AND we knew we were bringing home another pup so we wanted Abbie to meet Benny first to help us if there were any behavioral changes. With Abbie's help, we made small changes to have a more consistent training vocabulary between my husband and me. She also gave us great tips & tricks. I also LOVE that she has a Facebook group for all her clients - we've had a couple of puppy play dates already! Her rates are reasonable and transparently disclosed on her website! So beyond training, she also has field trips (training WITH her in environments with distractions) as well as adventures (where she takes your pup(s) out!) We had Abbie come by to take Benny on an adventure so that we could have some 1:1 training time with Jette. She took ADORABLE pictures of Benny on his adventure. I'm so grateful to have Abbie has a resource and guide through the puppy process!

Have a couple more sessions already set up with her... and am looking forward to it. Definitely suggest using Abbie as your source for all things pup-related.

I first learned about Adele when my dog's breeder recommended her book, Competition Obedience: A…read moreBalancing Act. I never expected to do obedience competitively, but the book gave me a lot of great ideas for training my new puppy. I took a couple of classes with my dog at Northfield Dog Training, both times with Adele. I learned a lot and raised a well-behaved pet. With the goal of getting my current dog certified as a therapy animal, I'm back to Northfield Dog Training to polish up my dog training skills. I have been making tiny mistakes. Having a coach is a huge help. Having a small set of weekly goals makes the behavior modification seem simpler (for me, as well as my dog.) I am excited after just one class. I can do this. A good teacher helps you to start believing that you can do more with the resources you already have. ~~~ The training facility is in the country on a dirt road (Ellsworth just west of Wagner.) Classes take place in a huge pole barn at the back right corner of the property. The driveway turns to the right. On the website see the Facilities | Map & Directions page for the location and a photo of the driveways & class areas. The driveway splits when it turns the corner, so you ought to know that in order to prevent a logjam on a busy night. There are rubber mats on the floors to give the dogs a grip. There are two training areas: one for agility, another for obedience and other activities that require a lot of open space. There are daytime, evening and weekend classes. There is a restroom. To sign up for a class, go to the website and enter yourself and one or more dogs into the database. You pay online with a credit card. This eliminates the need for an office and lots of paperwork. Just don't use Chrome as your browser. Internet Explorer works. Adele has a YouTube channel, where you'll find examples of concepts introduced in the classes. There is also a Yahoo group to discuss dog training. I am impressed that she is using the available technologies to enhance what the instructors are doing in the classes.
